Lucas Oil Boat Racing!

***This is not a paid post, I will be receiving complimented tickets in exchange for this post. All opinions about this show are my own and may vary from others.****

You may have seen a post I made about a month ago about the Lucas Oil boat races headed to AZ, I wanted to share some of my photos from the event with you. The boat races were held at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park which was easy to find, near plenty of places to stop for a drink or food and offered lots of parking. There was also another car race going on in the lot across from the boat racing so we had the chance to see some powerful racing cars.

Everything was pretty open at the event, all passes included access to the "pit" area which is where all the racers had their trailers set up, you could see them working on their boats, ask them questions or just walk around to see what was going on. Ford was also there doing test drives of their back -up camera system and there was a few nice model cars as well. All of the boats were fast, some of them reaching 150+ MPH and boy were they loud!

There was a lot of down time in between each batch of races which can take some time so during that time you can sit and chat or you can walk around, all of the kids seemed to be in a good mood despite a long wait time or two one of which included a rescue of a boat that sank. There were also Jet ski races along with the actual boat races which were fun to watch as well. If you are in the area around the Wild Horse Pass area or if the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Races heads towards you I suggest going and checking it out with your family it is a unique experience.

$25 Ulta GC + Makeup Goodie Bag!

I absolutely love the holiday season, the weather is nice and chilly so it is the perfect time to drink a Hot coco or eat a bowl of soup without feeling like you are going to over heat. All the neighbors start to decorate their homes with Christmas lights as do the stores and shopping malls. Plus there is lots of shopping to be done, and fun family activities to attend. Some of my best memories are of my grandmother taking me and my cousins around to look at Christmas lights and baking Christmas cookies.

But those aren't the only things I like about the holiday season, I also like giving things to others and I know many of you here love makeup so I've put together a goodie bag to kick off the holiday season! It includes a gift card, lots of makeup samples and even a goodie for the guy in your life.

What is one of your favorite things about the Holiday season?

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky winner will win the prize pack shown above! Included is a Ulta makeup bag stuffed with goods from companies including IT cosmetics, Ulta, Hask and more, as an added bonus you will also get a bottle of cologne for your man (or brother/friend) and a $25 Ulta gift card which will be emailed to you!

Trash to useful again!

Sometimes in my free time I enjoy working on little craft project and wanted to share one with you that I did recently. My work had an old white board that they didn't want anymore because it had a big gash in the board along with a few chips and the markers were starting to stain the board, they were going to toss it out, but I remembered I had a can of chalk board paint at home. So I asked them if I could bring it home, once I had a day off and the weather was nice I set to work re-doing the board.

Before spraying it with the chalk board paint I made sure to use painters tape to cover the wood frame so that it would still look nice after I was finished. This was the first time I was able to use this can of chalk board paint, I've had it in my closet for a few months but couldn't find something I wanted to use it on until now. The paint was easy to use, it is used just like a can of spray paint you simple hold the can 4-6" away from the board and use a left to right motion to cover the board. I suggest using chalk board paint outside as it does have a similar scent to spray paint. I let it dry for 24 hours then I added a second coat to make sure everything was covered in the chalk board paint and let it sit for another 24 hours before I let the kids use it.

The chalk paint works wonderful and I think this small project turned out great, as you can see from the photo above my kids love it as well. I have a six year old in kindergarten who likes using this board for math and showing her little brother how to spell, and I have a two year old who is simply happy just being able to scribble all over and doodle as he pleases plus they get to play with chalk in the house so it makes them extra happy. So before you throw out that old white board that doesn't work properly anymore consider turning it into a chalk board and give it a second life!

What was the last craft you did?

Lily Nily Giveaway & Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Lily Nily for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

When my daughter was younger she never liked to wear jewelry so I didn't buy her a lot of it, heck the girl has her ears pierced but as soon as she was old enough to start talking she wanted them out and hasn't had them back in since. It wasn't until recently that she started to like jewelry so I wanted to look for something that was girly, appropriate for a six year old girl but was also well made. When I found Lily Nily I knew I found a company that offered exactly what I was looking for.

