William W. Rockwell Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by William W. Rockwell for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

It has always been a big goal/dream of mine to be able to dress as Hawkgirl for Comicon, Since I've recently started doing yoga and trying to get into shape I've main it my main goal for the year to reach that cosplaying dream and a giant part in reaching that goal was William Rockwell who creates and sells leather masks alongside metal sculptures. Just before Thanksgiving William and I began talking about working together on a piece for my blog, originally I really liked his Angel/Devil mask and owl mask but I figured why not get crazy and ask if he would be able to make a custom Hawkgirl inspired mask for me. He delivered in a big way and now not only do I have the most important part of my cosplay outfit and a piece of artwork I'll display in my home for a very long time but now you have a chance to own one as well because he has started selling them in his shop. William is a very caring and attentive store owner, he puts a lot of thought and care into his products and aims to keep all of his customers happy. If you see a mask you love but want it in a different color you should message him as I am sure he would be more than happy to do a different paint job, or if you are looking for a custom piece you can message him to work out pricing and details. He has his main website listed above and also an etsy shop found Here.

The creation process was a lot of fun and William really spent a lot of time going over suggestions, my ideas, his ideas and images of how Hawkgirls masks have look in previous series. I also voice some of my dislikes on various masks, for example some cosplay Hawkgirl masks have it to where the tip of the nose extends out past the persons actual nose and I didn’t want that, instead I wanted it to end right when my actual nose did. This was his first cosplay piece and first time sewing a design together so we were both excited to be working on this, I had picked out several photos of mask inspiration ideas I had an William came up with a foam layout of how the mask would work, and kept me up to date on the progress. In the early stages he sent me photos of the foam layout we weren’t sure about the nose piece as the original layout had more than one piece coming together in that section and after a few tweaks the mask was perfect, the next step was paint. I let him know I wanted the mask to be gold and black because I like how her newer mask looks black in certain lighting (it is a dark green) and I thought the two colors would be easiest to work with outfit wise, the originally paint job looked like the one he is currently selling on his website but I had him change some of the gold along the wings to black and I can honestly say I am beyond happy with this mask I was very excited to try it on for the first time. Some masks don’t fit well on me because I’ve been told I have a tiny forehead(two fingers in height) and I also have high /wide cheek bones which sit uncomfortably in some masks so I was nervous but this mask fits perfectly. The masks is light weight but pretty sturdy and it has a strap that runs from the top of the back of my head down to meet with a strap that goes around the base of my skull which fits comfortably and keeps the mask in place (As a side note it was quite difficult trying to take selfies with this mask on!).

The mask is extremely well made there isn't a piece of leather or a stitch out of place, I can find nothing wrong with this mask and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The mask took 50% less time than I thought it would to create a layout, create the mask and then paint, I honestly thought it would take closer to the two month mark to complete since he was working on other orders and getting ready for a art show at the same time but he go everything finished quickly, I am very impressed with his dedication to his work and to his customers. Shipping went perfectly and the mask arrived without any issues, the mask also arrived with some yellow and orange tissue paper to help keep it safe but my kids ran off with them before I had a chance to get a photo of it plus I was overly excited to get to try my mask on. There was a lot of love and attention to detail that went into this mask and it shows with the beautiful craftsman ship you can see while looking at the mask, his beautiful wife is also a big help when it comes to packaging and mailing things out so I want to include a thank you to her as well you both make an amazing team. William sells a large assortment of leather masks from half masks to full face masks and he even has a mask that covers the whole top of your head now, he also sells statues and metal sculptures!

Denise Albirght Studio Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Denise Albirght Studio for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

It is very crazy to say but 2017 is almost here! Which means it is time for those who set new years resolutions to start planning and it also means it is time to get a new calendar. One of my new years resolutions is to keep better track of shopping lists, appointments and other important dates. I have a small pocket book I keep in my purse but it doesn't have a lot of writing space so I was very excited to receive the chance to work with Denise Albirght Studio on a review and giveaway of their reminder binder.

