Give your cat a more comfortable sleep with a bed from Tuft & Paw!

When it comes to my cats sleeping patterns they are both polar opposites of each other, our small black cat can usually be found in more private places sleeping behind the curtains, or under the sofa (at night she sleeps next to my feet). Our big man Aleister is a bit different, he has always had a slight breathing issue if he is in the wrong position so he likes sleeping with his head propped up. The only thing is he sleeps in some of the most uncomfortable spots using hard objects as pillows such as my computer chair leg, the metal frame in the bathtub that the sliding glass door rolls along, etc. At night it is a little different, he usually sleeps next to my side of the bed, on the floor using a knee pillow he stole from me as a pillow. I thought it would be nice to try to get him a comfy cat bed with raised up sides to use to a more comfortable sleep so I was excited when Tuft & Paw wanted to work together.

Tuft & Paw sells a variety of awesome products for your cat ranging from fancy kitty litter boxes to comfy beds and scratching posts. For my review I was able to take a look at the cat beds and determine which I thought would benefit my cat the most. At first I thought I might go with the puff which he could lay in yet still have support, but thinking about how large he is and that he generally sleeps sprawled out I ultimately decided on the Kip Cushion in black (it also comes in white), it comes in three different sizes so I went with wide which is recommended for cats over 12lbs. Aleister is a very large cat, he is both lanky and weighs about 14lbs.

Right out of the box I could tell this cat bed was impressive and made with the best intentions in mind for your pet. It is heavy duty, quite cushioned and made with a soft material that is easy to run a lint roller over (or the vacuum) if it gets too hairy. Not going to lie, it is pretty comfy even for humans, How do I know? One of the days the cats weren't using it so I decided to see how comfy it was and sat on it for a short period while playing a video game, and can vouch that it is comfortable.

I like that the bed has a concave inside, because it allows him to stretch out while still keeping his head elevated to relieved the issues he has.

My big guy does spend a little time in the bed when it is near me so I usually carry it out of the bedroom and into the living room during the day. I was pretty surprised with how much our small little Bones enjoys laying in it, she often goes over and sits in it even if it is only for a short period of time, she looks so small in the bed compared to him hogging most of the space. Our cats are a little spoiled, you can see in the first image above that my daughter made a small pillow for the cat bed.

Do you have any pets? Tell me in the comments below what type of pets you have. If you have cats I suggest heading over to the Tuft and Paw site to see what they have to offer your cat. If you pop over to This instagram post you can see a short clip of Aleister trying out his new bed for the first time after it arrived in the mail.

Caturday but on a Sunday!

Today I wanted to introduce you to a new face in the family, little miss Bones (named after Dr. Brennan on Bones) We've had her for just over two months now. The story of Bones:

I was on the fence about wanting another cat, I decided that if we did get another cat that I wanted a black cat (because I love black cats, they are the best) and one that was female so that our big guy would feel less threatened. I joked with my husband that the only way we'd get another cat was if he found one at work and the universe wanted us to have another cat. While I was at work one day I received a call from my husband, after I answered he asked "Were you serious about wanting another cat?", I told him it depended and asked why. My husband works on different construction sites and one of the supervisors he worked with checked the job site in the morning  to get everything ready for the day, left to do some paper work and on his second time around to check on things he found three little kittens in one of the houses along with a bird cage not too far from where the cats were wandering. Neither the cats or the bird cage were there the first time he checked on the site, Someone had dumped them on the job site! They were alone and no mama cat was in sight.

My husband explained this to me and told me there was a small black female kitten, no one at the site was sure what to do with them or how to check them out so I agreed to head over and see them. Before heading out I stopped by the store to pick up some bowls, water, food and blankets because it was chillier than normal on the day they were found. When I arrived, there were three adorable but scared kittens inside of a small cage in the managers office. I took them out to check for ring worm, fleas, ticks, ear mites, wounds, etc and found all three of them to be in excellent health. They were all pretty small though, each weighing less than half a pound and they all fit into one hand, they were smaller than I was expecting them to be before I arrived. They were very hungry and chilly so I feed them and got them bundled up. The manager said he would take a kitten and another worker wanted to take the other home, and I agreed to take the last little kitten.

