Keep your feet warm with Fuzzy Babba!

When my little toes are chilly I usually put on a pair of socks, but why put on a normal pair of socks when I can put on a comfy pair of Fuzzy Babba slipper socks? They offer a variety of slipper socks for men, women and children so there is something for everyone. I was recently sent out a pair for my kids and myself to test out and we are loving them!

I received the Women's Fluffy knit slipper socks with pom poms that look like a Koala bear. They are a one size fits all slipper, I wear a size 9 to 9.5 in women's depending on the brand and these fit me just fine without any issues. The bottoms have small round non-slip grippers which help prevent you from slipping on tile and wood floors. The inside of the slipper socks have a plush sherpa liner that is not only comfortable on your feet but also quite warm! We went camping recently and I brought these with to wear inside of my sleeping bag and I am glad I did, during the night it was freezing and these helped keep my toes from feeling like they would fall off. The pom poms on the top are pretty cute, they giggle when you walk. I like that the pom poms seem to be quite secure on the slippers, each one is actually knitted onto the slipper vs being glued on like some companies like to do.

My son received the Kid's Camo print slipper sock in a small/medium. He was pretty excited to try them on that he wanted them on as soon as they were out of the bag. Like the slippers I received they also have a plush sherpa liner to help keep the feet comfortable and warm during the winter months.

Last but not least, my daughter received the Women's Glam Faux Fur socks with glittery kitty cat details in a M/L. My daughter is only eleven, but her feet are almost as big as mine so we decided to go with the women's slippers for her which fit perfectly. Instead of having a raised up knitted pattern like mine does, this pair of slippers has the cat details sewn into it. The faux fur is extremely soft, it feels silky smooth when you run your hands over it.

The sherpa liner helps keep your feet quite warm, when it gets a bit warmer in the house I usually end up taking these off for a bit if my feet feel a little too warm. They are perfect for wearing during the night and early morning when it tends to be chillier out. I can see these slippers lasting for many winters to come due to how well made they are, and price wise they aren't bad either. Each pair of slippers runs for about $12-$16 each plus they also sell booties and more, and at the moment there are quite a few pairs of slippers on clearance so you can get a pair for as low as $3.50-$6.

💖 Which of the three slippers above do you like the most? If you could have any animal on your slippers, what would you want?

A show worth checking out - Locke & Key on Netflix.

I am posting this slightly later than I meant too, but the show is still new enough that not everyone has heard of it. When I am at my day job, I am in a small quiet and chilly office all by myself (aside from co-workers stopping by my office through out the day). I do a lot of paper work, computer work and organizing/stocking products so when I am at my desk the quiet and cold can sometimes make me sleepy, to combat that I often listen to music or I watch something on my phone while I work.

I was recently scrolling through Netflilx and a show called "Locke & Key" popped up in the new section as something I would be interested in. I had never heard anything about the show prior to it popping up or the novel it is based on, but it looked intriguing so I gave it a go and I am glad I did! I was so enthralled by the show that I finished the whole first season in three days! My only disappointment was that there isn't more episodes.

What is the show about? Here is the quick summary from Netflix "Based on the best-selling graphic novels, Locke & Key follows 3 siblings who, after the murder of their father, move to their ancestral home only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities." It is rated TV-14, created by Joe Hill (son of Stephen King).

I thought the premise of the show was quite interesting and as you watch the show you are able to see and learn about some of these magical keys, along with some of the history of this curious family home. All of the keys shown (so far) are pretty crazy and thinking about the possibilities you'd be able to do with the keys is almost limitless. But not all is fun and games in the Key house as you'll find out through out the series, some of the keys have serious and deadly consequences. I enjoyed the cast they selected and highly enjoy the plot, though I was left asking myself some questions such as why the youngest child hardly ever seemed to go to school or why he always seemed to be left by himself during the day. The show managed to compose their episodes so that each episode was full of wonder, information and twists that keep you engaged and wanting to know what happens next. Are there any crazy creatures? You won't find any werewolves or vampires in this show, but there are some creepy magical beings that make an appearance. Locke & Key does show several deaths, one of which is the first thing you see when you start the show just an fyi for those who are a little squeamish about the subject. The show ended off on quite a cliff hanger, I am curious to see how everything works out in the second season and how the show will work out the twist ending. After I finished this I asked my mom if she had seen the preview for it, and she let me know that she had just finished it herself (in the same amount of time I did). I can't wait until new episodes are released!

If you haven't watched this yet and enjoy a good mystery that has a bit of a horror/thriller theme to it, this is a show you should look into.

If you have seen it, what do you think of it? What was your favorite part of the show so far, or which key that's been shown do you like the most? I'd be interested in using the Anywhere key, or the head key.

**This is not a sponsored post nor do I blog for Netflix, I really enjoyed the show and wanted to share it with my followers.**

Upcoming Releases from Walker Books!

Time to share some new reads! When I was younger I used to read a TON, and I've always tried to encourage a love of reading with my kids as well and it has stuck. The three of us love working with Walker Books U.S (A division of Candlewick Press) because we get to read and review new books through out the year. This time around we received a box of chapter books, there were quite a few so they will be broken up into two or three posts, this being the first of them. All of the books are recommended for ages 7-11, for a reference for these reviews and the ages of the children reading them, my son is seven and my daughter is eleven.

