Dust Bunnys Bubbles Review!

When I shop for bath products I not only look for something that smells great but something that will leave my skin feeling clean, smooth and refreshed. A wonderful little shop on Etsy called Dust Bunnys Bubbles makes and sells a fun and exciting assortment of natural bath products. For a recent review I was sent a trio of luscious products to review. I was sent a solid bar of soap in the scent "It's Raining", a solid bubble bar in the scent "Honey" and a solid perfume in the scent "Summer Sunrise". They arrived in the cutest little packaging that is eco-friendly and is perfect for gift giving. All of the scents together at first where a little overwhelming just as a forewarning but once they aren't right next to each other and you get a chance to smell all of them at different times they all smell pleasant. 





Honey 3oz Bubble Bar - I've seen solid bubble bars many times online but I've never actually used one myself so I was curious to see how it worked. Instead of liquid bubble bar it is a bar form so it takes up less space to store and it is easy to transport. Generally you will only need about 1oz per bath so this should last you for three baths, to use it you simply break off a chunk and crumble it into running water. The bar creates a ton of bubbles and it smells wonderful,the scent is delicate, soothing and relaxing. This bubble bar was easy to use and the crumbs are quite soft it left my skin feeling lovely without feeling greasy and it made it to where I kept smelling my hands because the scent was so lovely. The bar has little oat pieces in it but when you are taking a bath you won't notice them in your bath and they wash down the drain easily.

"It's Raining" bar soap - This bar has a fresh scent that kind of reminds me of the Irish Springs soap, it has a nice meadow after the rain scent and is pleasing to the senses. It is a pretty decent sized bar of soap so it should last you quite some time. I like that the top of the bar of soap has ridges because it makes it easier to hold onto the soap without it slipping out of your hands. This soap won't leave your skin feeling dried out which is a big plus!

"Summer Sunrise" Solid Perfume - This is also a new product I've never tried before with any brand. It is hard to place my finger on what exactly this scent is, it has a bit of an orange scent with something else mixed in. The scents are present without being overwhelming which is exactly what you want when wearing a perfume. You don't want to be one of those people who walk through the store and leave a trail of people behind going "WOAH someone is wearing way too much perfume" instead you want people to be thinking that you smell great when you walk by. I like that this is easy to carry and you don't have to worry about a perfume bottle breaking and getting all over the place, plus there is no mist to make you feel like you are suffocating which is a huge plus for people who can't stand scented mists. You only need a little of this in order to achieve your goal so this little jar can be stretched out and will last you for some time.

Thinking Gallery Review!

I am a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl so I am always on the look out for cute and comfortable t-shirts I can wear not only around the house but also when I am out. Thinking Gallery on Etsy offers and sells a wide assortment of cotton based t-shirts that are quite soft and comfortable to wear. For a review I recently receive their Ravenclaw Quidditch long sleeve t-shirt which is cotton + polyester.



To me it seems like the shirt runs slightly on the small size, but it could just be me I have a large chest that typically likes eating clothing so that could be the reason for it being slightly tight. Even with it being slightly too tight it is extremely comfortable to wear and is a shirt you could not only wear during the day but it would also make a fantastic night shirt because of how comfortable it is. The cut and shape of the neck line is great, it doesn't ride up too high and it also doesn't plummet down into your cleavage.



This shirt has a small tag on the inside of the shirt near where your hips would be otherwise it is tag-less which is nice because it is always irritating having a tag rubbing on the back of your neck in the wrong way. The sleeves are also great, they aren't form fitting and the material is pretty soft and breathable. A spot or two on the inside could have been cleaned up a little better in the machine it was made on but it can happen so it isn't a big fault with the shirt and it wouldn't stop me from purchasing another shirt from the same company. The logo sits completely flat and doesn't stick to itself or the shirt which is great for after it has been washed! It also arrived scent free, once in a while when I receive shirts in the mail they smell like plastic but that wasn't the case with this shirt which I am happy about because it meant I was able to wear this shirt right away. The only thing I might change about these shirts is I would offer the option of being a different position on the team for those who may not want to be a Keeper.  This shirt sells for $18 and is one of the many designs The Thinking Gallery offers including Nightmare Before Christmas shirts and more.