I bottle feed her for about two and a half weeks with small amounts of dry food until her stomach was ready to fully move onto dry food. She is such a playful and curious cat who has helped our grumpy guss become a little more playful himself. She is doing excellent, picked up on litter training quickly and she is a little snuggle bug. As she has gotten bigger I've noticed she has an odd pattering on her backside, one of these days I will try to snap a good photo of it but she is too energetic to get to sit still often. For those wondering, yes we plan on getting her spayed however we have to wait until she weighs at least 3lbs and she isn't quite there yet.

I'll keep sharing pictures of her and the big guy over on my Instagram page (@Burningmoonprod)

Wellness Gravies from Chewy.com!

Aleister is excited to bring you a new review featuring a wet cat food from the Wellness brand. When it comes to food Aleister knows when it is time for his daily wet food bowl and will become quite vocal to let you know if you are late giving him his food. When we get to test out new wet foods he is over the moon, because to him testing out new brands is like a person getting to try out new desserts.

This month we are trying out the Wellness Healthy Indulgent Gravies food pouches which come in a case of 32  3oz pouches through Chewy for $37.96. Instead of one giant case arriving containing all of the pouches you'll be sent four smaller boxes that each have eight pouches in two different flavors. The two flavors included are Chicken/Turkey and Tuna/Mackerel and both are grain-free, the first we opened was the tune/mackerel and it smelled just like a can of tuna being opened. Each pouch is easy to open and we had no issues getting the wet food out since the pouches were easy to squeeze.

Typically when you think of 3oz of food you might not think it equals out to a lot of food especially because a lot of cat food brands put only small amounts of food in their pouches. That wasn't the case with Wellness, I was quite surprised how much food as packed into each pouch, although I did expect a bit more gravy since they are called "Gravies". Aleister normally finishes most or all of his wet food but he was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of food in the pouch so he only finished about half of the meal. Cutting back to half of a pouch is more beneficial for us so the other half we keep in a sealed baggie and put it in the fridge for the next day so technically with a case of pouches we can get 64 days of food instead of just 32 which helps lower the cost of cat food even more! If you are searching for a new brand of cat food, a new toy or even medications Chewy has hundreds of products for sale at great prices.

Aside from pet food, what is another pet product you like buying online? What kind of pets do you have?

Purina Muse cat food review with Chewy.com!

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy for the review  free of charge.**

There are a few surefire ways to tell if your pet is spoiled, it could be a giant pile of toys or it could be getting fancy foods. This post is about the latter and a rather special box of cat food Aleister received from Chewy. We received the Purina Muse creatables variety wet food pack which retails for $22.24. As always my shipping was extremely quick, I ordered on the morning of the 7th and I received my package the following evening.

This variety pack comes with four bags of crunchy bites, six pouches of gravy sauce and six containers of tender filets. It also comes with a small recipe book which you can use to customize your cats meals or you can customize your own. If you follow along with the recipe book two of them will include just the sauce and meat, however if your cat prefers it mixed in with dry food you can always cut the dry food portions in half or add it to the dry food you already have on hand.

All of the food in this pack is grain free and made with real fish + poultry, there are no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives and it is also free of corn, wheat and soy. Each item can be used together or you can give them to your cat as a treat or meal topper such as adding the sauce to their favorite food. For it being cat food it doesn't smell all that bad and if you were to just look at the meat cups without knowing it was cat food, you could mistake it for just a cup of shredded taco chicken. Aleister has been getting a bit of the royal treatment and won't eat it until everything is stirred up to his liking which gives us a chuckle. By the way is tail swishes from side to side as he eats and from the noises he makes while eating, we can tell he has a fondness for this cat food.

This pack is easy to use and Aleister is eager to try each of the flavors included in the pack. Price wise I don't think it is too bad if the pouches are spaced out a bit, though if you use all three pouches together as a meal you'll get six meals which comes out to about $3.66 a meal which can be a bit much on the wallet after a while. Aleister has enjoyed this brand quite a bit but I think we will stick with something a little more wallet friendly for now.

Do you have any pets? If yes, have you tried out Chewy.com? Their prices are pretty great and shipping is quick plus their product selection is massive. If no, what type of pet would you like to have if you could?

Trying out Dr. Elsey's Litter with Chewy.com

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy.com for the review free of charge.**

If you are a pet owner then you know that pets stink and with indoor cats it is even harder because they aren't able to go outside to relieve themselves so they use a litter box. Unless you are cleaning up after them as soon as they use the litter box then sometimes the house might smell a little funky, however finding the right litter can make a huge difference.

