Canna Bath Co. Review!

After a long day of work, it can be quite nice to come home & relax in a nice shower or bath, especially if you did something strenuous during the day that might have left you a bit sore. CBD products can help aid in reliving some of your stiffness & pain, over the last several years it has become quite a popular product to use and there are tons of products that contain CBD. In the past I have tried pain creams, lotions & gummies that contain CBD and I recently was able to try something new! CBD infused bath bombs. I was recently sent a few items from Canna Bath Co. to test out & review. If you are new to CBD & aren't entirely sure how it works, they have a FAQ section that may help you.

I was sent three bath bombs - Calm which is the scent bergamot patchouli, Energize which is the scent Coconut Lime & Arouse which is jasmine ylang ylang. Plus, I was also sent a tube of the CBD muscle rub lotion in the scent peppermint eucalyptus and an adorable rubber duck!

The bath bombs all smell so good, so it is hard to choose a favorite out of the three! Each one weighs 4.5oz which is big enough to fit into the palm of your hand, so you can be sure that just one bath bomb will be enough no matter how full you fill your bathtub. Each one has 60mg of hemp-based CBD that is safe for use on sensitive-skin. They can be purchased for $15 per bath bomb. I found the bath bombs to be quite relaxing to use thanks to the scent combinations used for each one. They dissolved at a fast pace mixing in with the bathwater & the calm had a nice surprise which is a small yellow duckie inside that will also dissolve in the water. The color from the bath bombs will not stain your bathtub which is a plus especially for anyone who rents. I only used two of the bath bombs, one of them I have put aside to put into next month's Beauty & The Book giveaway so keep an eye out for that if you'd like to enter.

Next is the CBD muscle rub, the peppermint is strong with this one! It is a peppermint eucalyptus scent, but boy is that peppermint scent strong. It does smell good but at the same time it is slightly overpowering for sensitive noses, it kind of smells like a bowl of crushed up peppermint candies. I honestly cannot tell if I like the muscle rub or not. It does help with aches & pains however the peppermint is very cooling, so depending on where you apply this you might not like the tingly feeling it gives. I used this on the top of my hand where I had been having a little bit of pain with the nerve that runs to my thumb & having the cool air touching the spot where the peppermint was already making it chilly almost made it feel like it was burning so I ended up washing it off. It could also just be that I am a wuss when it comes to the cooling tingly feeling. If it were the middle of summer & you used this on a spot that is covered by fabric, I can see having much better results with the cooling factor of the rub. The lotion is cruelty free, paraben free, vegan, gluten free & free of dyes which is nice for anyone with allergies. It contains 200mg of CBD & comes in a 5,5oz tube which can be purchased for $30. You will only need a little bit of the muscle rub at a time, it applies smoothly, absorbs well and works quickly to help target your sore spots. Canna Bath Co. also sells an assortment of other products such as bath salts & body wash.

Do you enjoy using CBD products? Would you want to try out one of the many products Canna Bath Co. offers? Which of the three scents of bath bombs listed above would you be most interested in trying?

Manga Artist Kit - A complete kit for learning how to draw Anime.

It can be a lot of fun trying to learn a new skill or technique especially when you have the help of a tutorial or DIY kit. My kids recently received a "How to draw Anime - Manga Artist set" from Made By Me, which is one of the brands under the Horizon Group USA line of brands. It can be found on Amazon for $18.

This kit comes with a plastic carrying case, Anime style stickers, two make your own comic books, colored pencils, markers, a sharpener, and a ruler along with a how to guide that shows you quite a few ways to draw different poses & styles of art. The only other thing I can think of that would be nice to have included in this set is a few graphite pencils & an eraser then you would really have a complete art kit. The markers are duel sized, one is thinner while the other is thicker allowing you to use them for both lining and shading.

My kids think that the tutorials they show in the how to book are simple & easy to follow. The book helps break down some of the poses you would typically use with this style of art along with showing you how to do certain eyes, etc. It can be helpful for adults wanting to get into drawing as well. The colored pencils & markers are nice, they do not bleed through the page and the colors are bold. I have my daughter do a quick sketch of one of our favorite shows using the markers & colored pencils in this kit so that you can see how the colors turned out. This kit would make a great birthday or holiday gift & if you have a craft lover on your shopping list this holiday season Horizon Group USA has tons of other great craft kits for a wide range of ages & all of them are quite affordable. You can check out what they have to offer on Amazon or local stores such as Walmart, Target, Michaels & more.

