L'Oreal Rouge Signature VoxBox!

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Influenster for the review free of charge.**

I recently received a new Voxbox from Influenster and I am pretty excited about it because I am always on the look for new lipsticks. The Voxbox I received features L'Oreal Paris and their new Rouge Signature matte liquid lipstick collection which retails for $11.99 ($9.99 at Target) and comes in twelve different colors. I received the shades "I Create" - A nude with hints a brownish hue , "I Rule" - A pink that is a bit nude & "I am worth it" - A deep red.

I am pleased with the product packaging, each tube holds 0.23fl oz of lipstick. The tubes are almost bullet like in shape and the container looks like glass but it is actually a thick plastic so even if you drop it, the tube won't break. The tube also features a tight seal to keep the product safe and the applicator brush is quite nice in shape and feel. The applicator brush comes to a triangular point which is a little fluffy and has grooves that help the liquid lipstick stay in place as you are pulling out the applicator. I liked how smooth the liquid lipstick we on and I was pretty pleased with the coverage I received from the product.

Out of the three I highly enjoyed "I am worth it" which is the red you see in the image above, I've worn it a few times with different looks including just wearing a bit of black liner and a polka dot headband for a kind of vintage/rockabilly look. My go to is "I Rule" shown in the second image above, it is more of a creamy pink that is almost nude and it goes well with both bold looks and subtle looks. I do not however like the "I Create", it didn't really go with my skin tone it had a hue I almost can't describe as it came out with almost a light orange hue that I didn't enjoy.

When I took the photo of the red shade above it was actually a day I was just messing around with my makeup and contacts so I decided why not take the shots for the lipsticks as well? My mistake was trying out the red first, once I wiped it off I found that it worked like a lipstain and my lips stayed a slightly darker pink color than my lips normally are so you could tell I had something on earlier in the day. It actually looked pretty cute and I wasn't unhappy with it, but you could see the color through the other two shades so I put off taking photos of the other two. I get about 3-4 hours wear out of each application before needing to re-apply. This is a lipstick that I see myself using fairly often and I look forward to trying out more shades when I find them in store.

Which of the three shades do you like the most?

Fangirls Review & Giveaway!

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by FanGirls for the review & giveaway free of charge.**

There are a ton of products available that you can have customized to fit your interests, you can get a bag that has StarWars fabric or a pair of sneakers with a painting of your favorite Disney character so why not have some fun with your makeup packaging as well? A fun and creative shop on Etsy called Fangirls is making that a possibility by customizing some of your favorite makeup products with comic prints. Fangirls is run by artists Erin & Dara who create a number of fun comic inspired accessories.  Along with accessories they also customize makeup, at the moment they only have NYX makeup products but if you are looking for something different you can message the store owner to work out something custom (you'll just need to pay the price difference).

I've been to Comi-con and similar events in the past and there are always a lot of fun booths with various wares being sold, but I never really buy a ton however I think if I stumbled upon this table there I'd have a hard time not buying everything. Makeup and comic books? Heck yes! I have quite a few superheros and comic book characters I love so for the review I suggested that she send a surprise palette of anything she already had ready. When my package arrived I opened it to find a Jean Grey palette that consists of four shadow colors: Blue, Black, Light Orange and Yellow. I had only expected the palette, but I found a lipstick as well that features Batgirl. The packaging I had looks a bit different than the newer packaging the store owner has switched to so the image below is a sneak peak at how the new packaging looks:

Now onto the makeup! Each piece is made using recycled comics which are color coordinated with the products. Each palette will feature colors that go with the character for example if you wanted a four color palette featuring Loki it might include a green, black, gold and blue. When purchasing a piece you won't receive what is in the listing photo as they are just used for examples of what you might receive, instead you'll be able to pick out a character you'd like.

I like that not only does the palette have comic prints on the outside but they also decorated the inside and the package cover that stores the palette. Looking over the piece I couldn't find any issues, there were no bubbles or corners sticking up that might eventually lead to the comic print being ripped off on accident. There was also no funky smells from the comic prints used or the products used to attach the comic prints to the makeup palette. I like the colors selected for the Jean Grey palette though I think a slightly darker orange may have worked a little better. Looking at the batgirl lipstick, I thought it was going to be a bright red but upon applying it I found it to actually be more of a bright coral orange, not something I'd typically wear but I actually like it!

Influenster CozyVox Box Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Influenster for the review free of charge.****

Every so often I receive the chance to participate in a box called VoxBox by Influenster where you will out a survey to see if you qualify and if you do they send you a box of samples to talk about on your social media channels. I was recently accepted into the Cozy VoxBox and it has been one of my favorites!

I received a Maybelline New York super stay 24 color lip stain in "Keep up the flame", I generally don't like wearing dark red lip sticks or stains but I really like this shade. This lip stain is a two step process first you should apply the color to smooth clean and dry lips then let it sit for about two minutes so it has time to dry. Once the color is dry you add on a second coat that is clear which not only locks the color into place but it also gives your lips a little shine. This really stands up to the no smear, no re-apply test I was able to eat and drink as normal all day long and I didn't have any color transfer so I didn't need to re-apply the stain it simply looked it's best all day. The packaging suggests using a oil based makeup remover to get the stain off but I was able to get it off with just warm water and a hand towel. I also received a coupon for a tub of Country Crock original butter, it came just at the right time because I was almost out of butter and Country Crock is my favorite brand to buy. It came with a #Makeityours cookie recipe to use the butter in but it was close to my moms birthday when this arrived so instead I used it in baking a cheesecake for my mom since it goes in the crust. I also added some chocolate strawberries on top for her to eat before the cake.

