Little Marvel Designs Giveaway & Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Little Marvel Designs for the review & giveaway free of charge.****
I've always loved having plants in my house, but sadly even trying my best to keep them alive there wasn't enough sunlight in the apartment to keep them alive. Now that I live in a house with a large glass sliding door and big kitchen windows my plants have plenty of room to live and thrive but I don't really have the space for all of the plants I want so I've had to start thinking about unique ways to display my plants. A great Etsy shop called Little Marvel Designs was the answer to my search, store owner Heather sells a wide assortment of macrame plant hangers and wall decor. I should note my plant holder may look a little silly in the photo below, this is due to my own fault because I was overly excited about the pot holder I found while at the store and I didn't realize it was too big for the size macrame I have. For my review I receive a small Macrame hanging planter with a turquoise daisy decoration.

This is made from hand-knotted jute color poly cord and wood beads, the small is made to fit a 4.5" pot and saucer as you can see from the photo above I was silly and bought a pot way too big, granted it fits but it sits unevenly so I will need to buy the proper sized pot. It is completely hand made and is tied and knotted completely by hand, Heather did a beautiful job and I like the color combinations she selected for the wooden beads. The materials used to create this are sturdy, the rope is strong and can hold a decent amount of weight plus it was knitted onto a heavy duty metal ring so it will fit onto any size hook, once it is hung up it isn't going anywhere so you know your plant is safe. The small macrame is only $15 which is a complete steal for a handmade plant holder that doubles as a decor piece, I can't wait for my guests to see mine! I was also sent a Mermaid art print which features a Mermaid floating in a crescent moon surrounded by seashells.

The original art piece was made using only colored pencils, all the colors are soft almost pastel in color. I love how she was able to create the crescent shape of the moon because when you see the print in person it has a bit of a 3d effect to it which really makes the print pop. There are a lot of fine details in this print from her seashell hair comb to the star fish and plants on the moon. This is a great print for any Mermaid or mystical creature lover the piece is calming to look at and adds a bit of magic to the room. The print arrived in a plastic sleeve set on top of a thick piece of cardboard to help prevent it from bending during shipping, both items were wrapped in pretty green tissue paper. Heather has been quite friendly and is more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the products sold in her shop. Stop by her shop to see the other fantastic goodies her shop has in store for you!

Orglamix Giveaway & Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Orglamix for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

I enjoy bright and colorful eye shadow looks but I've never really used a lot of glitter shadows mainly because I didn't want to make a big mess in my bathroom but I recently decided to take the plunge and experiment with some glitter shadows. A wonderful cosmetics company called Orglamix agreed to send me a 5 pcs grab bag of their cosmetic glitters. Store owner Cheri is always a delight to speak with because she is sweet, speedy at responding and always likes to make sure her customers are happy. Orglamix isn't a new company to me, in fact I own quite a few of her regular loose pigment eye shadows and I love them so I was very excited to try out her glitters as well. Each jar of glitter comes with a little sifter inside (it arrives with a protective cover so you won't be getting a big glitter mess when you first open the jar) and a screw on top, each jar contains 2.5 grams of glitter, the jars are pretty sturdy I've accidentally dropped mine from off the counter before onto the floor and nothing was wrong with the container, I do want to note that from time to time the lid doesn't want to go on correctly so you'll have to try once or twice to get it on straight. Which five colors did I receive in my grab bag? I will be writing about them in the order that they appear on my hand below in a left to right order.

Red Red Wine -  I like the color of this glitter but the name throws me off a little, mainly because when I think of red wine I think of more a maroon color instead of a shimmery purple. It could also just be my eyes not wanting to pick up on the red though as the website lists it as being "deep red wine metallic glitter that flashes an array of purple grape sparkles". This was the first glitter I tested out and I  paired it with a light black and silver eyeshadow look and it was quite lovely.

Under Pressure - I love the name of this and the color! It is a bronzed golden color with slight hints of red. I think this would be perfect to pair with a Gryffindor inspired makeup look because it suits their house colors perfectly.

Lost In Love - This is listed as a "pink iridescent glitter that flashes an array of golden peach, emberglow orange and metallic red hot sparkles" on the website. It has a  soft angelic pink with shimmery tones, you can pick up on the peach and a bit of the red although you can't quite tell in the photo. This is a nice soft shade of glitter that would go well with several looks and will be nice for quick and simple every day looks which is perfect for work.