I received their 17~month Reminder Binder which has August 2016 to December 2017. This is a nice thick planner which has a metal ringed spine which I love because the books that are paper and simply sealed or stapled together start to fall apart after a while of being opened all the time and it won't happen with this binder. The front of the binder has a 'stock it pocket' where you can store extra binder stickers, coupons, notes, etc that you want to keep safe and store for later. There is also three pages of various stickers when you first open the binder, it has 69 different stickers and each one has 2-21 stickers of each. I love that each month starts out with four empty boxes, two are for notes and two are for making check lists, which is followed by a calendar of that month with boxes to write in and a long note section on the side.

Each week shows Monday thru Sunday with plenty of space to write in daily activities, appointments, or place fun stickers to show your weekly activities. There is also a check list, a note section and the previous month/current month/next month calendar at the end of each week to really help you keep track of your busy life. The very end of the book has several list sheets that have easy tear seems so you can write out a list and take it with you and it also has a "Dates to remember" section along with several contact list pages with another 'stock it pocket' in the back. Denise Albirght Studio also offers tons of fun binder stickers for you to use including First day of school, lunch date, No school, Work out, Birthday stickers and more! I really like this reminder binder and think it will be a huge help in the coming months. At first I was blind and didn't notice the two pockets and all day long I kept thinking how perfect it would be if it had a pocket or small folder to put things in and when I got home from work is when I noticed it did in fact come with two pockets. These binders sell for $24.95 and additional stickers start at $8.99 and she has dozens of stickers for your binder.

PRIZE ALERT:
Three lucky winners will each win the following,A Gift Set including:

(1) Reminder Binder® Planner
(1) Busy Mom Sticker Set
(1) Every Gal Sticker Set

Karma Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Karma for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

It always makes me happy when I am able to find products that are not only adorable but are useful and functional as well and Karma offers a wide range of useful gifts in various fun designs and colors. They sell tote bags, coin purses, coffee cups, headbands and more all at an affordable price. Karma is a brand of the Stephen Joseph brand which originally started out in the owners garage and has now grown into a company with 125 employees and a 90k square foot foot factory, their products will show you exactly why they were able to grow so much because everything is well made with the customer in mind.

I was able to look through the site and pick out a few fun products I wanted to try out for review, It was a hard choice to make but I was able to narrow my selections down to four great products. I received the Black and white fox zip coin purse, a large butterfly tote bag, a modern folkloric button mirror with a doe on it and a grey global color lace willow headband. The zipped pouch and the tote are made from a woven plastic and are not only very sturdy but very easy to keep clean because they are water resistant and if you get dirt on it all you need to do is wipe it off no washing machine needed. The tote bag is very large and would make an awesome beach/river/lake bag because the sand won't be a match for the materials this is made from, just wash it out and leave it to dry.

The coin purse is large enough to use as a makeup bag, small carry all or just a coin purse. It features two separate zippered sections where you can store your goods, the outside features a black and white fox along with the quote "Embrace the journey" this is a cute and fun coin purse that will always be easy to clean. The headband is quite lovely and well made, I love the color and find that it is comfortable to wear and doesn't pull my hair or sit too tightly on my head. The mirror is not only one of the sweetest designs I've seen on a pocket mirror but it also comes with a carry sleeve to keep the mirror protected and clean, the mirror has a fabric backing and the carry sleeve is made from felt.

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky winner will win the same gift set I received.

This is open to US Residents only! Excludes Hawaii & Alaska, please remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your mandatory entry into the giveaway then all of your entries will be void. Whittle Shortline Railroad Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Whittle Shortline Railroad for the review free of charge.****

Do you have a train lover on your holiday shopping list this year? I know I do, I have a three year old little boy who loves hands on toys like cars and tractors so when I was offered the chance to review a train set from Whittle Shortline Railroad I said yes right away because I knew my son would love the wooden trains sold by them.Whittle Shortline Railroad is a family ran company and they have been around for twenty years, the company originally started in their garage and now they sell their trains worldwide.

