Cabs Beauty Hair Care Review!

 

I was recently invited to review a set of hair care products from Cabs Beauty which includes their argan oil shampoo, argan oil conditioner, argan oil serum & repair spray. Their products are cruelty free, paraben free, phosphate free & silicone free. I've used a product or two in the past that had argan oil that I enjoyed, so I was excited to try this out to see if it would work with my hair or not. 

I am someone who dyes their hair vibrant colors & sometimes shampoos can be pretty harsh when it comes to stripping more of the color away with each wash than you'd like it to. I have noticed this shampoo removes hardly any color while still cleansing the hair which is wonderful, because it will help the color stay longer which means adding in color less. I also like the conditioner, it helps add some moisture and shine to my hair while helping with my frizz a little bit while keeping the natural wavy bounce my hair normally has. Both of the products lather well & are easy to work through your hair so you are able to get down to the scalp while coating each strand of hair. All of the products have a nice airy scent to them which will last a day or two after washing. The moisture repair spray seems to be a kind of all in one product, it helps with anti-frizz, helps repair while moisturizing & can be used to help prevent damage when using a blow-dryer or hair straightener. 

When I was younger I didn't really like how naturally wavy my hair was so I would straighten my hair quite often, however I have since embraced how my hair looks so I don't really straighten it as often and I always let my hair dry naturally after taking a shower so I mainly use this spray just for some added moisture & frizz control. It does seem to help and adds a little bit of a shine as well which is great. I haven't used the hair serum much, however I've been using it on my husbands hair at night (he has a mohawk type hair style) and he has noticed his hair feels stronger and is softer although his hair was already pretty soft. After using these products my hair does feel soft & looks light and bouncy, I look forward to finishing the bottles and seeing the true end results of using the Cabs products during a longer stretch of time. Price wise they seem fairly affordable, they are on the higher end of hair care products but are still below salon prices. The shampoo & conditioner are $15.80 per bottle, I've used them a few times now and still feel like I have a lot of product left. Depending on how often you wash your hair & how much product you use I'd say the bottles will last one to two months. The moisture spray is $12.80 & the serum is $13.80, both are products you will use very little of with each use so the bottles will last quite sometime.

Litbear Acne Patch Review!

 

When it comes to acne patches they don't need to be ugly little white or yellow dots, there are a lot of cute patches now for those who need to wear them out of the house or just want something fun. One of the brands that carries a number of cute patches is called Litbear & they have several great options in their Amazon shop. If you've never tried an acne patch before, it is a small medicated patch that helps pull impurities from your skin to help you get rid of blemishes. 

The patches have salicylic acid & tea tree oil to help fight the blemish without drying out your skin. Three of their patches come in the shape of animals, they have cats, dogs & panda bears. I received a box of the panda bears to try out for a review. It comes with six adorable designs in just the right size to cover up your troublesome blemishes. They are easy to get off of the sheet & apply to your face, I also like that they don't super stick to your face when trying to get them off after wearing them for an extended period of time. I've tried patches in the past that almost do not want to come off the skin, so I am happy that wasn't the case with these.  

Each sheet comes in it's own packaging to help keep them at their peak performance when not being used. The patches are light weight & you will forget that you are even wearing them until you look in the mirror. The patches have helped me out with a spot or two I had & I know I can reach for these anytime I have an issue to help me out and deal with it quickly. Each set comes with 96 patches, so depending on how often you need one this set should last you quite some time. Best of all you can purchase this on Amazon for just $8.99.

Cessy Charm Cosmetics Review & Giveaway!

 

It is always exciting finding new makeup brands because it means fun new products to try & that you get to support a small. Today I am going to be sharing a brand with you called Cessy Charm Cosmetics. I really like the products I tried out & I have a fun giveaway for some of my readers as well. Above you can see the assortment of products from Cessy Charm Cosmetics, However I did not try out every item in the photo. I will just be talking about the products I personally tested out and the rest I set aside to use for a giveaway at the end of this post, plus I will add one or two products into next month's Beauty & The Book Giveaway as well. If you purchase from this brand you are helping support a dream & a mom of three! Let's dive into the review portion of this post, below you will find the name of the product, price and a short review of the products I tested.

Eyeshadow Palette $25 - This eyeshadow palette has 35 colors which means each one cost less than $1. There is a nice assortment of matte and glitter shadows in an assortment of shades. The pigmentation is bold, goes on smoothly & blends well. I tried out several of these shades & enjoyed them all along with layering some of the glitter shades on top of the matte for a pop of sparkle. 