Sailing - My favorite color is blue so naturally this is my favorite of the five, but not only do I love it because it is blue but it also has bits of purple glitter which you can make out in the photo. This shade reminds me of Sulley from Monsters Inc. and I think it would be perfectly suited for a Mermaid inspired look.

One Night In Bangcock - This is listed as a "ultrafine chartreuse yellow green opaque glitter." it has a shimmery lime green color that reminds me of wasabi. I am not completely sure what kind of look I want to try this with yet, but it is a fun shade that I can't wait to play around with.

The set arrived in a cute little pink bag and there was a Tea bag included which I thought was a nice touch. You can use the glitter without a glitter glue but I highly suggest getting some before using this product so that it sticks and stays through out the day. If you hadn't noticed all of the shades are named after songs, and yes I did get quite a few of these songs stuck in my head during the duration of writing this review. When using this product I didn't notice a ton of fall out while applying the glitter, there was a little which is expected with any loose pigment but my face wasn't covered in glitter once I was done using this product. The glitter is fine enough that it is non irritating you can hardly even feel that it is there which is awesome because some glitters are too thick which makes it feel like it is grinding into your skin and it is just the opposite with this. Removal is easy as well, I didn't have any issues getting the glitter off, I was able to go about my normal cleansing routine. Orglanix also sells foundation, concealer, eye liner and more and best of all it is all Vegan, Cruelty Free, Natural & Organic made from all natural ingredients.

Once I get a chance to experiment with these glitters some more I will post a picture or two on Instagram of how they look!

Prize Alert:
One lucky makeup lover is going to win a grab bag that contains 5 cosmetic glitters!

Chewy.com Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Chewy.com for the review free of charge.****

When it comes to my pets I like making sure they are well taken care of, they are part of the family so why shouldn't they be treated the same as any other family member that you love? We are always picking up toys and treats for them, At food time they get dry food but we also mix in a bit of wet food with it to make it taste better. It is no surprise that I am naturally drawn to Chewy.com because they carry one of the largest selections of pet products all at great prices and I am sure you've seen their adorable commercials.
Every so often I receive the chance to work with Chewy to review some of the products they carry, this month I was sent Cesar Dry Dog Food + Variety Case of wet food and Fancy Feast Poultry & Beef  Feast Variety Classic Pate Canned Cat Food. As soon as I walked into the house with the package Sulley Monster knew what it was right away and was excited to test out the food. Our review of the three products we receive are as follows:

Cesar Dry Dog Food -  We received was a 2.7LB bag, the dog food smelled decent and the dogs really seemed to enjoy eating it, I like that they offer a few different flavors and that the bag can be resealed to keep the food fresh. This bag of dry dog food sells for $5.49 on their website or $5.22 if you have an Autoship with them.

Cesar Club Variety Cube Dog Food Trays - We received a 24 count of wet dog food, the portions may look a bit small but they are actually the perfect size for our two dogs since they get it along side a portion of dry food. Sulley Monster was quite happy to eat it right out of the container in order to snap a few photos as you can see above. The lids are easy to get off but with most wet dog foods the smell isn't too pleasant but it can easily be washed off if you get any of the gravy on your hands. The package contains four different flavors this way your dog won't get bored of the same flavor over and over again. This sells for $16.88 per case ($0.70 per can) or $16.04 ($0.66 per can) if you have an Autoship set up.

Classic Pate Canned Cat Food - We received a 24 count of wet cat food in three different flavors, each portion size is perfect for a daily meal for any cat. If you want to watch out for how much your cat is eating at once you can even give them half in the morning and the other half in the evening that way they are spacing their food out a bit and aren't feeling sick from eating to much or too quickly. The cans are easy to open and the smell isn't too bad. This sells for $12.74 on their website so $0.53 per can and you can get free one day shipping on any orders over $49.

Shipping is always speedy and everything is packaged well to keep it safe during it's travels, being able to order my pets food through Chewy is quick and convenient plus for those who are sometimes forgetful you can set it up to where it will automatically send you a new shipment on a certain date that way it can arrive even before you run out of food or treats.

My Birthday is coming up in seventeen days so to celebrate I will be giving away two gift cards to one of my readers to not only celebrate my birthday but to celebrate how amazing my readers are. What will I be doing for my birthday? I am unsure at the moment, we usually go see a movie and go out for dinner. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 comes out the day before my birthday so I know that is what I would like to go see this year, as for dinner I have to wait and see how I am feeling by then on the last day of this month I will be getting some wisdom teeth removed so I don't know it it will be healed by my birthday weekend. I can be a little cheap at times so I also like stopping by a few of the places that do birthday freebies, such as a free large coffee from Dunkin Donuts and a free sub for lunch. It can be a lot of fun so if you like free stuff I'd check out which stores in your area do the same thing. Alright I know what you're thinking, I came here for a giveaway not for your birthday plans!!! So let's get onto the good stuff.