Aleister has been having a great time reviewing new products from Chewy.com and recently tried out the Dr. Elsey's Clean Tracks Multi-cat strength kitty litter ($10.99 for 20lbs). Aleister is an only fur-baby, but he stinks up the bathroom as if there were two cats living in the house so we thought we'd test out this litter.

Even before testing out the litter itself I noticed something about the product I didn't like, the packaging! This 20lb's of litter comes in a rectangular shaped box that has no handles or straps to make it easy to transport or lift up to pour into the litter box, thankfully I am able bodied but if someone such as my grandmother were to test out this product I know she would have a difficult time. The litter itself isn't too bad, the pieces are bigger than some of the litters I've tried which makes it to where there is little tracked around the house. Smell wise it seemed to do alright, the box says to scoop twice daily and dump the whole litter pan once a month. I didn't fully agree with the dump the whole thing once a month, the litter more or less stuck in clumps at the bottom anytime he urinated so when you tried to scoop it would just break up and the smell built up after about a week, so if I were to use this on a permanent basis I'd dump it once a week. Aleister didn't seem to have any issues with the litter, however I don't think we will be using this specific litter again.

Cat Scratching post shopping with Tuft + Paw

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Tuft + Paw for the review  free of charge.**

When looking for a scratching post for your cat, what should you look for? There are dozens of different brands out there that sell scratching posts so looking for one might seem a little daunting, but if you try to narrow down your cats likes before purchasing a post it can be a big help.

Aleister is a bit of an odd ball cat who acts more like a dog, however he does still like using a scratching pad to help his claws + teeth so I wanted to get him something a little more than just the cardboard scratcher he is currently using. He doesn't usually like laying on furniture in the house, he prefers to be under your feet or laying somewhere on the floor. Aleister use to have a big cat tower, but he literally never used it since he had other spots he preferred to lay so when looking for a post I avoided any that had sleeping ledges and opted for a stand still post with just a scratcher.

Through Tuft + Paw we were sent the Turrim scratching post in Black Bird which retails for $139. It stands at 28" tall which is just the right size for him when he stands up to stretch and scratch on it at the same time. The scratcher came in two pieces, the base and post were wrapped separately in the box along with the hardware to put it together. Putting the base and post together took two minutes, it shows you which side the seam of the post needs to go on, then once it is in place you just need to drill (or screw) in four screws then you are done!

The post is heavy duty and weights about three or four pounds so it is light enough to re-locate to a new spot in the house when ever you'd like to move it but heavy enough that your cat won't be able to knock it over. The post itself is infused with the scent of organic catnip & is wrapped in incredibly durable + natural sisal fibers. It feels kind of like thick carpeting, I was a bit worried his claws might get stuck in the fibers but he hasn't had any issues so far and seems to be enjoying the post. I don't think it is heavily scented with the organic catnip scent as it took him a while to want to use this post but once he did he has used it every day since. The base is made from real wood so it has that nice wood scent to it when you first open it, I also liked that they offered different colors so that you can pick which suits your house better.

If you want something a bit more than just a post Tuft + Paw has several other scratching posts, beds, tress and more all ranging in price and activity level.

Chewy.com - The wave curved cat scratcher

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy.com for the review free of charge.**

The big old fur ball Aleister and I recently received the OurPets "The Wave" curved cat scratcher to test out for a review. He is oddly picky about what he will decide to play with or scratch even but he absolutely loves cardboard scratchers. We were buying small pads from the dollar tree because of how easily he seemed to tear through them. The others last about two weeks so I wanted to see how long this one would last.

The scratcher is light weight, doesn't take up a ton of room and is easy to store when we don't want it out on the floor. We've had the scratcher for about a month now and as you can see from the photo located below this paragraph, he hasn't done a ton of damage to the scratcher even though he uses this multiple times a day. Along with scratching at this he also enjoys biting it and laying on it so I'd say he very much enjoys the wave scratcher and price wise it wasn't too bad at $11.99 since it has doubled the amount of time we've had it from the dollar scratchers we were buying and it seems like it will last for some time to come as well.

Don't think this specific scratcher would suit your cat? Don't when you type in cat scratcher they show 115 results! Chewy.com offers dozens of pet products for small animals and even large animals such as a pet horse and they are all at great prices.

