Age Of Wonders: Planetfall Board Game Review!

I am always on the lookout for new & exciting games to play with my family, so when I was offered a chance to receive an early release copy of a game called Age of Wonders: Planetfall, how could I say no? This game is designed for two to six players ages fourteen and older, game play takes twenty to forty minutes. It is published by Arcane Wonders and can be purchased for $44.99. The art in this game is beautiful, I love the attention to details & the bright colors that are used on not only the planets but the rest of the player cards as well.

In this game you will be playing as one of six commanders that each are a leader of their own surviving race in a futuristic planet exploring game. Each commander has their own special ability & starts off with different stats than the rest of the cards. You can either let each player look at the cards ahead of time & select which player they would like to be, or you can have everyone choose at random. During our first round of this game, we each selected who we wanted to play, each round after that we decided to start choosing at random so that we had a chance of mixing up the special abilities each time.

The game is played over seven rounds, during each round players are allowed two turns to collect cards, resources and victory points. The order in which players go will change each round so you will need to think of your plan of attack ahead of time, but also be ready to change your plans as needed if someone snags a card you wanted. This game can be pretty fast paced & is a lot of fun to play, all of us have been having a blast playing Planetfall.

The set up is simple, it takes less than five minutes to get everything pulled out & where it needs to go. This card consists of the board, playing cards, players mats & players pieces otherwise there isn't anything over complicated in this game, so it is perfect for when you want an easy & fast fun game to play. Sometimes we are short on time but want to play a boardgame so games like this are perfect. I also like that if we wanted to take this on a road trip with us, I could fit everything from the game into a smaller container to take with us to play. It makes a wonderful addition to our board game collection.

Is this a game you would enjoy playing?

This is fully awesome. It feels a lot like a PC game that's been translated to a board game.

I am a fan of the video game of the same name. It is a survival video game. The collapse of the Star Union, a galactic empire. You explore different planets, fight enemies, research technologies, and claim landmarks.

I think that we would really enjoy this game. I love the artwork and the attention to detail. My kids are heading towards an age that this would also suit them too.
