Earthen Skincare Review!

Summer is here which means hotter weather & if you are a pool bug it means more time being out in the sun, which can lead to dry spots on your skin. Keeping hydrated & using the right sunscreen + skincare products can be a huge help with helping your skin look its best. I recently received two products from a skincare brand called Earthen Skincare & have a short review of those products to share with you.

The first is their repair & lift which is their anti-wrinkle moisturizing serum. Right off the bat the first thing I liked about this product is there is no scent to it, sometimes it bugs me when a skincare product has too many perfumy additives, so no scent is preferable. It also absorbs into the skin right away without leaving your skin feeling greasy, slimy or oily which is also a big plus for multiple skin types. A little goes a long way, one pump of this is enough for half of my face so this bottle should last me quite a while. The little cap/plug it comes with for the pump is also nice, I decided to keep it and put it back in after using it to help prevent any hard build up like lotions get. My skin feels soft and moisturized after using this and I look forward to seeing more results from this after using it for a longer period of time.

The second product I received was the Instantpeel Exfoliant. You'll use the instant peel in the shower so that the steam will help in the process of removing dead skin cells. The instant peel I originally thought was going to be a gel but it is more of a liquidy lotion consistency. The real question is, does it work? Okay so this is a tough one for me, it is always a bummer when I don't like a product then have to write about it. But, it is always good to know pros and cons though so here we go. The formula itself is a little too much of a water consistency, I checked out some reviews on amazon (it has great reviews on there) and noticed someone mention that the product quality has changed, and it wasn't always this consistency. Following the directions this is meant to be used in the shower so that your skin has a little time to loosen all the dead skin & dirt, but the product is hard to handle in the shower, so some gets wasted.

I tried this out in the shower following the directions and then again when I wasn't in the shower instead I just got my arm damp before trying this out a second time. The way it works is similar to a exfoliating scrubber to where the friction & product rub off the dead skin. Watching as I was using it on my arm, I almost feel like it is just the product drying and then rubbing off that creates the effect especially as it stayed just white whereas with a exfoliating glove it usually has a greyish hue due to the combination of dead skin and dirt coming off. I personally didn't notice any difference in the spots I tested the product on. Everyone has different skin, so it could just be that it doesn't work for me, because the reviews on amazon others had awesome results.

They have a number of other products as well to check out if you are looking for some help with your skin this summer.

Save $$$ this summer with Museums for All.

Sometimes it can be hard for families who are low income to go out & have a fun time with the family simply because of ticket prices, so knowing about awesome programs like Museums for All can be extremely helpful to know. What is Museums for All? It is a program that hundreds of museums across the United States participates in to help provide families on SNAP/EBT benefits with free or reduced prices for museums in their area.

Every state will have a different number of museums that are participating so they have made it easy for you to locate which museums in your area are included. You simply need to visit their website & select your home state to see a complete list of participating museums. For example Arizona has eleven different museums that participate in different areas of the state. A few of our favorite spots to visit are on the list along with some other options we haven't visited yet. In order to receive the discount, you'll need to show your SNAP card + ID that matches the name on the card at the box office where you purchase tickets at each museum.

Once you've located a museum you'd like to visit you can then check out that museums website for official information on the discount through Museums for All. For example, the Arizona Science Center provides tickets for $3 per person for SNAP card holders. Normally tickets are almost $22 for adults & $16 for children so using this discount is huge, especially for families that have more than one child or adult who will be visiting at one time. These savings can then be put towards visiting another museum during the summer, towards weekly expenses or getting to go out to lunch.

Some museums also offer certain days during the month where it is free to visit for the general public, which is a great option but it can get a little crowded, so Museums for all may be a better option if you want to avoid more people than usual.

Even if you don't see your local museum or even zoo on the list provided by Museums for All, I highly suggest looking around their website anyways for any discounts they offer. There are many zoos and more that offer the same type of discounts for SNAP card holders that you can take advantage of. If you know someone who could benefit from this program that might not have heard of it I encourage you to pass this post along to them.

🌡 If you live in Arizona check out the "Things to do in Arizona" section of my blog to find entertainment, restaurants, vacation spots & more.

**This is not a sponsored post, nor did I receive anything in exchange for this post. I know how tough it can be when you are struggling and I always love sharing ways to help families & individuals save some extra funds while still being able to explore and have fun.**

My Shelfie newest addition to Lucky Duck Games!

It's been a while since I've shared a board game review, We've had some other activities and video games pulling our time away from sitting down to enjoy a board game. So I was excited to receive one of the newest games in the Lucky Duck Games catalogue to check out with my family, we all sat down over the weekend to learn the game and play a few rounds. The game is called My Shelfie, and the whole point is to earn points by how you organize items onto a shelf. This game is easy to play it is designed for ages 8+, it can be played by 2-4 players and takes around thirty minutes to play a game. You can purchase it for $40 on the Lucky Duck Games website.

