December/January Creepy Crate!

The Creepy Crate this time around was packed with so much & the book was so big the box almost didn't want to open. Creepy Crate is a true crime & horror themed bi-monthly subscription. Each crate typically has five or six physical items alongside one digital gift, you can purchase a single box for $39.99 or subscribe for 3 to 6 boxes at a time to receive a bit of a discount on the boxes.

One of the things I like about this subscription box is being able to learn about new books, old cold cases & horror movies I didn't know about. This time around I know three references out of the six products! This crate includes a "Witches & their hunters" 2023 calendar which features a number of real life witches and with hunters from various points in time. A Black Phillip mug, which is something I think my brother will really like so I will be gifting it to him. A keychain featuring the murder castle of H.H Holmes.

Also included was a Jack the ripper tee shirt, a copy of a book called "The Red Widow" & a digital version of the book "The Murder of Dr. Chapman". When it comes to the shirts included in these crates, they are soft & comfortable but I wish some of the shirts were black instead of white as I never wear white clothing. I took a look through the calendar & they have a little bit of information of each person that is featured for that month, It is always so crazy learning more about when there were real witch hunts. Creepy Crate is a True Crime and Horror themed subscription box that sends out shipments bi-monthly. Ever crate has a guaranteed hard or soft cover box in it along with an Ebook plus 4-5 physical products that can range from clothing to houseware. Many of the products included in the crates are Creepy Crate Exclusive items meaning you can't purchase them anywhere else. A single box can be purchased for $39.99 which you can order one at a time or prepay for your subscription through out the year, at the moment they are offering a free box with an annual subscription so you get seven crates for the price of six.

🦋 Non-Horror Fans! I know not everyone is a fan of horror movies or true crime, so if you'd still like to comment on this post but aren't into spooky things, tell me what your favorite non-spooky movie is!

Creepy Crate October/November Review!

All of the horror/spooky/Halloween fans out there might be a little sad that Halloween is over, but that doesn't mean you can't have some surprise scares through out the year. Creepy Crate is a Horror & True Crime themed subscription box that ships out bi-monthly, in each crate you'll receive a horror or true crime themed book along with several other goodies ranging from clothing to household goods. You can purchase a single box for $39.99 or subscribe for 3 to 6 boxes at a time to receive a bit of a discount on the boxes.

Let's dig into what is included in the October/November Creepy Crate. The book included in this crate is "Book of Knives" by Lise Haines which is a chilling summer camp tale or "The Angel Maker" by Alex North which is a tale of a serial killer. The digital book included is "Angel of Mercy" by Andrew Neiderman a story about a killer nurse and her twin sister.

The other items included are a set of Serial Killer gift tags to adorn your presents this holiday season, each one features a different serial killer. Three paper masks which pay homage to the 1980 movie Terror Train plus three stretchy strings to add to the masks so you can wear them. Also included is a coffee mug that says "Worlds Greatest Stepfather" which is from The Stepfather. A light bulb shaped notepad featuring Parasite, a Orphan bumper sticker - which is a movie I haven't seen yet, but have heard it is amazing. As an added bonus I received a CastleRock keychain which is a double for me as I received
it in my last Creepy Crate box, so they must of had extras and added them to this crate. I also love getting items that are not only themed but useful such as the keychain and notepad (I write lots of notes). This crate is a great way to discover products from your favorite movies & true crimes and also a great way to discover new films, stories and books you've never heard of.

🎃 If you are a fan of horror films - Which film would you like to receive a fun collectable item from?

Not everyone is a fan of horror films, or creepy things. So if you aren't a fan, let me know what theme you'd love to get a Subscription box of.

April/May '22 CreepyCrate Review!

The April/May CreepyCrate has arrived! This month has several fun items, and I am glad to see there is a collectable enamel pin in the crate again, they are one of my favorite things to receive. What is CreepyCrate? Let me tell you, CreepyCrate is a Horror/True Crime themed bi-monthly subscription box. If you've been a follower of my blog for a while, you will have seen some past reviews featuring the great items they include in each crate.

Each month includes a physical copy of a book along with a digital copy of a secondary book. This crates book is "Unmasked" by Paul Holes, alternatively some of the boxes may have received "The New Neighbor" by Carter Wilson as different box variation. The digital book is a copy of "The Shadow of Death", they used to send you an email link with a link to claim your digital book. However they no longer do it that way, instead there will be a QR code on the item sheet that arrives with your crate. I always love seeing which book they select for these boxes, there are quite a few that really peaked my interest when I read the blurb on what the book was about.

