Smile with Charlie Chaplin!
Candlewick Press is always impressing me with the wide range of subjects their books cover and they've done it yet again with a book called "Smile: How young Charlie Chaplin taught the World to laugh (and cry)" which as you could guess is about Charlie Chaplin.
Okay so I have to admit I don't believe I have ever watched a full Charlie Chaplin film, but I've seen bits and pieces plus growing up I heard his name mentioned often. This is a neat book that talks about his up bringing, how he got started and more. The book much like the man himself will put a smile on your face as you follow his life through out the forty-eight page book. The back of the book also includes additional facts about him, which was neat to read and learn about. The illustrations in this book are quite interesting, they use more of the dark tones and the images aren't super detailed but it still captures the imagination and takes you back to another time. This book retails for $17.99
Do you know who Charlie Chaplin is, and have you ever watched any of his films?

April Beauty & The Book Disney Giveaway!
Each month I try to give the "Beauty & The Book" Giveaway a theme if I am able to, this month I found a book I find quite interesting and intriguing that happens to be a Disney-Hyperion published book. Thus I decided to make this month's theme "Disney" and all of the beauty products included in this relate to a Disney character somehow which I will go over below.
But first I wanted to tell you a bit about this months book I've included in this giveaway. This is a YA book but I think many adults especially those who love Disney will enjoy this as well, even my husband was interested in reading it once I read the description to him (I bought a copy for us as well). The book is called "The Wooden Prince" and it is the first book in the Out of Abaton series.
Here is the book description:
"The automa Pinocchio has always been duty-bound to serve in the floating palace of Venice's emperor. So when Pinocchio finds himself locked in a trunk and delivered to a new master-a wanted criminal and alchemist named Geppetto-he is curious about everything around him. But most curious is the way Pinocchio seems to be changing from a wooden servant into a living, human boy. Before Geppetto and Pinocchio can uncover the mystery surrounding the automa's transformation, Pinocchio is stolen away. Determined to find Geppetto again, Pinocchio begins a harrowing journey across the Empire, where danger in the form of half-beast outlaws and winged airmen abounds for a lost automa."
This months prize pack includes the following non-beauty products:
Hard copy of "The Wooden Prince", TusmTusm Photoframe + Puffy Sticker set, TusmTusm Coin Purse, Alice in Wonderland talking flower ring, Disney Family Feud Travel game, Maleficent Plush Tusm Tusm, Womens XL shirt in Black that says "I'm 99% sure that I'm a Disney Villain".
And of course the Beauty products included in this giveaway are:
Red Apple face mask inspired by Snow White, A Lion hair mask inspired by The Lion King, A purple Anna Sui eyeliner + A purple NYX soft matte lip creme + purple nails inspired by Maleficent and a cute Luxury bath soap that reminded me of Cruella Da Vil.
This is open World Wide!! Please remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your mandatory entry into the giveaway then all of your entries will be void. Doing the Daily entries will increase your chance of winning. Winners have 72 hours to respond to the notification email! This giveaway is hosted by ME and is not associated with any of the brands mentioned above.
This giveaway ends on 05/11/2019