One of my personal favorite items in the box are the two Pilot FriXion Clicker pens that write so smoothly I almost wonder if they are made out of butter! I have been using the red one while filling out my holiday cards, the pen is made well and doesn't make my hand hurt after a long period of use which is nice when you are filling out more than thirty holiday cards. As an added bonus the pens are able to be erased so don't fear making a mistake because you can fix it! Next up in the box was a coupon for a free Daisy squeeze sour cream, before receiving this coupon I didn't realize Daisy sour cream came in a squeeze pouch. The purpose is to make it easier when making tacos, burritos, etc so you can squeeze it on without any issues. My fiance wasn't a huge fan of this product, I think it tastes the same but it needs to be mixed up a little after being squeezed out otherwise you will just have one thick line of sour cream. Last but not least I was sent a small pouch of Simple cleansing facial wipes. These wipes work well, my skin is sensitive and will break out the next morning if I use a product it doesn't like the day before but I don't have that issue with these wipes. They smell lovely, and they don't leave your face feeling oily or greasy instead it leaves you feeling clean and cooled off.

Pacifica Beauty Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Pacifica Beauty for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

I recently received a surprise box in the mail from a wonderful company called Pacifica Beauty. I've tried their eye shadow palette in the past and I loved it so I was excited to get to try their lipstick and their mascara as well. In my box I received their Devocean Natural lipstick in the color Beach Goth (it is a light purple color); Retail $10, a Dream big lash extending 7 in 1 mascara; Retail $16 and the power of love eye shadow palette; Retail $20 which has ten different colors.

I was slightly bummed out because the lipstick was a bit melted upon arrival so it made a bit of a mess inside of the lid but I was able to get it cleaned up and firm again after placing it in the freezer. The lipstick smells amazing it has a smell that is a mixture between coconut and a floral scent, I enjoy putting it on my lips just so that I can smell it. The texture is nice, it isn't too thick or too thin it glides on like silk and sits well, the color is lovely it is a very light purple/light pink shade and lasts most of the day.

See the two photos above that show one short fat mascara wand and another that is slightly longer and looks thinner? It is the exact same brush in both pictures! The dream big mascara wand has a retractable mascara wand so you can build the mascara for a fuller mascara look or you can choose to use just one step if you prefer; I like using it on the longer setting. The mascara builds up well and goes on smoothly, I like the formula they used and I absolutely love the packaging. It was long lasting and was easy to wash off when I got into the shower, I am pretty happy with this mascara.

Last but not least is the power of love eye shadow palette, I did not use the palette that came in my surprise box because I already own one so I saved this one to put into a small giveaway for one lucky reader. Their eye shadows are coconut-infused mineral eye shadows that feel quite soft on your skin and the colors blend together well if you are going for a smokey eye look. I find that you need at least two layers of each color in order to be able to see them on your eyes or one if you use a eye shadow base before applying the shadow. The packaging is cute and over all light weight, it is good for taking with on your travels or simply keeping with the rest of your makeup.

Prize Alert:
One lucky reader is going to win a Pacifica Beauty power of love eye shadow palette, a pair of hypoallergenic earrings, a eye shadow by Sweet Libertine called Fiasco and a black eyeliner by Rimmel London.

This is open to Worldwide to ages 18+, please remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your mandatory entry into the giveaway then all of your entries will be void. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream VS NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

I normally don't blog about the personal items I buy, but I usually really love the NYX cosmetics brand and was recently kind of bummed out when I purchased one of their products and wanted to share my experience with you here. I have really been in love with liquid lipsticks lately because I love the way they dry, the way they look and how long they last so I was excited to see that NYX has a few liquid lipstick options.

I originally found the NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick first and wanted to try three shades but couldn't find them in the stores near me, every time I went they were sold out. However I noticed they had another liquid lipstick which is their NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and decided to pick up a shade called Istanbul along with one called Copenhagen, I love how both shades look and they dried well. I was extra excited when I visited one of my local Ulta's on Friday because they finally had the Liquid Suede in Cookies & Cream that I had been looking for.

When I got home I went to try it out right away and found that it is the exact same color as the Sofe Matte Istanbul which was a big disappointment, not just because it was the same shade as the other one I bought but for three other reasons as well. 1.) The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream has 0.23OZ per lip cream and the Suede only has 0.13OZ although the product packaging is much lager. 2.) The Suede comes with less product for a higher price, the Soft matte is $5.99 and the Suede us $6.99. 3.) The Soft matte smells like cupcakes and the suede has more of a waxy smell to it. As you can see in the photos above based on the packaging they look like two different colors with the cookies & cream being darker and also in a larger tube. Can you tell the different on my lips when I wear both of them at once? My bottom lip is the Cookies & Cream Liquid Suede, and the top is Istanbul sofe matte.

I would suggest checking out the matte lip cream line first because I have a feeling a few of the suede shades will be available in the soft matte and you will get more product that smells better!