Martin Auto Museum in Glendale, AZ the perfect spot for car lovers!

Even if you aren't big into cars as a hobby, it can be pretty cool seeing vintage cars up close. My family & I recently paid a visit to the Martin Auto Museum that is located in Glendale, AZ & it was a blast seeing the collection they have. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am until 5pm & it cost $10 per person to get in. We were able to visit the museum after we attended the Arizona Bao & Dumpling festival as admission was included in the VIP ticket to the event. Why should you visit this museum? They have a collection of over 170 vehicles to view, they offer a free to play arcade, they have a carousel for kids & more. One of my favorite parts of this museum is the fact that with many of the vehicles in this collection you are allowed to open the doors & take a seat inside to take photos and see how different the cars are. Any cars that are not allowed to be opened/sat in will either be roped off or will have a sign on the window that states "doors locked". Below you can see an example of one of the cars that was locked, it also didn't have any door handles. Isn't it a beautiful car? I hope to one day be able to own a car like this.

I've always loved how old muscle cars look so I was very excited to visit and see some of the classics up close. It was such a fun experience for all of us & it is especially fun for small kids to be able to sit in the cars, it made for some fun photo opportunities as well. The museum is completely jam packed with cars & other collectibles such as vintage gas pumps, auto shop repair equipment, toy cars & more. We loved being able to walk around on our own self guided tour checking out all of the vehicles along the way. Every car there was in fantastic condition from the paint job to the seats themselves, they had a few cars there were only manufactured a few years ago and they also had vehicles that are now almost a hundred years old!

The collection ranged from muscle cars to old trucks, hot rods, vintage limos and more. Your eyes will go wild trying to take in all of the cars at once. The entire museum is well lit & everything is spaced out to prevent any door dings from happening when you are trying to get photos. Depending on how slow you walk or how much of each car you want to check out, you could end up spending anywhere from an hour to four hours here taking in everything they have to offer. With how much there is to see & do at this museum little kids are sure to be entertained the entire time.

The free to play arcade is very clean, has seating for any adults who would like to rest their feet for a while & it actually has quite a bit of games to play. None of the games require tokens or game card of any kind so they are ready to go you just need to hit "Start". I also like how many bathrooms were available through out the building, the one I stopped by was very clean which is fantastic considering how many people were in & out of the museum the day we were there. You can tell the owners & staff really care about the museum and keep everything in the best condition possible. I love that they even have part of the museum decorated for Halloween! Plus if you are a fan of  Transformers they have a bumblebee car + a huge statue of bumblebee himself right behind the car. Before you leave don't forget to check out the giftshop!

Are you a fan of seeing vintage cars in museums & out on the open road? Does this sound like a place you'd enjoy visiting? If you are ever in the area, I highly suggest checking it out, it is well worth the visit.

DIY Disco Decor Kit from STMT!

Horizon Group USA is company that has several different craft kit brands under it's umbrella, one of those brands is called Simple Trendy Modern Touch or STMT for short. Once a quarter I get sent a fun box of kits to try out with my kids & review here on my blog. Today I will be sharing the DIY Sparkling Disco Décor set with you that can be purchased on Amazon. The kit is recommended for ages eight and older due to small ingestible pieces.

This DIY kit has a lot of potential but it fell a little flat for us & I will go into why we felt that way about this kit. The kit comes with three décor items to decorate - a heart, a ice cream cone & an actual disco ball. Along with the foam pieces to decorate you will also receive some chains, key chain hooks, and several sheets of the small shiny plastic squares you will use to create your disco look.