capriPRO electric toothbrush Review + Giveaway with SmileBrilliant.
When it comes to brushing my teeth I have almost always used a regular manual toothbrush, the only time I tried an electric toothbrush was when I found some kids electric brushes on sale for $5 so I bought my kids each one and picked one up for myself. It did alright but it in no way compared to the new cariPRO Ultrasonic electric toothbrush by SmileBrilliant.
This toothbrush has five different settings which I will go over below;
1. Clean: Standard mode for superior daily cleaning. This is the mode I've been brushing my teeth with as I've found it is the setting I like the most for daily use. The clean mode gently vibrates back and forth to give your teeth gentle cleaning. When this setting is on you'll hear a gentle buzzing.
2. White: This is the most powerful cleaning mode for removing surface stains, polishing and vigorous deep cleaning. They aren't kidding when they say this is the most powerful mode out of the five settings, it vibrates at a higher speed and is quite a bit louder than the previous speed. When I brush my teeth with this setting I can feel it vibrating all the way up into my cheek bones! It leaves my gums feeling almost tingly after brushing my teeth.
3. Massage: Gentle gum pulsation mode for gum stimulation. For complete coverage, use with another cleaning mode. This mode will help with the blood flow in the gums as it gently pulsates vibrations to your gums.
4. Gum Care: Gum mode for gentle cleaning along the gumline. For complete coverage, use with another cleaning mode. This mode and the massage mode are used after mode one or two to help keep your gums as healthy and fresh as can be. This setting gently vibrates for a moment then gives off a pulse vibration.
5. Sensitive: Ideal for users who find the default clean mode to be slightly too aggressive. This gentle cleaning mode is tuned well for those who have sensitive gums and teeth. The vibrating of this setting is very gentle, it still helps clean your teeth and stimulate your gums without overwhelming your gums.
I brush my teeth twice daily, once when I wake up in the morning and once before bed. I also floss and use a tongue cleaner to help keep my mouth well taken care of, but I am not going to lie the first time I used the 'White' mode my gums felt slightly sore how much it vibrated my gums, but I haven't had that issue since. They recommend brushing your teeth at a 45 degree angle for the best coverage and results. Each mode lasts for two minutes and goes for 30 second bursts with a second or two at a time, this is so you can brush each section of your mouth for 30 seconds. The short pause in-between allows you to move to the next section of your mouth. I wish it had a slightly longer pause after a minute to make it easier to spit out any toothpaste build up in your mouth. I brush my teeth for about three minutes, I do the recommended two minutes using the mode, but I don't split it into four big sections like they show on their pamphlet instead I break it down into five. I do the back sections first then I do my front teeth as one section, I also brush my tongue. After I am left feeling clean, refreshed and healthy. I have noticed that the toothbrush is helping keep my teeth looking nice and white, which is quite nice. This tooth brush is pretty long, from the top of the brush head to the bottom of the toothbrush it is as long as my forearm which is a little awkward at first when brushing your teeth but you'll find the most comfortable way of holding it for you.
A helpful tip, I suggest turning the toothbrush off before removing it from your mouth while you are brushing, otherwise one or two of the settings (white) vibrates enough it will fling little toothpaste foam pieces all over. You also only need a small amount of toothpaste when using this toothbrush, I always rinse my brush after each use but even if you rinse it all of the toothpaste may not come off, the vibrating of the toothbrush head on this toothbrush helps prevent that toothpaste buildup. Before you use your electric toothbrush for the first time charge it for 24 hours, it will last for 30 teeth brushing cycles before it needs to be charged again. The standard brush package comes with one toothbrush, two replacement heads and a charger for $119 using this with their whitening system will give you the best results if you are seeking whiter teeth. If you are only seeking healthier teeth I suggest just buying the toothbrush. If you want to know more about their whitening kits you can read my previous review with them Here.

Pop-Up Shakespeare Book Giveaway!
Did you know that April is National Poetry Month? Along with it being poetry month, April 23rd is National Talk Like William Shakespeare Day. I have a fun little giveaway that will help you celebrate both holidays.
Pop-Up Shakespeare
Every Play and Poem in Pop-up 3-D
by The Reduced Shakespeare Co., Austin Tichenor and Reed Martin
illustrated by Jennie Maizels
Read about William Shakespeare’s plays, sonnets, and poems as you never
have before in an entertaining pop-up book collaboration between the
internationally known comedy troupe the Reduced Shakespeare
Company and best-selling illustrator Jennie Maizels. Featuring five
interactive spreads filled with dramatic pop-ups, fun foldouts,
hilarious summaries, and fascinating commentaries, this is the perfect
introduction to one of the world’s greatest playwrights
and his enduring works. This book has dozens of interactive flaps and pop-ups to explore and read, it is a lot of fun for all ages. I do want to note that this book does include all of his works, on one small part of the book it has a "Shakespeare's Long Poems" which doesn't have the entire poem but gives a short description of them including one titled "The Rape Of Lucrece", it doesn't have the poem it simply says "Dark and Violent and not romantic at all." Some parents may not want their child to read that little section and start asking questions about what it is so I would skip that little flap or perhaps tape it down?
This book gives shortened versions or information about each of his works, it does not include the whole plays or poems. For example "Romeo & Juliet" gives a summary of the play but leaves out their deaths at the end.
I have two copies of this book to giveaway, you can win one by filling out the form below:
This is open to US Readers only!! Please
remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your