Some of these books have not been released yet, we have received advanced copies to read and review. The copies we received may have incomplete artwork and the cover images may change by the time the book is released, I will make a note at the bottom of the review with the books release date.

This is a cute series about a little girl named Jasmine Green and her life/adventures. Her father is a farmer, and her mother is a veterinarian which she aspires to be as well. In each story she rescues a small baby who may not have made it on their own, the piglet was the forgotten runt of the litter and the duckling was the only survivor after it's mother and nest were attacked. Both stories make for a fun, easy and great reads about how much of a difference a little kindness can make. My daughter enjoyed both books because she is also an animal lover and would do the same as Jasmine if but in the situation. Both of these books will be released next month, and are recommended for ages 7-9.

This book focuses on two brothers named Louie & Ralphie Ratsos, along with their Big City scout group. In this book of the series the group goes out on their first camping trip with their special guide Grandpa Ratsos. Throughout the book the scouts learn that camping isn't always the easiest and that it is alright to ask for help and work together when they need it. They may have started their trip off a bit rough but it turns out to be a great weekend.

We enjoy camping as a family so my kids were able to relate to this book, and knowing what its like to learn the ropes of putting together a camp site. This seems like an interesting series to read, and my kids want to know what other adventures the Ratsos brothers go on. This book is due to be released in May of this year, the series is recommended for ages 5-8.

This book focuses on a young girl named Darleen Darling and it takes place in 1914, Darleen is a star who is working on a new film. As part of a publicity stunt her studio sets up a fake kidnapping which ends up not being a set up at all! Along with Darleen another young girl is kidnapped and both set out on a adventure to escape their captors.

Unfortunately my daughter didn't finish this one, she aid it took quite a while for things to start to pick up which made her lose interest in the book. She made it about half way through before deciding to stop reading and instead pick up another. She may give it another try in the future but for now the book seems a little lack luster, I have read books like this in the past as well that have spots that are hard to get past, but once you try again it is usually worth it. So if she decides to pick this one back up I will update this review. This book is set to release in April of this year, it is recommended for ages 8-12.

📚 Which of the four books listed above seem the most interesting to you?

Skin care products by Skin Nation! Review part 1.

When I am looking at skin care products I like looking around for companies that create their products using natural ingredients and I love and support currently-free brands! So when I stumbled onto a brand called Skin Nation who creates products that are Cruelty-free, Organic and  natural. They create a large line of products for your face and body, and they also have a Men's line!

I was recently sent four different products to test out and review, I will cover two today and in a week or so I will cover the other two once I test them out a bit more. Today I will be covering the Scrubalicious Exfoliator and the Magic Masque, They also included a free scrubbing pad that is the perfect size.

The Magic Masque is designed to help keep your skin looking smooth, hydrated and dewy. It is made with natural ingredients and is gentle enough on your skin that you could use it on a daily basis. This product comes in a 2oz jar and retails for $40, 2oz isn't always a lot of product so is this product worth the price tag?

I was surprised just how smoothly this product applied, you need very little product to cover a large area of your face which means the product will last you a while depending on how often you decide to use it each week. The amount of product I used on my face only left a small area where you could tell product was taken out, you could apply the product with a brush if you wanted or with your finger which is how I applied it and I didn't have any issues. The mask is silky smooth and has a nice light scent to it that won't irritate your senses. It is also light weight so you'll hardly be able to tell you are even wearing a masque, the instructions say to leave it on for 5-7 minutes so I like using this before getting into the shower. I didn't have any skin irritation and the masque was easy to wash off with a bit of warm water and a cloth, my face was left feeling smooth and refreshed. When I woke up the next morning I could still note that my skin looked smooth and dewy.

Normally when it comes to "Scrubs" I like scrubs that you can actual feel the scrubbiness to it so I can feel the dead skin being washed away. This one doesn't really have that scrub to it that I look for, However even though to me it feels like more of a wash it does a really great job at cleaning my face. In fact instead of going for my favorite face wash recently, I've found myself reaching for this instead. As you can see in the photo it has a bit more of a face wash consistency to it than a scrub.

The scent is similar to the masque, it is a light fresh smell that helps you relax. My skin doesn't feel oily, tight or weighed down after using this product. Generally when "Aunt flow" comes to visit, I end up with a small break out like a lot of women experience, this time it wasn't so bad, I still had a blemish or two but they are easily controllable. It should be noted that this specific product has a note letting you know they use glycolic acid in this product which can make your face slightly sensitive to the sun, so you should use a light facial sunscreen while using this product (sunscreen is a great idea to use on a daily basis anyways!). I personally don't use this on a daily basis because I like having a day or two where I clean my face with just water so my pores can breath, but when I do use this my skin feels nice afterwards. This product comes in a 4oz bottle for $32, I do wish I had slightly more of the product in the bottle because I enjoy using it.

CDB lotion from Liberty Lotion Review + Giveaway!