P.s
Keep an eye out for tomorrows giveaway if you love makeup because someone is going to win a set of cosmetic glitter jars.

Parragon Book Reivew! Book Buddies Program.

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Parragon for the review free of charge.****

I always love going out to my mail box and checking the mail because it is fun to see what shows up each day, one of my favorite things to find in the mail once a month is my Book Buddies box from Parragon who sends out a small assortment of books each month for my kids and I to review together. We are a couple of book worms so the kids love seeing what's in the box just as much as I do so we all open it together. The prices of the books vary from store to store, they can be found at Barnes and Nobles plus other locations check their website to see what store closest to you carries Parragon books.

This months theme was centered around activity books which is perfect for us because we are always out doing something so these books will come in handy for car rides, in fact the night we received this box the kids each brought a book with us when we went out for dinner that way they weren't bored while we waited for the food to arrive. What was in this months box?

Paw Patrol Marshall Saves The Day - In the box we received this month this is the only one that is an actual book and not an activity book. My son is a fan of Paw Patrol so he was pretty happy to see this book, it is a beautiful hardcover that has bright colorful pages that are eye catching and the book makes for a fun read. As a bonus this comes with a Marshall key chain, I do wish it was attached in another way though instead of being in the cover itself because it leaves a big hole behind after you remove the key chain.

Peppa Pig Little Piggy Puzzles - This activity book is packed full of Peppa Pig themed things to do such as helping collect groceries, coloring in costumes for George, mazes and more. This is another item that came with a bonus gift which is a small pink straw with a Peppa Pig plastic decoration attached. It has 48 pages and it is easy for a four year old to use which is a big plus especially since they are at the age when they are distracted easily.

The World of Eric Carle press out and play - I think this is my favorite out of what we received this time around, it has 32 pages that have thin cardboard pieces that you color then pop out and put together to create 3D figures. The pieces are very easy to put together and the instructions are easy to understand, my eight year old daughter had a blast with this set and I like that it kept her entertained for quite a while because you are able to play with the animals after you build them. This book included a set of Crayons.

Disney Princess springtime wonders - This book contains 44 pages which are split up, the first half of the book features a number of fill in the scene pages which are in full color and has spots where you can place stickers from the front of the book (50 are provided) which is a lot of fun for younger children. The part of this book is coloring and activity pages, all of which are in the traditional black and white. We counted eight actual activity pages where it asks you to do something, the rest are regular coloring pages. I like that they included an assortment of Princess photos to color in this so there is something for everyone. This comes with a bonus code for a free Disney digital storybook.

Disney Princess color & Activity Daffodils & Dances - 48 pages with 1 page of stickers, with 4 jumbo crayons. My daughters favorite part of this book was being able to design Cinderella's dress because she loves being creative, so we enjoyed the fact that it wasn't just a boring old coloring book with nothing else to do. It has a nice assortment of photos, some have a little less to color than others and some have more which we enjoy. This comes with a bonus code for a free Disney digital storybook.

Pixar Doodle Book - This is also one of my favorite items that came with this months box because of all the adorable stickers it has on the first two pages. It has an assortment of over 100 stickers and it comes with 200+ pages to color, complete and stick stickers on this is definitely a thick book and is the best one for extra long road trips. It has a large collection of the various Pixar characters from older characters like the Toy Story crew to newer characters such as Inside out and The Good Dinosaur.

Disney Princess 8x8 Activity Book Spring Sunshine - This is the smallest out of the set height wise but it still contains 32 pages of fun and is strictly a activity book there are no coloring pages included. The whole book is in full color and the pages look great. It includes two pages of stickers, one page is for "reward stickers" that you can put on each page your child completes and the second page is for what ever you would like them to be on. The back of this book has a pop out play scene that has Princess Belle and woodland creature friends for her to talk with plus this comes with a bonus code for a free Disney digital storybook.