For my review I selected the Mixed Burlington Northern set which includes a Burlington Northern Engine, a Burlington Northern Caboose and three freight cars chosen by the Whittle Shortline Railroad. I really enjoyed the set that was sent to us because each piece is well made, and is bright in color which makes the set extra fun. The wheels move around smoothly so you can get this little train set to go pretty fast depending on how you have your track set up.All the trains and train cars are handmade and painted with child friendly paints.

The cars are magnetic so you won't have to worry about any little plastic hooks needing clasped together you simply need to move them near each other and they will connect and the connection is pretty sturdy. Each car is well made and has a smooth finish, looking these over I could not see anything I would want to change or anything that was out of place. This set cost $69.95, it shipped rather quickly and was packaged well that combined with the sturdiness and the long lasting durability of this set I do think it is a good price, normally it would be a little more than I would want to spend on a train set however since these are made from wood they can take more than a plastic train set would and therefore will last a lot longer so the extra price is well worth it. These trains are also compatible with Thomas, Chuggington  sets and Brio sets.

TomBoxes Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by TomBoxes for the review free of charge.****

Sometimes starting your period can add extra stress to an already stressful and hectic week and it makes you just want to break down and cry, but thankfully their is a very helpful and wonderful company called TomBoxes who wants to help you out each month. TomBoxes stands for "Time of the Month boxes" and it is aimed to provide you with not only pads or tampons but also with extra goodies to help brighten your day. Each box will receive a mixture of makeup, jewelry and some kind of candy and they have a option where you can double up on the makeup and jewelry you'll receive.

I really like that you are able to select from several different pad/tampon brands including Tampax, Always & more so you can be sure you will get a product you will use. The box I received had a box of Playtex sport tampons which are a great product! I received the double up box which means I received more jewelry & makeup than what comes in the basic monthly box. The items in my box that are included in the basic boxes are a "Have hope" silver bangle (Retail $10)  which looks great, it is simple and inspirational, California mango extreme creme travel size (Retail $2), Iris belle cherry plum matte lipstick (Retail $10), Fran Wilson Professional Quality pumice sponge (retail $4) & Pumpkin caramels from The Little Red Hen. The Iris Belle lipstick is a lovely shade and is right up my alley so I was happy to see it included in this box. I didn't really like the caramels the pumpkin flavor was a little overwhelming but that is just my personal opinion I am not a huge fan of pumpkin spice.

The products that were included and aren't in the basic box but are in the "Double up" box were as follows; Turqoise Arrow Dangle Earrings (Retail $11), Iris Belle coral red liquid matte lipstick (Retail $10), Hikari eye shadow in bone (Retail $13) and Be A Bombshell eye crayon in angel eyes (Retail $5). The Be A Bombshell eye crayon is perfect because you can use it as a base under your eye shadow and it glides on smoothly and evenly helping you create the perfect eye shadow base. The earrings are a lovely color and they are also light weight so they won't weigh on your ear lobes. I also love the color of the eye shadow they sent. I am over all very happy with this box and think it is the perfect subscription box for all women out there. Basic boxes start at $16 a month which is a great deal, the month's box I received included $26 worth of product not including the candy or the tampons, and a double up box is $6 more than the basic and the box I received had an extra $39 worth of products so it is 100% worth the price. They also have an additional option where they will include a 4pack of Venus razor blades for an additional $12 a month.

Socks and I Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Socks and I for the review & giveaway free of charge.****
If you were to look in my sock drawer you would probably think I am addicted to colorful socks, I have an entire drawer stuffed to the brim with nothing but tons of different socks. I just can't seem to help myself, even though I know I don't need more socks when I see fun socks I want to get them so when I was offered a chance to review a sock subscription service called Socks and I, I couldn't say no!

I recently received two boxes from them each had four pairs of socks all in various designs, thicknesses and lengths. Both boxes were a lot of fun to open and really hold some great surprises, I like that the first box I opened not only had socks that were bright, wild and out there but they also have a more neutral sock that isn't as bright as the rest. Many of the socks included remind me of Booth from the TV show Bones because he enjoys wearing funky and colorful socks as well. All of the socks I was sent I would consider more to be winter socks than summer socks because they are longer and some of them are pretty thick which has been perfect for the dropping temperatures. All the socks were packed with care and wrapped in tissue paper, I like their simple and effective packaging shown in the photos.