I was originally going to surprise her by picking out a necklace for her but then I realize she might want a bracelet to wear to school instead so I let her pick out what she wanted to help me review. After looking around on their website and after a lot of debating my daughter decided on the butterfly link bracelet. Not only did Lily Nily send her the bracelet she had picked out but they were also kind enough to send the butterfly link necklace that they sell as well, she was over the moon when the package arrived for her to open. The jewelry arrived in a cute pink box with hearts all over the box, inside she found her necklace and squealed with delight. The necklace and bracelet are beautiful, dainty, light weight and sturdy perfect for any little girl. Not only does Lily Nily sell necklaces and bracelets but they also offer watches, rings and earrings. I think that a charm bracelet or necklace would make a great birthday or holiday gift, the bracelets are $40 each and necklaces are $35-$60 depending on which you get. The jewelry is brass with 18k gold plating, and a lobster clasp, each item on their website is hand painted and high quality.

Chewy.com Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy for the review free of charge.****

Almost everyone you meet who owns a pet will tell you that their pet is like a child to them and thus they like to spoil them when they can, I can personally tell you that my cat is quite spoiled and part of that is because he is extremely picky about what he eats. I am always on the look for new foods he will eat that are healthy and don't cost an arm and a leg.

I was recently sent the Wellness TruFood Tasty Pairings with Chicken, Pumpkin & Turkey grain-free cat food along with Simple Solutions Cat Litter. I was whole heartidly unsure if my cat would eat this food or not, but I was pleasantly surprised that not only did he like it but he loved it and ate the entire thing not leaving a single drop of liquid or food behind in the container. I like how this cat food is packaged and it doesn't have an overly powerful smell like some cat foods do, I also like the packaging design because it looks nice. This cat food does cost slightly more than I currently pay for my cats food at $37.99 for a 24 pack of 3oz cups, however with the other cat food I purchase he never finishes the entire thing and I feel like I end up throwing away half of each one.

The kitty litter did cover up my cats scent when he used the bathroom, however our litter box is located in our bathroom and when my son accidentally spilled a decent amount of bath water onto the littler it gave off an odd smell that filled the room. I wouldn't say it was a bad smell per say because it didn't smell like kitty business but it did have a house hold cleaner smell to it. The litter was easy to scoop and clumped well, you will use less of this litter than you would on other brands.

Do you have pets? If so are they spoiled?

Treats Subscription Box Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Treats for the review free of charge.****

I don't know a single person who doesn't like some kind of snack whether it is chocolate, nuts or pretzels everyone has their own favorite, I personally love chocolate covered almonds and cashews the most but I am always up for trying new treats. What is a better way to try new treats then to subscribe to a subscription that specializes in providing it's subscribers with new and interesting treats from around the world? A Subscription box called "Treats" does just that, they go out an seek new, interesting and yummy treats to share with their subscribers. I received the chance to test out one of these boxes and will be hosting a giveaway for one in December so remember to keep an eye out for the post. My packaged arrived quickly and included a very sweet note on an adorable card which can be seen below.

I've received snack subscription boxes in the past, and let me start off by saying "WOAH". I've never had a snack subscription box arrive that has felt as heavy as this which indicates there is some good stuff in the box. The box I received featured snacks from Serbia & Croatia, there were twelve different types of snacks/treats in this box, a few had more than one of that specific snack in the box. I also had a bonus chocolate hippo from Germany in my box that was almost too cute to eat. The subscriptions are $12.95 for a standard box or $24.95 for the premium box which is the one I received. For the price I can say it is completely worth it as the amount of snacks you receive come out to more than what you pay, plus you get to experience new treats you may have never known about otherwise. I like the variety of snacks included it wasn't just all chocolate or all chip like products like other subscription boxes.

There were pretzel sticks, chocolate covered marshmallows which were like smores, chocolate cookies which were similar to macaroons, chocolate, and more! If I had to select a favorite out of this box I would say I liked the Tortica Wafer the most because it reminded me of a waffle ice cream cone and a Kit-Kat at the same time. My fiance really enjoyed the Kidy Coconut Desert because he is a big coconut candy fan, the kidy coconut desert had a texture like a twix bar but had coconut instead of caramel. The kids pretty much liked everything because they like chocolate, between the four of us there was plenty of snacks to go around and we had snacks to try for about a week before everything was gone. If you are someone who likes to snack but limits how many snacks they eat in a day then this box will last quite some time for you, if you have more than one person in the house it can also last a few days after you receive it depending on how much you want to eat at once. I highly recommend checking out their website if you are a big fan of snacks, their boxes would also make a wonderful gift for the holidays.