Head out to see the Venardos Circus!
If you ever have the opportunity to attend a show at the Venardos Circus when they visit your home state, I highly suggest taking the chance and attending the show. The Venardos Circus offers a nostalgic circus experience the whole family is sure to enjoy. We've taken our children to two different circus shows in the past but both were in big building venues and not quite the same as being in the big stop so we were very excited to learn the Venardos circus performs in its own custom-made big-top, a classic red-and-white striped tent, with an intimate feel and limited seating.
Seating under the big top is limited spacing so you'll want to be sure to buy your tickets online before the show time of your choice. As you can see there are three different seating options, the ringmaster VIP is right next to the stage and when I say it is close I mean it is close! You could put your feet up right on the stage you are so close. The ringmaster seats are the first row followed by two rows of premium seating, with four rows of general admission behind that, But don't let the general admission fool you because no matter where you sit you are quite close to the stage. The photo above was a photo I took from the concession stand line, as you can see all of the seats have a great view of the show.
This circus is a 15-person traveling tour that is completely self-contained, much with the original circus tradition. There are no animals in this circus, it is completely animal free. Not only do the performers put on a show for the audience but they also set up for the different acts/set up the tent, they also scan admission tickets, offer face panting and more so you have a chance to seeing and speaking with all of them before and after the show. Parking is generally free however depending on the location they set up at, there may be a small parking fee. They offer a pre-show that starts one hour before show time. I recommend arriving early to see the pre-show especially if you have younger children. Entering was easy as could be, since the audience is smaller there aren't as many cars to deal with in the parking lot or giant lines waiting to get in/to get food, it took us about five minutes to park, walk up, get our tickets scanned and get into line to get food while spotting where we were going to sit. Sometimes big crowds can be a little intimidating and may make people feel uncomfortable, you won't have any of those feelings here!
During the pre-show children and adults are invited to join a few of the performers on stage to learn how to juggle using a fabric scarf. My son decided to join them up on the stage and he had so much fun, he kept saying all night how he couldn't believe he was able to get on the stage. As soon as we got home he was so excited to tell his dad about being on stage as well (he was going to come with us but sadly he was sick and wasn't able to attend). The entire show was interactive, many of the performers either went into the crowd or brought a member from the audience up on stage to participate. One of the acts had us in stitches we were laughing so much our cheeks hurt, other acts had us on the edge of our seat watching the talented ladies balancing on a beam and fabric high up in the air without a net below them or a harness around their waists. We were also very excited when we spotted a cross-bow set up because it always means a dangerous stunt! I won't go too much into each act because I want you to visit this circus and experience it for yourself.
My children and I had a fantastic time, we were smiling, laughing and amazed the whole time. The entire two hour show went smoothly and efficient, some of the crew members were moving around setting up for the next performance at the end of the current performance it didn't distract from the show itself. You'll be entertained through-out the whole show, in fact the intermission happened quicker than expected because you are having so much fun you lose track of time. The experience and performances are one hundred percent worth purchasing a ticket for, as I stated all of the seats are great but it would have been neat to be in a VIP seat as well, so if you can I'd opt for VIP.
They had plenty to offer food and drink wise, and they had different merchandise to buy as well. My kids were pretty excited to pick up some popcorn and cotton candy from the concession area and we bought a lemonade to share. All of the crew members were happy and seemed to be in great moods which also helps boost the experience, because when you see them excited to perform for you it makes you happy and excited as well. There were only two small things I had a little issue with the first is the amount of fog their fog machines were putting out, mainly because my camera did not like fog so it didn't want to adjust properly for me so I resorted to using my phone to capture photos for this post. The second was the lemonade tasted quite a bit off, I am unsure if it is due to the way it was made, the water used to make it or another factor but children and myself were a bit bummed out about it. Otherwise this event will be one we will remember for a very long time, the kids are still talking about it two days later and can't wait to tell more people about their circus experience. Keep an eye on my Instagram page, I will be sharing a video or two from the event!
The Venardos Circus will be in Tempe,Arizona from April 11th 2019 until April 28th 2019 and will be located at Singh Medows 1490 E Weber Dr Tempe, AZ 85281. Tickets are $25 per adult and $15 (12 or younger) if you buy them online, Premium reserved seating + VIP seating is available for purchase as well.
Disclaimer- Tickets were provided by The Venardos Circus to check out their show in exchange for my review. No other compensation was provided. However, no product compensation will influence the outcome of any review. My honest opinions are used in all reviews, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. My reviews are posted for readers in order to provide an informed decision before purchase.

A Cookie, A Bear and their hats!
This morning I have two fun and adorable books that both happen to have something to do with a hat! My children and I all highly enjoy both of these books and are happy to add them to our bookshelf.
By Laura Dockrill. For Ages 3-7, Retails for $16.99
This book starts off with the character interacting with you, when the book is opened it is acting as the sunrise which awakens the character from their sleep and starts them off on their day. The character is a cute little cookie who is in a grumpy mood and doesn't want to be bugged, but as you turn the pages he figures he might as well let you know why he is grumpy. After a long day including a bad hair cut, a hat that fits too small, the dinner being out of ice cream and more he comes to realize that everything isn't quite as bad as he thinks it is. At the end he is very happy you stuck around with him during his entire day and story about what happened and it helps cheer him up.
I personally love the illustration in this book, everything is bright, crisp and attention grabbing. Plus all of the food walking around and talking is pretty cute as well. I think a lot of people can relate to this book because a lot of us have woken up grumpy which can negatively affect our day even if everything isn't as bad as we think it is.
By Jon Klassen. For Ages 2-5, Retails for $8.99
This cute book follows a bear who is on a journey to find his lost hat. I think the thing I love most about this book is how polite and patient the bear is while asking all of the different animals if they have seen his hat. My husband and I have always worked on teaching our children how to be polite, they ask please when asking for things and say "No, thank you" or "Yes, Please" when answering others. In this book the bear always makes sure to say "Ok. Thank you anyway." when the animals tell him no, they haven't seen his hat. I really enjoyed and appreciated that! During his journey he was even sweet enough to help out an animal or two when they needed it. So does he end up finding his hat? You'll have to read the book to find out. The book was originally released as a hardcover book, but they recently released it as a board book as well. It is the perfect size for little hands to hold onto and tucks into a purse, bag, or backpack very easily so you can take it with you on trips.

