Headbands of Hope - beautiful headbands that give back.

My hair is a mixture between wavy and curly, some days I look a bit like Hermione Granger in the first two films. I don't always like adding a bunch of product to my hair, because even though it helps with the frizz it can sometimes make it look oily, so I enjoy wearing headbands to help keep my hair in place a bit. I recently came across a wonderful company called Headbands of Hope. Not only do they make an assortment of fantastic headbands and hair accessories but for every purchase made they will donate a headband to children with illnesses going through chemo, hospital visits, etc.

They have several different headbands that I like so I went back and forth a little trying to decide which to get, I gave the PR agent I was working with a list of my top three and asked them to surprise me. So in the ended I ended up with a darling chain headband and a "mommy and me" headband set.

The Mommy + Me headband set is in the Grey Floral Knotted headband. This is not a pre-knotted headband, it will arrive flat and you will be able to tie and adjust the headband yourself, which I enjoy because not everyone has the same size head. The material of this headband is really nice, it stretches without any issues and it is soft/flexible enough that is is extremely comfortable to wear. I have an issue with some headbands where I have to adjust it constantly, but I didn't have an issue with it. My eleven year old daughter doesn't usually like wearing headbands, but this one she willing wears on her own without me having to ask if she'd like to wear a headband when we go out. I personally would love to buy this headband in other patterns as well. Got your headband dirty? No problem they can easily be washed. You can buy a set for $16.85.

The second headband I received is the Silver Floral Choker Headband, that features a row of metal flowers connected to a suede tie back. Normally this headband cost $15.85 but is currently on sale for $7.93 (along with several other headbands on sale).

When I wear this headband it kind of reminds me of a Hippie look, it is really cute and I like how it sits on my head. I don't use this one to help keep my hair out of my face or hold my hair in place, instead it is just used to add an accessory to my hair. Along with their other headband, I don't find that I have to really adjust it at all after putting it in. The chain is light weight, the only issue I had with this headband was trying to tie it since I wanted it to just sit over my head it caught my hair a little, but next time I will tie it first and then set it on my head afterwards to achieve the desired look.

Shiny Sky rainBOWS Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Shiny Sky RainBOWS for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

Normally when I go to work I put my hair up in a pony tail, it helps keep my hair out of my face while I am working and I don't have to worry about straightening it every morning/night (My hair is naturally a giant frizz ball) but it can get a little boring wearing just a regular pony tail everyday so I like to spice it up by wearing hair clips, headbands, etc. I like bows that show things I like, colors, themes, etc and my daughter is the same way with bows so when I saw the fun and bright bows based off of various Disney characters and other inspirations that Shiny Sky RainBOWS sells I knew my daughter would fall in love with them immediately. Shop owner May was kind enough to agree to a review and giveaway here on my blog.

Every piece in her shop is handmade by her and some take longer than others, for example her Disney Tangled Rapunzel inspired headband is hand sewn and takes eight hours to create one crown. That is a lot of time and dedication put into each piece and it really shows in the quality of work. For my review I received a Ariel inspired mermaid hair bow. The bow is large and thick but it is light weight and has a large alligator clip (You get to select if you want a clip or headband when checking out). The Mermaid bow features green glittery scale fabric, a star fish, and a cute pink little flower that looks like a sea plant. I like the type of alligator clip the shop owner used because the part that goes into your hair comes down into a paint with a little round tip that makes it easier to maneuver into your hair and it doesn't pull any hairs as it is being put in or being pulled out. My daughter is quite happy with this bow, she likes how big it is because she says she feels like a Disney princess or a cartoon character. When the light reflects off of the Mermaid scales the whole bow shines and gives it an appearance as if she just walked out of the ocean and her bow is still wet and sparkling in the sun. The retail of this bow is $11.99 and makes a great addition to your Disneyland/world attire for your next park trip. With my review bow I was also sent two products to use to host a giveaway, those two products are a Disney Dole Whip inspired hair bow and a Lollipop hair band both of which are quite charming and make me feel like I am back at Disneyland which is one of my favorite places to be.

The Dole Pineapple is on a alligator clip and it is light weight with a felt backing and shiny glitter on the front, and the lollipop is twisted/rolled fabric that looks like like one of the giant lollipops kids like to get and it is on a white silk headband. The retail value of the Dole clip is $10.99 and the Lollipop headband is $11.75. Not only does Shiny Sky RainBOWS sell bows but she also sells Mouse ear headbands and Jessie the cowgirl inspired small hats. All three items were packed with care to keep them from getting crushed during shipping and the shop owner made sure to check in to make sure the package arrived on time. May is quite sweet, she responds quickly and she sells products that are high quality and worth purchasing, they are better quality than a large portion of store bought bows I've had in the past.

Prize Alert:
One lucky winner is going to win the Disney Dole Whip inspired hair bow and a Lollipop hair band.

Karma Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Karma for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

It always makes me happy when I am able to find products that are not only adorable but are useful and functional as well and Karma offers a wide range of useful gifts in various fun designs and colors. They sell tote bags, coin purses, coffee cups, headbands and more all at an affordable price. Karma is a brand of the Stephen Joseph brand which originally started out in the owners garage and has now grown into a company with 125 employees and a 90k square foot foot factory, their products will show you exactly why they were able to grow so much because everything is well made with the customer in mind.

I was able to look through the site and pick out a few fun products I wanted to try out for review, It was a hard choice to make but I was able to narrow my selections down to four great products. I received the Black and white fox zip coin purse, a large butterfly tote bag, a modern folkloric button mirror with a doe on it and a grey global color lace willow headband. The zipped pouch and the tote are made from a woven plastic and are not only very sturdy but very easy to keep clean because they are water resistant and if you get dirt on it all you need to do is wipe it off no washing machine needed. The tote bag is very large and would make an awesome beach/river/lake bag because the sand won't be a match for the materials this is made from, just wash it out and leave it to dry.

The coin purse is large enough to use as a makeup bag, small carry all or just a coin purse. It features two separate zippered sections where you can store your goods, the outside features a black and white fox along with the quote "Embrace the journey" this is a cute and fun coin purse that will always be easy to clean. The headband is quite lovely and well made, I love the color and find that it is comfortable to wear and doesn't pull my hair or sit too tightly on my head. The mirror is not only one of the sweetest designs I've seen on a pocket mirror but it also comes with a carry sleeve to keep the mirror protected and clean, the mirror has a fabric backing and the carry sleeve is made from felt.

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky winner will win the same gift set I received.

This is open to US Residents only! Excludes Hawaii & Alaska, please remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your mandatory entry into the giveaway then all of your entries will be void.