The main game pieces are a plastic shelf that works similar to how connect four boards are set up. There are slots at the top where you will drop the pieces you collect into and then you can get them back out the same way at the end of the game, You'll find four of these shelves in the box. The item pieces are small card board pieces that fit perfectly into the board plus a carrying bag for them. You will also find two sets of cards, a game board and a small card board chair.

My Shelfie is easy to set up & simple to understand, your first game will be under way in no time. You will get a personal goal card plus two common goal cards will be set up next to the board. If you are able to match spaces on your personal goal card with the items you place on your shelf, you'll score points. Everyone will also be trying to complete the common goals as well to beat the others to a higher point score. It can get pretty interesting trying to complete both the common goals along with your personal goals as they might clash a bit so you really need to plan out your moves.

I enjoyed the game it was fun trying to race to the specific pieces I needed to complete my shelf the way I wanted before someone else grabbed them. You choose to grab up to three pieces each turn, however the rule is they need to be in a straight line and have to have one open side at the start of your turn which can be challenging depending on how tiles have been laid out vs what you need. Some turns you will only be able to grab one tile, and another turn you'll be able to snag three that you need. This also comes into play with how the game ends, the first person to completely fill their shelf ends the game. However, depending on where the person who finishes first sits can have quite the impact on your final score as the game will continue until it reaches the person who sits to the right of the person who started first. This means if the person on the right of the first person is the one who finished first then the game ends right away and no one else has a chance to try to score a few more points. So far I haven't won a game, but it is a lot of fun and I look forward to playing more of it.

I like how the item pieces look that go onto your shelf, they range from books to cats and plants. It is fun seeing how different everyone's shelves look at the end of the game. It will make a great addition to any board game collection especially for families who are looking for board games that are easy for kids to understand.

International Wildlife Museum a unique tourist spot in Tucson.

This isn't necessarily a spot I would have at the top of my list of places to visit, however we decided to check it out & it ended up being a pretty unique experience. One of the places that is included in the Pogo Pass is the International Wildlife Museum in Tucson. If you don't know what a Pogo Pass is it is a one time pass you purchase then over the course of the year from the day you purchase the pass you'll get into a variety of different venues for free saving you hundreds of dollars. Use code 6c8d10a3 to get a pogo pass for $60 each. Anyway, enough about the Pogo Pass let me tell you a bit about this museum. First and foremost it is located at 4800 West Gate Pass Blvd Tucson, AZ 86745 & is $10 per adult and $5 per child. :)

The International Wildlife Museum is a collection of over four hundred lifelike taxidermy specimens which are on display in a building that looks like a fort/castle. In front of the museum is a pond with a bridge you can walk over & see the fish swimming below. You will also find a large lion statue to snap picture with along with a cheetah near the front door. The building has an easy self guided system, the building loops around back through the gift shop but just in case they do provide maps so you know which exhibit you are in.

I like that they had different areas dedicated to certain subjects such as a room completely filled with birds, a predator & prey section and more. Some areas of the museum you are allowed to touch, for example the room that has a bunch of different horn & antler types along with some skulls and teeth have a sign that says "please touch" so you are able to see what the different antler types feel like. Along the way through the museum they have some specimens that are out in the open & able to be touched, it was so neat to be able to feel how different animals you wouldn't normally get to touch feel. However it should be noted on the maps of the museum they have a note asking you to stay on your side of any roped areas, so if a specimen is on the other side of a rope please don't touch it.

I loved the collection of butterfly & moth specimens they have, I collect them myself so I like seeing the massive collection they have. We also saw some gigantic puzzles in frames that adorn the walls through out the museum, I've never seen puzzles that big before. We also really liked how they had everything grouped and staged through out the museum, for example they have a giant mountain set up with mountain goats lined up along the mountain which is neat to see as that is how it would be out in the wild. They also had hand sanitizer stations set up along the way for you to use if you felt like you needed a refresh.

In total I would say we were there for about an hour to an hour and a half which is pretty good for a spot like this. If you get thirsty or a little hungry they have a few snacks along with an icee machine in the gift shop, though I was a little surprised they weren't selling framed butterfly specimens in the gift shop. We had a good time walking around looking at everything & talking about the different animals together. If you are looking for more adventures in Tucson type in "Things to do in Tucson" or "Things to do in Arizona" in the search bar of my blog, I have several more fantastic animal attractions and more in Tucson to share with you & when all done within a few days it makes for a action packed vacation.

**This is not a sponsored post, we used our pogo pass in order to get in however we weren't provided anything from the museum.**