The first issue we ran into with this set is the plastic squares, each one has a tiny protective sheet on it that needs to be removed. It takes a very long time to get all of the little plastic pieces off! After they end up all over your work space & like to stick to your hands. The instruction sheet mentioned you can apply a piece of tape to the top & peel to get them all off at once, we tried it with two different types of tape and neither worked. My daughter ended up giving up trying to peel all of them off even with my help so her project still has them attached to a good portion of the squares. The second issue my daughter ran into was the shape of the pieces, because the little plastic pieces are all square & do not have any kind of bend to them it was hard to get them to sit properly on the decorative pieces without there being large gaps between many of the pieces that were easy to see when viewing the finished project.

My daughter is still going to keep the one she did to hang up in her room & we are going to try to figure out a way to do almost a mosaic style on the other two in order to fill in the gaps. Normally we are big fans of the various Horizon Group lines & the kits they have, this one was just an oddball that didn't quite work out. I feel like with a few minor adjustments this kit would be so much better. They have tons of other great craft kits for a wide range of ages & all of them are quite affordable, you can check out what they have to offer on Amazon or local stores such as Walmart, Target, Michaels & more.

Eczema Honey Review!

Once or twice a year depending on the weather, my daughter's hands tend to become extremely dry. When they are going through their dry periods they can start to peel & crack in certain spots which can be painful. So, although it is not eczema, I decided to that we should try some various eczema creams & see how it turns out. With regular lotion it helps a little but doesn't always seem to help, depending on the lotion type which is why I thought a cream may be better. I was lucky enough to be sent two products from Eczema Honey Co to test out with my daughter for a review & see if it helps her hands.

At the moment her hands are only slightly dry, so it is currently more of a preventative measure to keep them from getting to their cracked stage as we are slowly headed into cooler weather here in Arizona. We were sent the Oatmeal hand cream & the Original Skin soothing cream. Their products are dermatologist tested and leaping bunny approved.

The Original hand cream comes in a 4oz jar that sells for $29.95 a jar, it comes in two version one with almond oil and a nut free version. My daughter does not have a nut allergy, so we received the version which has almond oil in it, along with other natural ingredients like olive oil, honey, sunflower oil & more. This cream has a thick almost peanut butter like consistency. Smells wise, it is hard to describe it almost has a waxy smell to it. It isn't a gross smell but it also isn't the most pleasant smell in the world if that makes sense, it isn't strong enough to smell after application unless you have the area you applied it to right under your nose. The formula might be thick, however when you apply the cream it smooths out nicely & absorbs quickly while leaving your hands feeling refreshed, soothed & it creates a barrier to help keep the moisture in.

The oatmeal hand cream also comes in a 4oz tube that sells for $24.95. I personally like this cream the best out of the two choices, there is almost no scent to it. This says it is for hands, however you can use it on other areas as well if you are having any issue spots. The cream is about the same consistency as lotion, it absorbs quickly and gives instant relief. After just a few uses you will start to notice a significant improvement.

She has been alternating using both creams, she uses only a little bit each day as that is all you need with these creams. So far it seems to be doing a wonderful job & the little bit of dryness she did have is almost gone which means good news for this winter & combating painful skin. These products are fantastic for full blown cases of eczema & great for regular skincare issues like dryness as well. Along with the two products I've shown here, they offer a number of other products as well such as body wash. If you suffer from eczema or dry irritated skin you should check out what they have to offer.

AZ Bao & Dumpling Festival!

Food festivals are such a fun way to try new foods, new food trucks & sometimes find some wonderful local vendors to purchase from as well. We recently attended the Arizona Bao & Dumpling festival and had a fantastic day together. The festival was held in the parking lot of the Martin auto museum so certain ticket levels also came with admission to the museum, prices on the tickets ranged. Children ages 12& under were free for both the festival and the museum, which is awesome for families that have multiple children. VIP tickets allowed you early access into the event + use of the indoor bathrooms instead of the portable bathrooms outside. We arrived shortly before they opened at 10:30AM & the line was already huge, plus there was only about a row of parking left in the parking lot so we are glad we got there early. The line to get in could have moved a little smoother, but once we were past the gates everything was smooth sailing.

I think they did a great job with how they had the food vendors line up & the placement of both the vendor rows along with seating for dinning. I also liked that we were able to bring our own water bottles inside so that we didn't have to spend that extra cost while at the event. Everything smelled so good & most of the lines moved along fairly quickly. We tried a few new things we hadn't had the chance to before which was exciting & we found a new favorite or two. When we ordered we each had a little bit of whatever it was that we ordered so that we could try out several food trucks instead of just picking one or two. We plan on visiting some of the food vendors we tried at the festival in the future, we look forward to ordering from them again.