Geek Nest Giveaway & Review!

I purchase and use candles quite often, I love how they make the house smell verses how sprays and burning incense work because sprays and incense can leave mist and smoke in the air which can sometimes be over whelming and make it to where you feel like you can't breathe. Candles on the other hand don't leave that kind of a musk in the air instead they leave a light and airy aroma. I recently came across an Etsy shop called Geek Nest that creates book inspired candles. First let me start by saying how cute is their shop logo? I love candles, books and birds so their logo is perfect to me. I was recently sent two candles to review, one is to be kept for the review and the second was for the giveaway. Since both smell so good I couldn't decide which I wanted to keep so I let my kids pick their favorite of the two and the other will be used for a giveaway here on my blog. Everything came wrapped up in some purple tissue paper and the tins include the shop logo which I thought was a nice touch.





I received "Under the Sea" which is an Ariel inspired candle which smells like sea salt &driftwood and is a gorgeous teal colored wax, and "Upside Down" that is inspired by the Netflix series Stranger things and is a mint,licorice, and moss scented candle. Each candle is in a small round tin and has a burning time of eighteen hours, the wax is made from 75% soy and 25% paraffin wax. Both candles smell savory and charming, I have to admit at first the combination of mint,licorice, and moss threw me off I wasn't sure how it was going to smell and I was surprised to notice that is smelled a bit sweet yet woodsy at the exact same time. The Under the Sea kind of reminds me of how it smells after a good rain fall, it is calming and relaxing and is the reason my children decided this is the one we were going to keep. The containers are nice because even after burning for a few hours the tin didn't get hot to the touch so I was able to move it from one room into another. The wick itself catches quickly when lighting the candle and it holds a solid flame the entire time it is burning, the wax melts evenly and is quite aromatic without being overwhelming.

I am a big note taker, I write down appointment information, shopping lists, I write down what I buy during the week to keep track of finances and more so I need a book that is sturdy enough to stand being opened and closed several times. I recently received a package in the mail that contained a unique journal from a company called Coloring Notebook. What is a Coloring Notebook? It is a hard cover journal that not only contains lined journal paper but it also has intricate coloring pages for you to enjoy and use to unwind.





Each notebook retails for $21.95 which seems a bit pricey for a coloring book but this is far from your ordinary coloring book. I really like the fact that this journal/notebook is hard cover, has a elastic closure, includes an attached bookmark and has a pocket in the back for any important papers, cash,etc. The books come in three different paper types which are blank, lined or grid for my review I received the lined notebook. This notebook comes with 176 pages printed on smooth thick paper, fifty of the pages are coloring pages.I also like that this notebook fits into my purse perfectly because it only measures 5.83" x 8.27" so I can take it with me where ever I go including work that way when I have a little free time I can pull out a few colored ink pens and doodle on one of the pages.



All of the coloring pages are highly detailed and will take you quite some time to fully complete due to how many small areas there is to fill in on each page. Some of the coloring pages are single pages and others will cover the page on both side of the book. The nice thing about this is you do not have to color in everything from start to finish you can color it in how you like and use the bookmark to keep track of what page you are on. I really like this notebook and I am sure it will prove useful for many months to come. I have not used any markers in this notebook as of yet but regular ink pens and gel pens go on smoothly without smearing or bleeding through the page. Shipping was extremely quick for a product that was shipped from overseas and it was well packaged.

My kids love doing all kinds of activities whether it is hands on or in a book if it keeps their minds active and engaged they are happy as can be. When our latest Bookbuddies box from Parragon arrived the kids were ecstatic because every book in this month's box was an activity book. This box arrived just in time because the day after it came was the day we left for our California vacation which meant a long drive so these books came in handy. Want to know what was in our bookbuddy box? The names of all the books we received are below along with mini reviews.