Medieval Times Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The event mentioned below has been provided by Medieval Times for the review free of charge. I was given four complimentary tickets to enjoy the show.****

We are always on the look out for new, fun and unique things we can do as a family so when I was presented with the opportunity to visit Medieval Times in Buena Park, CA I couldn't refuse. What is Medieval Times? It is an amazing dinner tournament show where you are served food while you sit and enjoy a live action Medieval Times performance. Adults cost $61.95 per person and children are $36.95 which seems like a lot right? If you break it down you are provided with a full meal, two rounds of drinks, plus dessert and coffee on top of getting a two hour show so I'd say the price is well worth it. Alcohol and souvenirs are not included in the price, you can also buy tickets to the torture museum for an additional fee. The alcohol prices range depending on the type of drink and the type of cup you select, my step-dad bought a beer which he said was about $15 and he got to keep the cup. The staff members did not know I would be writing a review on my blog so we weren't treated any differently than you would going to the show, everything written below is from my own personal experience and may vary from others.

We were asked to arrive an hour before the show began to make sure our seats were placed together, we received four complimentary passes to the show and we purchased the rest. Upon arriving you are sorted into a colored area and given a crown to match where you will be seated, the color you are given represents the knight you will be cheering for. After arriving we had a while to walk around and wait for the show to start so we bought tickets to the torture museum, some may be a bit squeamish with some of the devices shown and may not want their small children asking questions about it so before you go I'd decide whether you'd like to enter or not. My children did alright, my son is still small enough he was just paying attention to the swords, my daughter is a bit older and thought everything in there looked crazy and I am sure we are all glad those devices are no longer in use. Exiting the torture museum we popped out in the courtyard which was beautiful and decorated with Christmas lights and was well maintained. The next leg of the walk brings you into the great hall where there are weapons on display, a bar, souvenirs, a view of the horses stalls, a chance to see the hawks before the show and more! They had so many fantastic souvenirs, I love dragons and fairy tale creatures and they sure had quite the selection I wanted to buy them all but alas I don't think my wallet would approve of that, we did how ever get a light up sword for my son and a light up necklace for my daughter. If you arrive an hour before the show and have small children I suggest bringing something  for them to do in case they get a little board or a snack as our kids were pretty antsy to eat by the time we were called into the tournament space.

Unless you are traveling with a rather large party you will be seated in a row with other guests, we had seven people in our party and had four other people at our table as well. There is plenty of room for everyone to eat in comfort but if you are someone who needs to go to the bathroom often I would suggest trying to sit on the end of the row, if you can't it wasn't too difficult to climb over the seat into the next row like you would at a baseball game. Your plates are already out when you arrive to your table and a hostess will come up after you are seated and explain how dinner will work. First you will start off with drinks, followed by different sections of your dinner which isn't served all at once instead they bring the soup first, followed by your bread and so on. I like that they did this because it allowed you to eat at a slower pace and enjoy the show while eating. There wasn't any silverware in the Medieval Times so you will have to use your hands, but no need to worry everything aside from the soup are all finger foods and isn't overly hot. During your meal you get two rounds of which ever drink you select from their menu then after dinner is done they will bring you a dessert and coffee if you so desire. They also provide you with a wet wipe cloth to cleanse your hands.

The show itself was wonderful, we were placed in the green section and though our Knight didn't win it was a blast cheering for him and booing the other knights that were against us. I can be a bit shy when it comes to getting loud or feeling like I look silly when at social events but here I just didn't care, it was so entertaining cheering along with the crowd everyone was shouting and having a jolly good time. Three times during the show the knights are tossed roses by the Princess that they can toss out to people in the crowed who go pretty crazy trying to get a flower, during the first round the knight had tossed all the flowers out but had noticed my daughter seemed quite sad not to get one, I didn't even notice! My mom was the one who told me afterwards. The second time around when our green knight was given more roses by the Princess to give out he tossed one to my daughter, she was so excited the pure look of amazement on her face was completely worth the cost of the ticket to get in. During the two hour show we watched jousting, sword fighting, horses dancing, a hawk soar around the room and more. It is truly a unique and wonderful experience for anyone of any age, Medieval Times has eight locations nationwide I highly suggest looking into the one closest to you or closest to where you plan on vacationing next and booking your tickets!

Influenster Origins VoxBox!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Influenster and Origins for the review free of charge.****

I recently received a Voxbox from Influenster containing a number of products from the new line by Origins a skin care solution company. The box included travel sized samples of five different products from their line, over the last week I have been testing them out and I am going to be sharing my experience here with all of you.

Checks & Balances -  This is a "frothy" face wash. It comes out of the container as a fluffy cream and you only need a very small amount, I've been using about a dime sized amount and it is the perfect amount for my face. The formula is a great consistency and feels light weight on your face, it doesn't feel greasy and it does not dry out my sensitive skin. The scent of it is hard to put a finger on, to me it smells like a minty sandalwood, it is a little odd but not unpleasant. This face wash has does wonders with my skin, it is currently "that" time of the month and normally at least a few break outs but this has helped keep everything under control and to me my pores actually look smaller. I love this face wash and I plan on buying a full sized bottle of this when my travel size is gone.