The food vendors that had signed up for the event had a nice assortment of dishes to offer, there were so many amazing smells that you could let your nose lead you to the food item you wanted to try. I also like that they had plenty of trash cans around the event, it is always nice when you do not have to hunt down a trash can. Everyone at the event seemed to be having a great time! There were tons of families, couples, and even quite a few dogs who were walking around taking in the event. It was very family friendly & we would love to visit another one of their events in the future.

Prior to arriving I would try to figure out a budget you'd like to stick with especially if you only have a certain amount to spend in the first place. Food, Drinks & Desserts can range in price from $3.50-$20+ per order. Since there were four of us we tried to stick with dishes that were more affordable or looked like they came with a dish we could all try together. We tried out four different food vendors & look forward to trying more the next time we visit a festival like this. Out of the foods we tried we loved almost everything! There were only two items that at least one of us didn't like (the rest of us did) so I would say we did a pretty great job at picking out dishes to try. I wanted to try out one of the hot bun vendors as well, but by the time we reached their spot there was a huge line & it was slightly hot out so we will catch them another time. There are also a lot of vendors to browse & shop from.

Browsing vendor booths is always a great way to spend sometime together, & this festival had a lot of fantastic local vendors offering anime merchandise, candles & more. We found several shops we loved and ended up buying products from. As with the food prices range there were shops that had items for as low as $1 up to $50+, many were offering packages or bundles you could purchase while at the festival. Everyone we spoke with was friendly & happy to answer any questions. All of the lines for food trucks and vendors flowed nicely due to how everything was set up. In total between the food trucks and products from the vendors I spent about $120 (my daughter also spent an extra $12) so we averaged about $30 per person which I don't think it too bad and I stuck pretty close to the budget I had set for the festival, only going over a little. When we were finished checking out the food trucks & vendors we were ready to cool down a little & look at some old cars so we headed into the car museum to see what they had to offer. I will be doing a review on the museum soon as well so keep an eye out for that.

Above you can see all of the goodies we picked up from a few of the vendor booths we stopped by. There were three other small stickers we grabbed as well however I forgot to include them in the photo. The group that put together this event has two other upcoming events the North Phoenix Asian food festival & the Arizona Nom Nom Noodles festival both of which are within the next month. Information on both can be found on their website Phoenix Food Festivals

Monster Jam Glendale Review!

Monster Jam recently came through again on one of their yearly trips to sunny Arizona! The event took place at the State Farm Stadium. Even if you aren't the biggest fan of monster trucks, this is such a fun event to attend just due to the amazing skills the drivers have & how interactive they try to make the event for everyone in attendance. If you are a big fan or have kids that love the show, they also sell tickets for an event that goes on prior to the start of the event called The Pit Party. It takes place several hours before the actual show starts so that they can get everything from the pit party moved out off of the track before the event starts.

The pit party gives you a chance to go down onto the track and see all of the trucks up close. Not only can you see the trucks, but all the drivers have their own booths set up where you can get an autograph & photo with them. They also have a few free zones such as coloring pages for the little kids, a sand box where they can play with monster truck toys, they have food for sale and more. The pit party runs from 2:30pm-5:30pm with the actual show starting at 7pm. We are lucky & the Glendale stadium they host the event at is right next to a shopping center that has restaurants and more. We like to get to the pit party shortly after it starts & usually spend about an hour to an hour and a half, then we leave our car parked in the parking lot and walk over to the shopping center to play some arcade games and grab dinner before the show.

The show itself is always fun to watch because you never know what is going to happen! Sometimes there are wrecks, and sometimes when you think one of the drivers is done for they are able to save themselves at the last month. This time around we saw tires go flying off the trucks, trucks that caught on fire, pieces of trucks going flying and more. It is crazy to see everything the trucks go through and sometimes they will even show the crews working on the trucks up on the big screen so you can see the amount of work that goes into the trucks between each run.