Lots of Dots for Little Hands by Start Little Learn Big -  This is a dot-to-dot connect the dots activity book for ages four to five, but I think a three year old would do well with this also. The thing I like most about this activity book is that it comes with a dry erase marker so your child can do each page over and over again instead of it being a one and done book. None of the numbers go up too high which is nice for kids who can only count to five or to ten. My four year old loves this book and was pretty excited being able to complete each page.

Doodle and Draw Everything by Start Little Learn Big - This is a large activity book with over 150 pages of activities to complete, the age range for this is listed as six to eight. Each activity in this book is half finished and will instruct your child to finish the photo whether it is adding balloons, finishing a dress pattern or adding food to a plate this book is a lot of fun. My four year old son has a lot of fun with this book, he isn't able to read the instructions yet so he asks me to let him know what to do otherwise he does everything all on is own and has a wonderful time completing each page.

Red,Yellow,Blue Sticker and Draw by Start Little Learn Big - My four year old is obsessed with stickers, he likes putting them on his clothing and has a poster board he collects them on in his room so this book was perfect for him because it included over 150 small and large stickers for him to use. This book also includes a number of color and activity pages which are fun and easy for small kids to accomplish. This book is recommended for kids three to six.



The Lion King by Disney - This is a hard cover Disney book that features Simba from The Lion King along with his father. "Simba wants to be a brave king just like his father, but he doesn't expect to inherit the throne of Pride Rock so soon. With the help of his new friends will Simba claim his rightful place in the Circle of Life?" this book has thirty two pages that are sharp, colorful and highly detailed. This book has a little weight to it and is a wonderful addition to any book collection.

Beauty and the Beast collectors tin by Disney - This metal tin comes with a thirty two page paperbook, two twenty-four page activity books, one black and white poster to be colored, a sheet of stickers, and four felt pens. I love Beauty and the Beast so not only was my daughter excited about this set but so was I. I like that the tin can be used as a carrying case/storage case or you can use it to store a number of other things. Everything included in the tin was well made and my daughter has a lot of fun with this set.

All of these can be purchased for less than $10 each, some are listed for less than $5.

When getting ready for a special occasion your outfit isn't complete until your hair is brushed and neat, during certain events your hair can really give your outfit an extra boost. Shop owner Debbie Drew Miller has been making Hair Swirls for the last eighteen years and you can tell she has put a lot of time, thought and effort into perfecting her hair swirls along with making sure her customers are happy. 





Hair Swirls are easy to use and they add an extra sparkle to your hair, the nice thing about hair swirls is it takes only about thirty seconds to place these in your hair or remove them so you can use them even in a hurry and are worried you might be late for your event.I can get them into my daughter's hair without any issue but I have found I need more practice with my own hair, I have pretty thin hair so if I am wearing just a pony tail and want to add a few of these in I have to adjust it a few times to make sure none of the metal is not showing, for some reason they just don't like my hair but I have a feeling it is just me that is the issue. I like the ease of placing these into my daughters hair, she has not complained once that these have pulled her hair or sit uncomfortable on her head plus they are removed easily which is great for kids who don't like to sit still for long. Each swirl has a little cushion on the end to protect your head from the end of the metal swirl. Each swirl is light weight so you won't even notice they are in your hair until someone compliments you on them. I like that Hair Swirls 1 sells a large assortment of swirls for every occasion even St. Patrick's day because then you can color coordinate if you want to wear these as an every day accessory! I Sew For Sanity Review & Giveaway!

I Sew For Sanity is a cheerful Etsy shop that creates scarves, tooth fairy pillows, and more. This shop is ran by shop owner Holly who is quite polite, and speedy when it comes to both communication and mailing out customer purchases. One of the things I like most about her shop is the scarf section, she sells adorable infinity scarves in a variety of fun patterns but the one that caught my eye the most was the listing with the Hogwarts House pride scarves. For my review I received a Ravenclaw scarf which Holly said is actually the most popular house out of the four, that was a little surprising to me because I always figured Gryffindor would be the most popular. Ravenclaw being the most popular is perfectly fine with me though because when it comes down to character traits I strongly believe I would be a Ravenclaw.