Clear Improvement - A Purifying charcoal mask. This charcoal mask formula is a bit thinner than others I have tried, I've found it takes a little more to get it even across my face. It is unscented which is nice because I don't always like for my facial products to be scented. Performance wise, I haven't really noticed a difference with this products and compared to other charcoal masks I've tried there really isn't a big "wow" factor to this product. I wouldn't purchase this product after the travel size is gone because for the price (1.7 oz for $17) it just isn't worth it to me.

High Potency night-a-mins - A overnight renewal cream. This has a light orange scent to it, it smells like how your hands do after you peel and eat an orange it isn't an overwhelming scent but more of a lingering orange scent. The formula feels a little thick on my face but after it dries and absorbs into my skin it feels refreshing and I can't tell the cream is there anymore. I do like that it leaves my face feeling refreshed and clean but it leaves my skin with a oily finish, if I run my fingers across my cheeks I can feel the oily substance which I don't really like and that is after using a thin sweep of this cream.

Ginzing Eye Cream - A Refreshing eye cream. This cream has a neat light pink coloring to it and it is unscented. The formula is thin and creamy, it absorbs into the skin nicely and doesn't leave any kind of greasy or oily film behind which is a big plus. I've used this twice in the morning because it is supposed to help brighten and depuff your under eye, I haven't noticed a big difference but it does make me feel a little better on mornings where I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before. The pink tone to the lotion gives your under eyes the look of having applied a highlighter.

Ginzing Moisturizer - A lightweight oil-free moisturizer. This is another product in their line that has the orange scent to it which is refreshing and it helps wake you up with its citrus scent. The formula is nice and light so it doesn't feel heavy on your skin, it also absorbs quickly leaving your skin feeling soft and moisturized.  I haven't noticed any kind of oily or greasy feeling form this products and I enjoy using it.

Hello Skywalker Giveaway & Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Hello Skywalker for the review & giveaway free of charge.****
My son is four years old and is in that stage where he is in between enjoying being a "baby" still and wanting to be a big kid like his older sister. I had a few cute nursery type animal prints in his room and he has slowly been out growing them and is ready for some better room decor so when I found Hello Skywalker on Etsy I was pretty excited because store owner Tristan had just what I was looking for. Hello Skywalker offers a number of wood wall plaques, and while each one is amazing in it's own rights I decided on the Flash plaque because my son enjoys The Flash and likes running around the house saying he is as fast as the Flash.

Each piece is made to order so you will need to wait about three weeks before your plaque arrives, it will take two weeks to create the piece and one week for it to ship from Canada. When this arrived it was packaged to where the tips of the lighting bolt were extra protected to help keep them from getting damaged during shipping. I did note that due to the paint on the lighting bolt and the sealant over the pictures that it did have a slight paint smell to it when I first opened it which isn't a big deal, if you plan on gifting this I would open the mailing package and let it air out  for a few moments before gifting it, after that there isn't any noticeable smell. This is completely normal with any products that have paint or a clear coating and is nothing to worry about, I just wanted to note it just in case anyone was worried after purchasing one and noticing anything scent wise.

The plaque itself is well made it is a single piece of wood that has been cut into the specific shape for the character it is featuring. I can't determine if the wood was sanded down after it was cut but it feels almost completely smooth on all the edges give or take a tiny spot or two but no one is going to be feeling it anyways so it is okay! I really like that she added a bit of texture along with the paint on the lighting bolt because it really helps bring life to it especially when the light hits it just right. The images around the exterior circle line up perfectly and there aren't any spots where the wood shows through, the clear coating on top of the images is clear, even and free of any blemishes which to me gives it extra points for being well made. I think she selected a great group of photos to use, there is a mixture of action shots from the side as well as straight on.It has a photo frame type hanger on the back and is light weight so a simple tack will hold it up. The plaque is sturdy enough that I feel like even if it did fall off of the wall somehow that no damage would come to this piece. This specific plaque is $57 plus shipping which I believe is a great price for a unique handmade home decor item, I've bought art pieces at comicon for similar prices that weren't as well made so I feel this is a very worth while art piece to purchase. Hello Skywalker also sells art prints, key holders and more!

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky winner is going to receive a $40 Gift card to Hello Skywalker towards the item of your choice! plus Free shipping :)