Chewy.com - Frisco Cat Litter

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy.com for the review free of charge.**

I know most of you have seen or heard commercials for Chewy.com but have you actually tried out their services? I personally love Chewy and no not just because I get the chance to work with them but because they have such a large selection of pet products, and offer more brands than my local pet stores. Their website makes it easy to spoil my family members pets and it will be easy for you to spoil your pets as well with their great prices.

This big fur ball has a bit of a stomach issue which can be a bit stinky so we've been looking for a good litter that helps mask the smell and doesn't leave a bunch of litter trailed all over. If you are on the search as well Chewy.com has 157 listing of different litters so you are bound to find the one that is right for you. I recently received the Frisco Lightweight Floral Fresh Scent Multi-Cat Clumping Cat Litter to try out with Aleister. A 10lb jug retails for $7.49.

I generally like lightweight litters because they seem easier to scoop and don't clump as hard as some of the large chunk litters. Frisco is lightweight and helped prevent a decent amount of litter box smell, however I didn't like how much dust it seemed to put off when being poured into the pan even from a short height. It also tracked quite a bit because it seemed to cling to his fur. I think this litter would be best for short haired cats. With the size of our litter box we managed to get two full uses plus a few topper pours when scooping out the box from this container size, for the price that is pretty good. Even though this litter didn't work completely work out for us it may suit your cat better.

Do you have any pets? Leave a comment below letting me know what kind of treats you like buying for your pets. If you don't have any pets what kind of pet would you want to get?

Chewy.com Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy for the review free of charge.****

Almost everyone you meet who owns a pet will tell you that their pet is like a child to them and thus they like to spoil them when they can, I can personally tell you that my cat is quite spoiled and part of that is because he is extremely picky about what he eats. I am always on the look for new foods he will eat that are healthy and don't cost an arm and a leg.

I was recently sent the Wellness TruFood Tasty Pairings with Chicken, Pumpkin & Turkey grain-free cat food along with Simple Solutions Cat Litter. I was whole heartidly unsure if my cat would eat this food or not, but I was pleasantly surprised that not only did he like it but he loved it and ate the entire thing not leaving a single drop of liquid or food behind in the container. I like how this cat food is packaged and it doesn't have an overly powerful smell like some cat foods do, I also like the packaging design because it looks nice. This cat food does cost slightly more than I currently pay for my cats food at $37.99 for a 24 pack of 3oz cups, however with the other cat food I purchase he never finishes the entire thing and I feel like I end up throwing away half of each one.

The kitty litter did cover up my cats scent when he used the bathroom, however our litter box is located in our bathroom and when my son accidentally spilled a decent amount of bath water onto the littler it gave off an odd smell that filled the room. I wouldn't say it was a bad smell per say because it didn't smell like kitty business but it did have a house hold cleaner smell to it. The litter was easy to scoop and clumped well, you will use less of this litter than you would on other brands.

Do you have pets? If so are they spoiled?

Chewy Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy for the review free of charge.****

For all of the Star Wars fans out there, I am sorry but no this review doesn't involve Chewbacca however it does include a photo of my fur baby! A website called Chewy sells a number of products for cats and dogs, they sell everything from treats to beds and even pet meds all at great prices.

I was recently sent a bag of Dogswell Vitality Bars for dogs in a Chicken and Veggies flavor, along with a Catit Bench Scratcher with cat nip. As you can imagine my fur babies were excited when I opened the box and they realized what was in it was for them, although my pooch wasn't too happy about having to wait a minute to eat his treat so that I could snap a photo. The dog treats had a decent smell to them, if they were sitting out on a table not in their bag you could mistake them for actual beef jerky, the dogs highly enjoyed these treats and I am sure they would love another bag of them. The Catit Bench Scratcher is lovely because it doubles as a cat bed, the only issue I had with this is that the scratcher has small holes through it because it is made from cardboard. I have no issue with it being made from cardboard because it is meant to be scratched up by your cats, what I had an issue with is that the cat nip fell directly through the scratcher and onto the floor there was nothing to catch the nip and it ended up making a mess on my floor. Otherwise I am very happy with the product and as you can see from above my cat enjoys it as well. The Dogswell treats can be purchased for $12.74 and the Caitit Bench Scratcher can be bought for $7.99 on the Chewy website, head over and see what other meowsome products they have to offer your pets.
