Simona Candini Art Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Simona Candini Art for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

Halloween is just around the corner which means it is time to start decorating the outside of my house, as for the inside it is filled with dragons, gargoyles and other assorted items so everyday is a little like Halloween for us. Every year I look for fun new additions to add to our walls or Halloween decor and I wanted to share a etsy shop called Simona Candini Art who sells prints of hand drawn images that are a little spooky and some could even say inspired by Halloween. All of her prints have a slightly darker feel to them but are still quite adorable and would make great conversation pieces to hang in your home. I received the three prints shown below to review here on my blog and I will be giving one lucky winner a print!

The prints in order are called "Rapunzel", "Kiss Me" and "The Secret Garden" each print comes dated and signed by the Artist and only 50 prints are sold of each image so you will also find a #/50 located on the bottom of the print letting you know it is limited edition. Each print is vibrant with color and the work is flawless I find each image captivating in it's own way, and I do have to say that I noticed some of the images of the prints found in her shop don't do justice to how vibrant the photos are in person. Every piece of her art work is extremely detailed you could sit and look at it and see each strand of hair, every piece of grass and every shadow that matches perfectly with the imaged it is a shadow of. My favorite of the three I received is the Secret Garden print, I can't quite put a finger on why it stands out to me the most but I absolutely adore it and it is so unique I know it will be a wonderful conversation starter. I have to admit I felt a little silly, at first I thought the Rose vines were just a plant the little girl was sitting on then I realized they were the lower half of the girl in the chair which made this image even more captivating. The prints shipped all the way from Italy to Arizona in less than two weeks which is extremely impressive considering most international packages take anywhere from 3-10 weeks to receive depending on customs and how it was shipped.

The prints have a small white edge to make them easier to matte and frame, but you are also able to request that be removed so it fits a standard 8"x10" frame which may be a better option for some. Each print ranges from $30-$35 which is a wonderful price for unique and limited edition art work, I've seen my fair share of prices on various works on art that are mass produced and have to say I rather spend my $35 on a print from Simona Candini Art than on something you can buy from the store. Customer service is fast and friendly, if you have any questions or even a custom request I am sure the store owner and artist would be more than happy to help you out.

Prize Alert:
One lucky blog winner is going to win the Rapunzel print shown above! This giveaway is open World Wide.

Craig Michael Scott Art & Design Review and Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Craig Michael Scott Art & Design for the review &giveaway free of charge.****

I grew up being a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I remember having a TMNT sleeping bag and square juice box cover at my grandmothers house for when I went to visit. I was excited when TMNT started making a come back and now my kids love those four tubular turtles. My son is a year and a half old, TMNT was one of the first shows he really connected with and "Turtles" was one of his first words, seeing how much he loves those four crazy turtles I wanted to find some art for his blank bedroom walls that reflect his likes. On my journey looking for bedroom art I came upon a etsy shop called Craig Michael Scott Art & Design. There were so many charming and sweet prints I didn't know where to start I want a dozen of the prints but the question is which do you buy first? After speaking with the store owner I received the chance to host a review and giveaway of his PreTMNT Inspired prints which feature all four turtles as toddlers doing various things such as eating pizza.

From the moment your prints arrive on your door you can tell that wonderful customer service, thoughtfulness and care were put into getting your package together. The prints arrive in a cute envelope with the stores logo picture, a business card and a note. For my review I received a set of  5" x 7" cards four features each Turtle on their own card and the last had all of them eating pizza together, I also received a set of TMNT inspired ACEO 3.5" x 2.5" Print to giveaway to a lucky reader. The prints were in a protective sleeve with a paper diving the cards from the cover card so they wouldn't stick and the smaller prints arrived in card sleeves to keep them protected. Each print is hand drawn by Craig Michael Scott and each print will make your heart melt, I absolutely love that he decided to make them more of a toddler/kid TMNT inspired art rather than keeping them as adults. The colors were vibrant, crisp and flows nicely through each print. I like the paper choice that was made when printing these out they are slightly more sturdy than regular photo paper.

The larger prints are $10 and the smaller prints are $4-$6 each a price that I would pay a hundred times over for this fantastic art work. If you are looking for a fun and unique gift for a birthday or Christmas gift this is the place to stop! He offers dozens of designs ranging from Star Wars to Superhero's a few of my favorites are shown above.