I only had an issue with one pair of these socks and it is the pair of socks you see on the top section of the photos on the right above and that was only because the sock seemed a little small and I really had to work to get it onto my foot. I do wear a size 9 in women's which can be considered a big foot but normally I don't have too many issues with socks. Aside from that single pair of socks which I still squeeze my foot into them anyways because I like them so much everything fit wonderfully and they help keep my toes nice and warm during the cold mornings and cold nights. All of the socks are extremely well made and everything is packed up with care and love before being sent out to you monthly. They offer three different subscription boxes the first is the "Easy does it" box which is $10.99 and comes with 1 pair of socks, second is the "Now We're talking" which is $15.99 and bumps you up to two pairs of socks or you can get crazy and go for the "Heavy Footed" box which sends you four pairs of socks for $20.99 and shipping is included in those prices. Socks and I are very accommodating, if you are unhappy with the subscription it is free to cancel your subscription at any time, and if you only dislike one pair of socks in your box they allow you to send it back for an exchange. Their sock size chart is as follows;

Low to Mid Calf Length (Men's and Women's): 10-13 (US)
Women's Knee High: 9-11 (US)
Women's Over the Knee: 9-11 (US)

PRIZE ALERT:
Socks and I would like to offer 1 Men's Heavy Footed Box (1 month) & 1 Women's Heavy Footed Box (1 month) to two lucky readers!

Influenster CozyVox Box Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Influenster for the review free of charge.****

Every so often I receive the chance to participate in a box called VoxBox by Influenster where you will out a survey to see if you qualify and if you do they send you a box of samples to talk about on your social media channels. I was recently accepted into the Cozy VoxBox and it has been one of my favorites!

I received a Maybelline New York super stay 24 color lip stain in "Keep up the flame", I generally don't like wearing dark red lip sticks or stains but I really like this shade. This lip stain is a two step process first you should apply the color to smooth clean and dry lips then let it sit for about two minutes so it has time to dry. Once the color is dry you add on a second coat that is clear which not only locks the color into place but it also gives your lips a little shine. This really stands up to the no smear, no re-apply test I was able to eat and drink as normal all day long and I didn't have any color transfer so I didn't need to re-apply the stain it simply looked it's best all day. The packaging suggests using a oil based makeup remover to get the stain off but I was able to get it off with just warm water and a hand towel. I also received a coupon for a tub of Country Crock original butter, it came just at the right time because I was almost out of butter and Country Crock is my favorite brand to buy. It came with a #Makeityours cookie recipe to use the butter in but it was close to my moms birthday when this arrived so instead I used it in baking a cheesecake for my mom since it goes in the crust. I also added some chocolate strawberries on top for her to eat before the cake.

One of my personal favorite items in the box are the two Pilot FriXion Clicker pens that write so smoothly I almost wonder if they are made out of butter! I have been using the red one while filling out my holiday cards, the pen is made well and doesn't make my hand hurt after a long period of use which is nice when you are filling out more than thirty holiday cards. As an added bonus the pens are able to be erased so don't fear making a mistake because you can fix it! Next up in the box was a coupon for a free Daisy squeeze sour cream, before receiving this coupon I didn't realize Daisy sour cream came in a squeeze pouch. The purpose is to make it easier when making tacos, burritos, etc so you can squeeze it on without any issues. My fiance wasn't a huge fan of this product, I think it tastes the same but it needs to be mixed up a little after being squeezed out otherwise you will just have one thick line of sour cream. Last but not least I was sent a small pouch of Simple cleansing facial wipes. These wipes work well, my skin is sensitive and will break out the next morning if I use a product it doesn't like the day before but I don't have that issue with these wipes. They smell lovely, and they don't leave your face feeling oily or greasy instead it leaves you feeling clean and cooled off.