The biggest item to come in this crate is the "Where are you D.B. Cooper?" backpack. It is a fun drawstring backpack with two extra pockets compared to what normally comes on a basic drawstring bag. I think this would be a great bag to take with on a road trip or to keep your belongings in during a hike. Two of the items in this month's box are also quite useful, those two items are the "X-Files" nail file which I think is a great play on the shows name, my mom always loved watching this show when I was younger, she would watch it every week so I think I will pass this onto her. The Devil's Footprint sticky note set is also very useful and is just the right size to toss into your purse or bag for when you need some note paper, it is also small enough you can put it in your pocket if you prefer.

Also included was a Texarkana Killer Pin plus a Lincolnshire Poacher numbers station lanyard. All of the non-book items are CreepyCrate exclusives which means you can't get them anywhere else aside from maybe Ebay if someone decides to sell off the items they didn't want to keep. The crates are $39.99 per crate, you can choose to get billed bi-monthly or pre-pay for your crates selecting the three or six crate option, shipping is included in the price. I am pretty happy with this box, all of the products have a use and the book sounds like it will be an interesting read. One of my favorite items to receive in these boxes are the enamel pins, I have a cork board I like keeping them on along with my normal collection.

Which is your favorite item from this crate? What creature, horror movie or unsolved case would you hope to receive an item for?

Feb Creepy Crate Review!

It is no secret that I like things that are creepy or related to horror movies so I am always excited when I receive a new Creepy Crate in the mail, you never know what might pop up in each new box. Creepy Crate is a Horror & True Crime based subscription box that ships out bi-monthly. The boxes have been known to have a wide range of products included from clothing to household goodies, but one thing that is certain in each box is that you'll receive one paperback book and a digital book as well. The crates are $39.99 per crate, you can choose to get billed bi-monthly or pre-pay for your crates selecting the three or six crate option, shipping is included in the price.

Some of the movies and true crime cases they include I am familiar with, while others I am not so it is a great way to find new content to look into. One of my favorite items to receive in these crates are the cute collectable pins that are included from time to time, sadly there hasn't been on in a while. I am also a goober and think puns & "dad" jokes are funny so this month's box had a item in it that really made me laugh. Let's jump into what was in the newest crate I received:

This month's physical book is a copy of "The Girl In the Corn" by Jason Offutt and is actually an advanced reader copy, which is always neat because there is a chance it is slightly different from the prints that come out for mass production. This is a fantasy type book centered around Fairies, I love books like this so I can't wait to read it. The ebook for this month is a copy of "House of Bones" by Dale Bailey and it is about a housing project haunted by dark and evil forces. Also included was a Dead Headspace book mark which is a podcast that talks about horror, true crime and more.

The punny product I mentioned? It is this wine carrying bag, it is so silly but I love the "Wine-digo strikes again", it is a fun way to introduce people to the Wendigo if people aren't familiar with this North American creature legend. Plus I know a few wine-os who look like the picture on the bag!

Loup-Garou Hurricane Cup - Prior to receiving this crate I hadn't heard of the New Orleans version of a werewolf creature called the Loup-Garou so I was able to find something new and interesting in this crate. Werewolves and vampires have always been two of my favorite creatures so this fun hurricane cup is great.

Yosemite's Map of Terrors - What do you do if you have an area of land that has multiple tales about creatures and mysteries that go bump in the night? Create a map of course so thrill seekers can check out the areas if they dare visit the spots on the map.

Check the backseat air freshener - This is a classic move in horror and thriller movies to have the serial killer waiting in the backseat, which is why you should always look before getting into the car. Also included is a Take a pope lick lollipop inspired by the pop lick monster that is part-sheep, part-goat and part-man and is said to live below a bridge in Louisville, Kentucky.

I thought this was a fun crate this time around, though I can't quite put my finger on what it is - it might be the hurricane cup but the box has a funky smell to it, an almost nail polish remover type scent so I am letting all the items air out to help get rid of the scents.

What is your favorite horror movie or creature?

Dec/Jan Creepy Crate Review!