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky winner is going to receive a set of FOUR TMNT inspired ACEO 3.5" x 2.5" Prints shown in the first group of pictures. A $16 value!

Roogna's Custom Creations Review & Giveaway

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Roogna's Custom Creations for the review & giveaway Free of charge.****

When I was a little girl I always enjoyed My Little Pony, I was excited when they came out with a newer version of it because my daughter is now a fan of the show as well. She loves all of the characters on the show but I always thought it would be neat to have a custom pony that was made specifically for that person which is why I was excited to come across Roogna's Custom Creations on Etsy. Roogna creates custom my little pony figures, baby ponies and pony plush animals which can all be customized to how you would like them or you can purchase one of her already created ponies.

For my recent review I received a Zecora 2 My Little Pony MLP Plush & a Zev custom baby Pony. My package arrived in a very timely manner and was well packaged to protect Zev the baby pony which to me shows that she loves and cares for her creations so I know I will be getting something amazing to show off to friends. Right away my daughter loved the plush she immediately recognized the doll as Zecora who is one of her favorite ponies, The plush is well made the stitches are all straight  and there isn't a string out of place. The "Cutie" mark is made using felt stitched onto the doll near the lower right hand corner, felt is also used for the earring on each of Zecoras ears. The eyes are made from turquoise blue buttons and the entire plush stands at about 12" tall, The mane and tail are made from grey and white yarn. I find that the plush is squish-able, lovable and looks great I would purchase one of these as a gift for a loved one. For younger children I suggest maybe asking for felt eyes verses buttons eyes, as far as I can tell this plush came from a smoke and animal free home as it has no scent aside for a slight fabric scent, It may be weird to mention but there are many people who have both animal allergies and smoke allergies.

The custom baby pony I was sent is named Zev, each creation is named and then has it's name written on one of its feet along with Roogna's signature and the year. Prior to being sent a pony I mentioned I was hoping something that was leaning more towards the "Halloween" theme and had horns, Roogna hit the nail on the head with Zev. Zev is A deep purple almost black with strawberry blonde/pink hair that is quite soft, has two adorable handmade horns and the cutie mark is hand painted it features a crescent moon and stars. The hair has been glued on the inside for stability and was hand placed by Roogna, certain features on the ponies such as horns, feathered feet and similar features are hand created by Roogna. Please note that these creations are pieces of art work, depending on which features have been added onto the pony they can handle light play but work best as display pieces for your collection, These ponies shouldn't be left in direct sunlight because with all painted items it will become sun damaged over time. Roogna has  won People's Choice awards at the annual MLP Fair, and has hosted a panel on the MLP Customizing at GeekGirlCon 2012 and Yama-Con 2013. Your custom pony is in good hands with Roogna, if you are looking for the perfect gift for the pony lover in your life you should contact Roogna for a custom request. Roogna has an eye for detail the pony I received is restored to what I believe is better than the original, the horns are well blended unless you were told they were hand made then glued to the head you wouldn't be able to tell.

Want to know a bit about Roogna? She had ponies as a child in the 1980s, and loved the toys along with the show. She began actively collecting in the 1990s, in the mid 1990s she began helping pioneer the customizing / modifying of My Little Pony toys. She thought it was a wonderful feeling to express art while also rescuing ponies that were in poor condition that would have been unwanted other wise. She would take each run down pony from being unloved and turn it into a well loved pony through artistic reinvention! Since then, She has been continually refining her skills and expanding her horizons. This includes cleaning and restoring vintage ponies as well as rehairing, painting, and sculpting to create new, original ponies as works of art. Feel free to check out her work on deviantart and don't forget to visit her Etsy shop.

Prize Alert:
One lucky reader will win their choice of ANY pony plush from Roognas etsy shop.

Indy & Ron Desginer Prints Review and Giveaway

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by The art & designs of Ron & Indy to be used for the review & giveaway Free of charge.****

If you visit my blog often you will see that I am a gamer & I can be quite the nerd when I want to be. One of the games I played constantly growing up was the Legend of Zelda which was loved for many reasons, when ever I get the chance I still play Zelda so it comes to no surprise that I was attracted to the Link and Princess Zelda prints sold by RonGuyatt a wonderful shop on Etsy. The Art & Designs of Ron Guyatt & Indy Lytle is bold yet subtle all of the prints they offer are eye catching and make for a wonderful conversation starter between your friends and yourself.