This is an infinity scarf but it should be noted that they are not created to be worn as two loops, it is made to be worn as a singular loop as shown in the photos. The second "loop" is there to hide the embroidery. The fabric material this is made from is slightly stretchy which is nice for when you want to position it in just the right way you can fold it or let it out a little like I did in the photo above so you could see the house crest. The scarves come in two different lengths regular which is 35" and long which is 40" for my review I selected the regular length. This scarf is comfortable to wear, it doesn't sit too tightly around your neck but it also helps to keep you warm. It is light enough that you can wear it on a day where it isn't necessarily the coldest day and not overheat from wearing it, it makes me wish it didn't shoot up to 85+ degrees where I am so I could wear it more. The scarf is made from a lightweight cotton jersey knit material which is soft, breathable, non-itchy and easy to wash. The embroidery is perfect there isn't a stitch out of place and the crest lays flat against the scarf so it flows naturally with the material, upon arrival I also noticed there was no smell to the fabric which is nice because the way some clothing type items get bagged in plastic gives them a chemical smell and this scarf did not have that. I am quite happy with this scarf and I look forward to wearing it often. Each house scarf sells for $15 for a regular size and $17 for long, which is well worth the price.



I also adore the tooth fairy pillows Holly sells they are perfect for storing those teeth that fall out so the tooth fairy can easily keep track of the teeth she collects.

Grim Sweetness Giveaway & Review!

Harry Potter played a big role in my childhood, The first time I was introduced to the book series was when my third grade teacher started reading the first book to us as a class. After that I became hooked and waited for each book to hit shelves so I could dive deeper into the realm of Harry Potter and the magic that awaited. Now twenty years after that book was released I still love the series as both a book and movie series, my children love it as much as I do now as well so it is still a big influence on my home. I love collecting trinkets, figures, and other assorted objects inspired by my favorite books, movies, TV shows and video games so when I found Grim Sweetness on Etsy and saw the amazing Harry Potter inspired items she makes and sells I immediately fell in love with her shop and I know my fellow Harry Potter fans will as well.





Grim Sweetness sells an assortment of magical potion props some of which are color changing. For review I received a color changing Polyjuice Potion and Severus Snape's Veritaserum which is also a color changing potion. Each potion is handmade and a lot of small details go into each bottle bringing it life and making you feel as if you really did buy it in Diagon Alley. The Polyjuice stands at 4 1/2" tall and the Vertiaserum is 7 1/2" tall, both are in glass bottles and have a bit of weight to them. The Polyjuice has been sitting still for a bit it appears teal with copper flecks, but once shaken it changes to a deep teal with red-copper metallic swirls that spin around inside of the bottle. After you have given it a good shake the color doesn't disappear right away instead it swirls for a bit then once it stops it looks like a cloud floating around inside of the bottle. I found that the Polyjuice bottle made it a bit more difficult to give it a good shake/swirl to get the color moving around the bottle but the Vertiaserum bottle was perfect and is my favorite out of the two. The Vertiaserum is clear when it has been standing still, and when shaken it turns to a  swirling iridescent white cloud which is quite mesmerizing.



Both bottles come with a handmade label, a dangle charm, and it is sealed with jute twine and wax seals. Other potions she sells glow in the dark and others are potions for your collection, they range in price from $11-$18 which I fully feel is a great price. The price isn't low enough that the seller is out when it comes to supply costs and it also isn't high enough that you are shelling out an arm and a leg to have something that reminds you of your favorite fandom. Keep in mind these potions are for display purposes only, I would not suggest ingesting this. Shipping was quick and everything was wrapped up to keep in protected during shipping so everything arrived in one piece. The next product I would want to collect from her shop is the Floo powder it looks so authentic and almost makes you think you could really use it.
