May LootCrate Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

The May LootCrate theme was 'Power' and it featured a number of products featuring what power means to LootCrate things that are unstoppable, unrelenting and unbeatable.

The crate included a Hulk Q-Figure, A Exclusive Warcraft  T-shirt, A exclusive Dragon Ball Z Key chain, A Infinity Gauntlet oven mitt, and the monthly collectable pin. Shortly after receiving the box I received an email letting me know the oven mitt wasn't quite up to par for use in the kitchen, the fabrics are a bit too thin and it wasn't protecting people from the heat so I was asked not to use the glove. It is nice they send out emails alerting people of any issues that might arise, this is the first time it has happened though, normally their products are well made and sturdy. When it comes to their shirts they run small so I would suggest buying one size above what you normally wear to make sure it fits correctly. Over all I was pretty pleased with the items in this box as were my kids, my son took off with the Hulk figure and my daughter kept the Dragon Ball Z key chain she was very excited to see it when we opened the box. My favorite thing about this subscription box is that there is usually something for everyone in our home.

April LootCrate Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

The April theme for LootCrate was "Quest". I do have to say I was a little disappointed in a way because mid last month I have received a letter saying it was the reveal for April's box and it would be a city themed box featuring games such as Bioshock and The Division which I was pretty excited about, but then I got another email a week later saying the box would be themed 'Quest" and featured other inspired shows and movies so I was a bit confused and haven't seen anything about it since. But I do have to say there are two things in this box that I was pretty excited about and that was Harry Potter and The Labyrinth.

The full inspiration for this months box was from Harry Potter, The Labyrinth, Vikings, DND, and Uncharted. One of the things I like about this box is that my kids like to re-purpose the boxes for their toys because the boxes can be turned 'inside out' which will turn it into a scene or a labyrinth as shown in the first photo above. This months box included a Labyrinth shirt which features King Jareth and Sarah along with other members of the cast, next up in the box was a Exclusive D20 ice mold which is fairly large and pretty neat. There was also a Vikings inspired drinking horn with strap, A pair of Harry Potter socks, A Uncharted mini poster and the monthly collectable pin.

What do you think might be in Next months box? May's theme will be "Power" and some of the things include will be from Marvel, Warcraft the movie and DragonBall Z.

LootCrate March '16 - Versus

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

It is time for one of my favorite posts, my monthly LootCrate review! The March theme was 'Verses' and it came with a decent amount of goodies, like all fandoms I enjoy some and the others not so much but I generally find I like at least half of each LootCrate I receive which I think is a pretty good percentage.

This months crate included the monthly collectable pin which is wonderfully made, they stepped up the pin game this year and the pins look 10 times better than they did before plus you can unlock Bonus loot with your monthly pin. This month Domestic Looters received a rental courtesy of VUDU of either Aliens or Predator, and International Looters received a AVP Three World War from ComiXology. Below you can see a comparison of the new pins (left, it is sitting on the card board backing) and the old pins (right) to see how far they've come, the old ones were just little round pins that had flimsy pins on the back. The new pins are metal and quite sturdy with a solid straight pin on the back, plus they are no longer round now they are in various shapes. The March boxes came with the pin shown below or the same one but gold.

The March box also came with a Mirror Mirror T-shirt, I am not a Star Trek fan so this item I wasn't excited about but I know some people were very excited to get it. I know I state it often but for those who may not have read my past reviews I want to note again that the shirts run small I would order one size larger than you normally wear or it might not fit. One of the products in this box I was pretty excited about was the Exclusice DareDevil/Punisher reversible beanie because I like both characters plus the hat looks great and is very comfortable. The crate also included a Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Mighty Wallet, A Alien VS Predator 4.5 inch mystery figure, and A Exclusive Harely Quinn comic book.

LootCrate February '16 Review

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

It is time again to share the latest LootCrate box with all of my lovely readers. Normally I avoid spoilers for what the next month's theme will be but I couldn't help myself when I heard a rumor the February box could contain Deadpool gear and sure enough the theme for February was "Dead" and it showed Deadpool sitting down posing with a skull in hand. I was pretty excited for the 19th to arrive so that I would get my shipping notification email letting me know my goods were on the way.