Ron & Indy offer dozens of designs from many different video games and movies which makes it hard to narrow down a favorite print, I personally loved their Little sister print but for my review I choose a print I knew a good friend of mine would love. For my review I received a set of their Princess Zelda & Link posters along with a copy of their Portal Nouveau - Screen-print Poster. The posters arrived well protected in a poster tube, each poster has a thin piece of paper between them to keep them safe from scratches and sticking, Shipping speeds were marvelous. The prints are printed well, each design is bright, crisp and stunning perfect for being "grown up" art while still showing off a piece of your childhood. When my fiance & I first moved out on our own we were both eighteen our home decor consisted of band posters and random pictures pinned to the walls which after a while my mother suggested we get more "grown up" art work. We may have become older but we don't want to give up the things we love just because were adults so prints such as those I received from Ron & Indy are a perfect mixture of the things we love and having the feeling of more "adult" art work. These prints look wonderful in frames, I choose black for the prints I received but I believe they would look perfect in any color frame. The prints are 9 x 13 which is in my opinion the perfect size, Why? Frames are easier to find in the standard sizes, I can walk into a number of stores and find a 9 x 13 frame that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Other prints I have bought or received came in larger or odd sizes which made it difficult to find a frame, with the Zelda prints I found nice frames at the first store I checked.

The prints are made using Canon Dye Inks on Professional Grade Premier Imaging Micropore Luster Paper (or Better), 10.4mil RC Photo Base, 270 GSM. The paper the posters are printed on allows them to be quite sturdy it is a mix between card stock and poster board, It can be easily rolled up for storage without the print being ruined. Each design is well thought out goes perfectly with the theme of the game or movie without being exactly how they are shown in the game since you never really get to see a clear picture of the game characters they create an image for you. I love all three prints that I received and so did my friend who likes Zelda! Ron & Indy hit the nail right on the head when it comes to skillful designs. Want to know a little about the artists? About Ron; He loves to Design Posters & Create Illustrations. He also enjoys Digital Editing and Photography. Many people have described his style as influenced by Art Deco & Futurism. About Indy; Indy is a passionate artist who loves to create character illustrations. Her style is influenced by Art Nouveau, Comic Books and Pinup artwork. Please feel free to visit their personal websites you can find Ron's website Here and you can visit Indy by clicking Here. I think that any of their art work would be great for a childs room, a teenagers room or a living room, game room and so forth. I will personally be looking into getting more of their poster prints in the future.

Flatten Me Giveaway & Review

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others.Products were Provided by Flatten Me for the Review free of charge****

Growing up with a unique name I was always bummed out when I went to the "Name plate" section & knew I would never find my name, times have changed & you can get almost anything personalized now. Since my kids have unique names as well I enjoy getting them custom products with their names on them, so when I was offered a change to work with a company called Flatten Me on a review & giveaway I said yes right away.

For my review I received their "OWL Always Love You" hard cover book which can be customized with your child's name & a dedication page. Here is a little bit of information about the book from the Flatten Me website "Unlike traditional bedtime tales, the Owl Always Love You personalized storybook makes your child the star of the story by repeating his name in the narrative. Your little one will be drawn in by the beautiful illustrations of fuzzy (and sometimes silly) owls settling down for a good night’s sleep, and he/she will love the ethereal images of soaring kites and starlit skies."

I personally love this book the illustrations are simply beautiful they are whimsical yet life like at the same time, each page features an adorable fuzzy owl that goes with the theme for that page. My favorite page from the book says "Owl Always Love you "K" like the sun loves the moon. Owl Always Love you like a song loves a tune." I had a fun time reading this to my son and will continue to read it to him at bedtime, He is a bit young to fully understand the book aside from looking at pretty pictures but I know he will enjoy this book more as he gets older. Flatten Me also offers books that can be customized with photos, T-shirts, Wall art, Cards & Water bottles. The "OWL Always love you" book is $29.95 for paperback or $39.95 for hardcover plus S/H, I think these books would make great Birthday,Christmas or anytime gifts for the people you love most.
