You Are Light by Aaron Becker

Reading is always quite enjoyable on its own, but that experience is made even better when the book has an added bonus such as flaps, or other types of interactive pages. I was recently sent a copy of a book called "You Are Light" which includes cut outs all the way through the book, each one has a plastic colored piece in it which glows when held up to the light.

You Are Light is a board book that contains sixteen pages and retails for $15.99 it can be purchased from the Candlewick website, Indiebound, Barnes and Nobles, or Amazon. There are twelve+ different colored circles, each attached to a different page, when you first start you'll see all the colors at once and as you flip through the book the colors become less while still corresponding with the page the colors are attached too.

This is a sweet and short book which talks about the light from the sun and how it effects the Earth and tells you about how it helps plants grow. You Are Light is an easy read and perfect for readers at the beginner level, it makes a perfect quick bedtime story for the nights when you still have a lot to get done. The book ends off with "The light is you. And you are light." which I thought was a great ending for this book. I do wish the plastic pieces were slightly thinner so I could shine a flash light on them to reflect the colors onto the wall.