To make the event even more interactive for the fans, they have a website & three-digit code you can plug into your phone which will allow everyone to rate each truck after it's run with a score from 0-10. After a short period of time goes by after each driver is finished it will show the score the driver received based off of the average score everyone in the stadium who voted gave. Some of the over-all scores were on point and others were surprising. We had a great time at the show & always look forward to when they come to town again.

A few tips for parents! This event can get quite loud, you can hear the trucks from out in the parking lot so for smaller children it would be a good idea to bring a pair of ear protection covers for your children. Most stadiums such as the stadium we went to only allow clear bags in, so make sure to check ahead of time so you won't need to walk back to your car to leave your purse behind. They will stadium approved bags online and also at stores such as Walmart. Venue food and drinks can get pretty expensive especially if you have more than one child so it is a good idea to have dinner before heading to see the show.

Munchie Mountain - Get Munchies delivered right to your door!

Munchie Mountain is a subscription box for all of you who are sweets & snack lovers! They offer a monthly subscription box for $49.95 a month. Each box will contain anywhere from 50-75 snacks of various sizes ranging from chocolate to chips. This month you will receive a Halloween themed snack box that includes items such as chips, popcorn, chocolate and much more. If you aren't really someone who is interested in a subscription box, they also offer boxes for one time purchase, they range in price from $34.95-$39.95.

I was lucky enough to receive one of the October boxes to check out & write a review on. My family & I are very happy with this box it is a great size for the four of us to share and each have something we enjoy in the box. It is still slightly hot out where I am, so after I had opened it and saw there was chocolate included, I popped the whole thing into the fridge to harden the chocolate again. I love that almost everything included had a Halloween theme or was a snack sized version like you would get out Trick-Or-Treating! I know it is silly, but I thought the mini bag of Doritos was so adorable, I've never seen a bag that small.

If you order this subscription box & are single or just a couple you can probably make this box stretch out for a while. For a family it works as well, there are four of us in our house and when we go to grab a munchie we might only grab one or two little treats at a time so this will last us for about two weeks with the kids also taking one or two things with them to school in their lunch boxes.

They even included a few non-food items which were some vampire teeth & Halloween stickers which my kids have been having fun with. Is the box worth the price point? I think that entirely depends on your budget and also what is included in the box. If it was nothing but the tiny Halloween candies, I would say probably not. However, there are some larger sized items and the assortment included in this was fantastic. Breaking it down everything in this box comes out to about $0.66 each as there are 75 pieces in this particular box. Everything was well packaged & arrived in one piece, I think a snack box would make a fun gift for a birthday or holiday surprise.

What do you think? Is this a subscription box you'd subscribe to, or would you just order a single box to try it out?

Desert Breeze Hummingbird Habitat in Chandler, AZ - Free to Visit!

It is finally the time of the year when the weather is going to start cooling down, so I want to share a spot where you can watch hummingbirds along with other bird species and small critters. Best of all, it is free! In Chandler, Arizona there is a small hummingbird sanctuary that sits next to a public park. There is plenty of parking at the park, you will just need to walk across a small street to reach the sanctuary which is called Desert Breeze Hummingbird Habitat. It is located at 4700-4724 W Desert St, Chandler, AZ 85226. It is tucked away near a neighborhood so aside from a little noise from the park next door or the occasional car that drives by this spot is quiet and relaxing.

The area features an iron archway, a lovely pond with mini waterfall feature, a large iron tree with seating along with a small walking area with seating. We visited back in early May, it was the start of the hot months so we didn't see as many birds as you could on a cooler day, the time of day you go is also a big factor. This would be a great spot to visit whether you are by yourself or with your family. Families with small children could even use it as an opportunity to teach your children about some of the local wildlife & plants.

We enjoyed sitting & watching all of the birds and the stroll around the habitat was lovely. All of the plants and flowers are kept nicely trimmed and maintained. This is a great spot to go sit with a coffee in one hand and your camera in the other, it can be quite calming just sitting and enjoying the nature around you. I enjoyed the variety of flowers that were planted here, it gave us a chance to see the cute little bees above rolling around inside of the flowers. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend stopping by to check this spot out.