Win 4 Tickets to The Venardos Circus coming to AZ!
When I was about six I went to a big top circus with my family, the experience was a lot of fun being inside the giant tent and seeing the performance while eating popcorn and cotton candy. In the last few years I've been to two different Circus shows, both of which were held inside big venues that cater to wide variety of shows such as ice skating, wrestling, horse shows, etc which doesn't have quite the same feel as being under the big top. I wasn't sure if there was a circus out there still performing in a big top tent providing a more intimate memorable experience that will last a lifetime.
I am very excited to have found the Venardos Circus! Venardos Circus proudly features its own custom-made big-top, a classic red-and-white striped tent, with an intimate feel and limited seating. The circus performers also are the crew in this 15-person traveling tour who are completely self-contained, much with the original circus tradition.
Guests can expect to be transported back in time to the center ring of a centuries-old tradition; but one that has been reinvented for the next generation. With an amazing assortment of aerialists, acrobats, juggling, hand-balancing/contortion, comedy, daredevilry, magic, musical production and much more, this amazing Circus experience will truly delight adults and kids of all ages.
Created by former Ringling
Bros. Ringmaster Kevin Venardos (veh-NARR-dos), the Venardos Circus wraps
world-class animal-free circus acts into a Broadway musical-style format dubbed
"The American Circus with the heart of a Broadway Show." Shows have
been selling out in other states as it opens its first-ever visit to Arizona.

Win Four Children's Books from Candlewick Press.
My last book giveaway went well so I decided to host a giveaway for another bundle of books. I have four wonderful books for young children I'd like to give to one lucky winner. Below you will find the four books included in the giveaway along with a short description about the book.
Noah Builds an Ark - While his family readies his townhouse for an approaching storm, boarding up windows and laying in groceries, Noah heads to the back garden, where beetles are burrowing deeper into the bark and mice are stuffing their hole with moss. Quickly and efficiently, Noah sets to work building an ark for them and other backyard creatures — salamanders and toads, snakes and spiders, even brightly colored hummingbirds. Setting out fistfuls of nuts and leaves, berries and seeds, the boy props a flashlight inside and arranges some miniature furniture for the animals to sit or sleep on. “Come,” Noah whispers to his friends just as his mother calls him inside and the dark storm roars in. From an award-winning author and a Caldecott Honoree comes a quietly inspiring story about how taking action on behalf of our fellow earth travelers can help us face fearsome events. Retail Value $16.99
B Is for Baby - One morning after breakfast, Baby’s big brother is getting ready to take the basket of bananas all the way to Baba’s bungalow in the next village. He’ll have to go along the bumpy road, past the baobab trees, birds, and butterflies, and all the way over the bridge. But what he doesn’t realize is that his very cute, very curious baby sibling has stowed away on his bicycle. Little ones learning about language will love sounding out the words in this playful, vibrantly illustrated story set in West Africa. Retail Value $16.99
A Green Place To Be - In 1858, New York City was growing so fast that new roads and tall buildings threatened to swallow up the remaining open space. The people needed a green place to be — a park with ponds to row on and paths for wandering through trees and over bridges. When a citywide contest solicited plans for creating a park out of barren swampland, Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted put their heads together to create the winning design, and the hard work of making their plans a reality began. By winter, the lake opened for skating. By the next summer, the waterside woodland known as the Ramble opened for all to enjoy. Meanwhile, sculptors, stone masons, and master gardeners joined in to construct thirty-four unique bridges, along with fountains, pagodas, and band shells, making New York's Central Park a green gift to everyone. Included in the end matter are bios of Vaux and Olmsted, a bibliography, and engaging factual snippets. Retail Value $17.99
Birds - Birds come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They like to chat with one another as they fly high and low in the sky. Birds make music, with songs that are like the loving words of a friend, and we are lucky enough to enjoy those sweet melodies. But best of all, birds are capable of flying wherever they please — they just let their hearts guide them. And we can do that, too, if we use our imaginations. In a lyrical ode to our winged friends, the creator of Trees turns her eye to a diverse class of creatures that has much to teach about transcending the barriers that lie between us. Retail Value $14.99