When I arrived home from work I spotted the LootCrate box sitting on my porch and I couldn't wait to get inside and open it, I had a busy day that day running errands but I made sure to put aside a few extra minutes to open this right away. As soon as it was opened I could tell it was a treasure trove of Awesome.

The first thing I spotted when I opened my box was a Deadpool figure and a Deadpool shirt, and as always as a note before I go any further please keep in mind the LootCrate shirts seem to run a bit small so if you are considering subscribing order a shirt one size larger than you normally wear. The figure came in two colors, most crates had the traditional Red Deadpool but a few had a rare White suit Deadpool. As you can see above I received the red Deadpool who is fiercely adorable and now lives on my computer desk along side my Yahtzee Claptrap.

LootCrate has made it to where everyone who received the February box doesn't have to worry about dropping the soap anymore by providing everyone soap on a rope. What makes this soap on a rope more unique than the others? It is in the shape of Daryl Dixon's ear necklace from The Walking Dead season 2's episode titled "Chupacabra". This crate also included a Walking Dead big head figure in a blind pack, I received Rick. The figure is somewhat adorable but not enough to get past it being a pain in the butt, for the life of me I could not get him to stand still even with the stand he came with because he was too top heavy and kept falling over. The box also included the monthly pin and I have to say I am absolutely loving these updated pins they look 100% better than the older version of the collectible pins.

January '16 LootCrate Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

I only liked half  of the January LootCrate box but my mother absolutely loved the half I didn't like, the theme for the month was "Invasion" and it featured a number of alien related products including a few X-files themed items. My mother was a big fan of The X-files when I was younger, but if I am being completely honest I didn't like one of the episodes scared me when I was little and after that I wanted nothing to do with that show.

The January box featured a X-files themed T-shirt, a Face hugger plush, a Space Invaders mini alien vinyl figure, a X-files flash light, a Multipass from the Fifth Element, a large rubber band, a set of batteries (for the flashlight), two mini posters and the monthly collectable pin.

My kids grabbed the face hugger right away because they thought he was cute and cuddly, if only they knew what face huggers were really like I don't think they would have been so fast to grab him and squish their face onto him. My favorite item was the Multipass, The Fifth Element was one of my favorite movies growing up and this brought back all the laughs and excitement I remember from watching the movie and it also made me want to watch it again since it's been a few years since I've played it.

I also love the mini posters, the images are crisp and clear and the colors are bright and vibrant, I can't wait to get frames for these and hang them up in my hallway. The flashlight I received in my box was broken and does not work, on the inside of the flashlight it is missing one of the metal springs that helps hold the batteries in and finishes the connection from one end to the other so that was slightly disappointing because I can use a flash light for my car. LootCrate is also stepping up their monthly collectible pin game, this month instead of having the small round metal pin which can easily break they had a sturdy metal pin which has more texture and shape to it then how they previously were, along with that each months pin unlocks something digital online. I am not completely sure what the rubber band is for, I think it was added to my box on accident since it doesn't go with any of the other goodies in the box and the monthly magazine didn't say anything about it.

December LootCrate Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

The December LootCrate has been one of my favorite crates of 2015, The theme was 'Galaxy' and it was jam packed with some pretty awesome goodies. The December crate featured a Exclusive Star Wars Han Solo vinyl bobble-head, a Ugly Holiday sweater T-shirt, a Galaxy Quest authentic prop replica patch, Star Wars BB-8 crew socks, a Halo 5 Ammo Tin Box, a Halo:5 Guardians req pack and the monthly LootCrate collectible pin.

My favorite item was the BB-8 socks of course who wouldn't love that adorable little guy on their socks? I am a big fan of socks as well I own too many pairs for my own good, and I am happy to have him in my collection, the socks fit well and are very comfortable. I also got a kick out of the Galaxy Quest authentic prop replica patch because the movie is a great watch. The tin I can use for various things, I could put a present in it, keep lego's in it for the kids or a number of other things which is funny because at the moment I can't decide exactly what I want to use it for so it will sit empty for now. The shirt I found both adorable and hilarious because it mixes a geeky theme and those ugly Christmas sweaters you see all over the internet. As always everything was well made and holds up well, I look forward to seeing what LootCrate has in store next.