Pressed Powder & Foundation Compact $13 - The shade I tested (L3 Nude) matched my skin quite well, I was very happy with the coverage it gave my skin. I had no issues with the application of this, there was no excessive build up so there weren't any spots that looked cakey.  This compact is perfect for on the go. 

Silky Sensual Matte Lipstick $14 - The lipstick tubes are a lot of fun, when the light hits it just right it is like a mini disco ball. The lipstick itself applies smoothly & is highly pigmented, it stays well yet is easily removable nor does it stain your lips. I like that it didn't dry and start cracking, it looked smooth and freshly applied the entire time I was wearing it. 

4D Fiber Lash Mascara $14.50 - Several of the products have cute packaging, but this is my favorite! I love how the mascara bottle looks, it is sparkly and is something I will probably keep even after the mascara is gone. This is another product that applies without any issues and it looks great, you can easily build it up if you wish. 

Highlighter Diamond Glow $17.50 - So so shiny! I normally do not wear highlighter, but I think I will use this as an eyeshadow or just to add some sparkles. I tried this out on my arm, it made me feel like a unicorn or like I was about to head to a party. I think this will be nice to add on top of some of the other eyeshadow colors I own to make it pop. 

I look forward to using more of the shades in the palette to create various makeup looks. It would be cool to see them bring out another palette in the future that has more greens & blues included.

Pink Sugar Box Subscription box Review!

I always love a good subscription box, it is fun finding new subscriptions to test out and see if it will become a favorite that you'll want to keep an ongoing subscription for. I recently found & received a box from Pink Sugar to review. They are still relatively new so you may not have heard of them yet, This box doesn't focus on one thing in particular like makeup or house hold items, instead you will get an assortment that could range from makeup to even headphones or even footwear from what the website says. They have three different subscription options you can set for your account; you can set it to receive a box monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly depending on your budget. If you do not wish to subscribe, but want to test out the box for yourself they offer one time boxes that are subscription free. They even offer a Pink Sugar Girls box that is aimed at ages 5-12, which would be a nice treat to give a loved one from time to time. Boxes cost $15 per box along with a S&H charge of $6.50 so your total will be $21.50 per box. 

The biggest question with any of these subscription boxes is, is it worth it? Let's dive into what I received in my box and I will break down the subtotal so we can compare it to the cost of the box (not including shipping). In my box I found;

Spalife charcoal & volcanic mineral peel off mask - I like this brand & have reviewed them in the past, I have been wanting to try a similar product so I was happy to find this in my box. This product can be purchased on Amazon for $5.49 

Spalife Blackhead Extractor - This is a nice extractor tool, the size looks like it will be easy to handle. I already have a set of these, so I will be including this in a future Beauty & the Book giveaway. This product can be purchased on Amazon for $4.14

Fashion Color Block Nail File - Nail files are always good to have on hand, this one is soft & feels more like a nail buffer which is also nice to have on hand to add some shine to your nails. Looking around online I found these in bulk for about $0.16 each.

Rose Gold Rhinestone Bracelet - This bracelet is cute, though I don't really like the material it is made out of. The material is kind of stiff & the piece you use to loosen/tighten the bracelet is very stiff and gets stuck which makes it difficult to use properly. I can not find these online, so I am unsure of the cost of this item. 

Rachel Couture Eye Trio Kit - I've never heard of this brand, but that isn't a bad thing! I am always looking for new brands to try out. This set comes with a liquid eyeliner, a eyeliner pencil & mascara. This kit can be bought online for $10.

So minus the bracelet because I can't find a price for it, the total comes out to $19.79 so you definitely get the base box amount back in the value of the products inside. You also have to keep in mind that this can vary from month to month, depending on what is in the box it could be a similar amount or quite a bit more. I think that this was a decent assortment of products for the first time receiving a Pink Sugar Box. I like being able to find out about new brands in subscriptions like this but I also love seeing familiar brands & favorites, so I was happy to see the Spalife products included in this. 

It is always fun seeing what surprises might await you in each box, which is the main reason why subscription boxes are so appealing. I've received boxes from other brands in the past that were real stinkers and made me not want to get another from them, but I would give Pink Sugar a chance again as they boxes have potential and they are affordable compared to quite a few other subscription services. Shipping didn't take long & everything arrived in a cute pink box.

July Beauty & The Book Giveaway!

I hope everyone has had a good start to their July so far! The start of the month means it is time for a new Beauty & The Book Giveaway.