What is your favorite kind of Snack?

October LootCrate Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

Yay! It is that time of the month again when I get to share the latest LootCrate box with you. The October LootCrate theme was "Time" and features a number of wonderful products from movies and shows that are widely loved and well known for being an influence on pop culture.

This months crate included an Exclusive Back To The Future Dr. Emmett Brown vinyl Funko Pop figure, an exclusive Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure T-shirt, A exclusive Back To The Future part 2 hoverboard replica, A exclusive Doctor Who spork utensil that looks like a Sonic Screwdriver, and the month collectible pin. I really like the Dr. Emmett Brown Funko Pop because not only is he cute but it is a LootCrate exclusive so you could only get him if you received this box, or if you buy it from someone who received Octobers box. The Sonic Screwdriver spork is neat as well although I can see a lot of Dr. Who fans using it as a collectors item instead of using it to eat food with, I know i wouldn't want this to get ruined because of washing it and using it frequently. When it comes to their shirts I suggest ordering a size one size larger than you normally wear, the shirts they sent with the monthly boxes seem to run slightly small. All the products including in this box are high quality and look great as well.

LootCrate ships to the US,Canada,The United Kingdom and Australia. Loot Crate is $13.95 a month [plus $6 S/H] the site guarantees $30+ worth of goodies in your box You can sign up for just a one time box or you can sign up for 6 months to a years worth of boxes & you can use the code “LunaMoon10” you will receive 10% off of your purchase price. What do you think might be in Next months box?

Tropical Valley Foods Giveaway & Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Tropical Valley Foods  for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

Every year on Halloween my fiance and I like to stay up late after Trick or Treating with the kids to watch horror movies, but what is a movie night without any snacks? I was recently sent a box of various dark chocolate covered goods from a company called Tropical Valley Foods, and they are all wonderful! Who is Tropical Valley Foods? Here is a little info on their company "Tropical Valley Foods was founded in 2001 by Eric Bertheau. At first, they started with a small production unit in Haiti, producing only organic dried mango. Dried bananas followed and gradually they grew to produce a variety of tropical organic dried fruits."

For the review I received Dried Mango, Dried Coconut, Dark chocolate Coconut, Dark Chocolate Bananas, Dark Chocolate Ginger, Dark Chocolate Blueberries, Dark Chocolate Quinoa and Dark Chocolate Almonds. My family was excited to try all of these out including the Quinoa and the ginger because those are two things we've never tried before. My fiance is a big fan of coconut and dark chocolate so he was excited to see both the dark chocolate coconut and the dried coconut chunks. My family enjoyed all of these products but the top three favorites were the bananas, almonds and blueberries which all went first. The coconut pieces can not only be eaten as is but you can also slice them up to add to salads, marshmallow mixtures and more. Each bag holds quite a bit in it, we are a family of four and the bags lasted us three to four days if we each just had a few after dinner. In the third photo shown above you can see how the dark chocolate banana pieces look when held in your hand, there is a variety of banana piece sizes in the bag which is perfect for my toddler since he had a hard time biting into the larger slices but loved the smaller pieces. The fourth photo shows the dark chocolate quinoa which is something I've never tried before, I actually highly enjoyed them because they were almost similar to a crunch bar in texture but had more of a coco taste to them. Sadly at this time their products can only be found at local retailers and can not be purchased online unless you are a retailer, however you can contact them to find out what stores near you carry their products. I can personally see this brand being sold in health food stores and local grocery stores in the future because they have high quality and great tasting products, I hope they continue to grow and hope to see them in a store near me soon. Their customer service is friendly, response quickly and always kind when responding to emails.

Prize Alert:
One lucky winner will receive a similar mixture of products as shown above, the prize will be picked out by Tropical Valley Foods.