By now you've heard of CBD products at least once, there are a number of products on the market made using this all natural ingredient that helps with various issues. I recently received some CBD lotions to try out from a company called Liberty Lotion who also carries lip balms and even oils for pets.

Want to know a bit more info on CDB? Here is some info from the Liberty Lotion website, "CBD is a substance found in a variety of plants and other sources, usually deprived from hemp. Scientific studies have indicated that CBD has shown great promise for relief and appears to also aid the body in it's natural regulation".

For my review I received a Infinity Lotion which contains 675 mg of CBD, along with a Limitless Lotion which is CBD free but it mimics similar benefits. Before getting into the review it is important to note that this is note a cure all, and I do not suggest using it on open wounds. Prior to use I was given a tip that to get the most out of the product that when applying instead of rubbing it in until it is gone, you should instead apply a thin layer and allow your skin to absorb the lotion.

For the last week or so my shoulder has been bugging me a bit as I slept on it wrong which can cause me to toss and turn a bit while I sleep. I decided to use this lotion on my shoulder last night to see if it would help. I was surprised that it did help ease the pain of my shoulder allowing me to have a better nights rest, and today my shoulder/neck pain doesn't feel nearly as bad as it has the last few days. I still have a bit of a knot in my shoulder but between a little message and with some help from this lotion it should feel completely better soon. This product can also be used on sore muscles, and bruises however at the moment I don't have either of those so I can not verify how effective they are with both issues. I think this lotion would be great to help relieve muscles after working out or after a hard day of work. I am excited to use this product more in the future.

I do have two things to be slightly nitpicky about, the constancy is a bit thinner than I thought so when you go to pump it sometimes the lotion tends to splatter. I'd keep your hand cupped when pumping out some of the lotion, or perhaps use a spray top vs the pump that is currently on the bottle. My second small thing is I am completely on the fence about whether I do or do not like the smell of the product, It has a bit of an earthy smell to it while also being slightly citric in scent.

Some of our favorite CMOP spots!

As part of the Playfluencer team at the Children's Museum Of Phoenix, I write a blog post each month featuring different areas, events or programs at the Museum. This month I wanted to highlight a few of our favorite things and spots at the museum.

The first stop on our trip is always the giant play structure when you first enter the museum. It is large enough for adults to fit in, but I want the kids to explore so they are free to play in it on their own. The play structure runs all the way to the top floor of the museum, and it has lots of different areas you can visit. Oddly one of my favorite parts about the play structure is a boat they have that has a bunch of legs/feet with different socks on sticking out from it, I also love the flying bathtub. You can see the bathtub in a photo on the post I made of 10 Reasons why you should buy a CMOP season pass.

My oldest is too big for this year now and my youngest is starting to get to that point, but they have a section with a "car wash" where the kids can ride a bike along a set path through a car wash. The whole area is really cute, and well done. There are lots of bikes in a few different sizes so your child is sure to have a lot of fun in this spot.

The reading spots! There are a few different reading nooks and spots to stop to enjoy a good book. They have this really cute mushroom shaped reading spot on the second floor near the fort building area. They have a small selection of books in the room, and more books in different areas of the museum. Upstairs is a small library area that has more seating and cushions to relaxing.

Okay so technically this next spot isn't a favorite spot for us, but I am sharing it because I love that they have the space for those who wish to use it. On the top floor near the library tucked away in a corner that is normally not as noisy as the rest of the museum, there is a nursing corner. The corner is a small room with a chair, table, etc and a curtain to pull across if you are in need of a spot to nurse your baby.

Puzzles, games and interactive spots. Through out the entire museum you'll find dozens of spots that are interactive along the hallways. You'll find musical instruments to play, a look and find spot, fake food carts and more. There is so much to do you'll want to spend more than a day here really enjoying everything.

Check back again next month and I will explore more of the museum with you! There is so much to see and do, I can't fit it all onto one post.

Lugz Sneakers for Men!

Usually when I think of Lugz, I think of boots and I know it is the same for many others but did you know they make sneakers as well? I was recently looking through their shoe selection and I was pleasantly surprised at the different styles and colors of sneakers they offer. My husband has been in need of a new good pair of sneakers so we decided to go with the Men's Typhoon Oxford Sneaker in Black/Red along with the color scheme we selected this shoe is available in four other colors.

The Typhoon sneakers have a chunky rubber sole that helps keep your feet protected from the elements and the shoes themselves appear to be made of leather. The shoes look like they would weigh a lot, but they are actually a lot lighter than you'd expect so they are easy to move around in.

My husband and I don't really like the way the shoes from Lugz are laced so we usually unlace them and lace them back up to how we like them, which is an easy task to do. I like that they include a little loop on the shoe to help hold the shoe tongue in place while putting on your shoes and walking.

The shoes offer plenty of arch support along with ankle support thanks to a cushioned insole and a thick cushion around where your ankle is. They are great for all day use, and look great for an everyday look and the all black shoe could even be used with a more formal attire. The stitching is just right and nothing looks out of place, they are extremely well made shoes that are sure to last through many years of wear. You can pick up a pair from Lugz for $59.99 along with dozens of other styles and colors!