If you like horror movies and spooky things like I do, then I think you would get a kick out of the subscription box called "Creepy Crate". Creepy Crate is a subscription box that is horror and true crime themed, bi-monthly you'll receive a box that has one book along with several goodies ranging from clothing to house hold goods. You will find an assortment of goods from sources you know and receive goods from new movies, stories, etc. you may not have heard of.

Let's slash into what was in the December/January Creepy Crate Box:

This month's hard cover book is a copy of "True Crime Story" by Joseph Knox. Here is a blurb about the book "In the early hours of Saturday 17 December 2011, Zoe Nolan, a nineteen-year old Manchester University Student, walked out of a party taking place in the shared accommodation where she had been living for three months. She was never seen again." This isn't a true crime story I have heard of as of yet, however it is always interesting to me how someone can disappear with absolutely no trace.

Also included is a E-book download of the book "We will all go down together" by Gemma Files. This book features a number of interconnected short stories about five different families and their occult powers.

Lunar Magnet Calendar, This magnet is perfect for anyone who likes to keep track of the moon phases to know where there will be a full moon out. I always love going outside on the nights there is a full moon to look up at the stars and admire the moon in it's full glory. My favorite is when it has a almost bloodmoon hue to it.

Baphomet Mug. This mug is heavy duty, it feels and sounds like it is made from ceramic. It's base color is a deep maroon with off white flecks and an image of Baphomet on each side. This cup seems like it would be perfect for coffee or a cup of hot chocolate.

A sew on patch & a new shirt - Both of these subjects I am un-familiar with, some cold cases and mysteries I tend to shy away from depending on certain subjects involved and there are also so many stories and cases it is hard to know them all. I have received shirts in their boxes before and I really wish they were in another color aside from white! While I personally only tend to wear black clothing myself, I know others styles differ, however I feel like most consumers who purchase this would be much happier with a black shirt and colored lettering.

Eye of Horus lip balm - I've always thought Egyptian gods were fascination and I admire how beautiful all of their depictions and statues look. I also have family that loves and has researched Egypt and the Egyptian gods so I was pleased to see this included.

All of the true crime goodies can be interesting to receive and I had fun with this box, but I am really looking forward to another one that has some goodies from popular pop culture horror movies!

I think these crates are perfect for anyone who loves horror movies, creature features, etc. there is something for everyone to love in these boxes and even if you end up with an item or two you don't like (happens with most subscriptions) you can always gift the item to someone who will love it.

If you were to received a box from their subscription line, what is something you would hope to find inside?

October/November Creepy Crate!

Let me start by saying yes it is December and I am posting about the October/November Creepy Crate! My order for the crate was put in a little late and didn't arrive until just before Thanksgiving, however it is here now so I am sharing it with all of you.

If you aren't aware of what Creepy Crate is, it is a True Crime and Horror themed subscription box that sends out shipments bi-monthly.

What kind of spooky things are lurking in my latest Creepy Crate? Let's see;

The book in this crate is "My Heart is a Chainsaw" by Stephen Graham Jones. It both sounds and looks like an interesting read, the title is slightly cheesy in that old school horror movie way, but I love it. The Ebook included is called "Horror Show".

Full Moon Oven Mutt - I was actually in need of a new oven mitt after my husband accidently burned one of ours while cooking on the grill one night. When I went to add this to the kitchen I snuck up behind my husband and said "Sorry I haven't shaved in a few days" then went to grab his arm with the mitt, I of course was called a goob, we laughed and went on with our night. The mitt seems pretty sturdy, not one of those flimsy mitts that feel like you'll still end up burning your hand with or without it.

Love's Back From the Dead coaster Set - This coaster set is so cute and fits right in with a lot of the décor we already have in our home. The coasters are squishy and almost feel like a mouse pad which will help them retain any moisture that is lurking on your glass.

"I'm a sucker for red!" travel wine tumbler - The size of this glass is great and I like the lid that it comes with, makes it harder to spill if you decide to take this glass outside.

Cold as the grave ice tray - This is super cute, I was pretty excited when I opened the box and spotted this ice tray. It is shaped like little ghosts which adds a bit of ghoulishness to every glass, or you can even use the mold to make ghost shaped chocolates for a treat/ hot coco.

A Pumpkin shaped jar opener - I've used something similar once before and it was actually pretty helpful so I am looking forward to using this one as well.

All of the items included in the crate this time around are all pretty useful and every single one of them this month is a Creepy Crate exclusive (aside from the books of course) which is awesome.
