Halloween Goodies Giveaway!

Every year I love going to see what new decorations the stores near me have, this year I decided to go a bit early and did a little shopping last month as I had a feeling the stores would sell out quickly. I am glad I decided to do that! Last year I waited until October to shop and almost every store had mostly barren shelves, this year is looking the same as most stores aren't restocking any Halloween goods and are putting out Christmas instead. I think it is a combination of stores just not restocking and resellers snagging all the cheaper goodies which results in the mostly empty shelves. 

I was lucky enough to find a few of the things I was looking for in particular and bought an extra one or two. My best friend and I exchange Merryween boxes that are a combination of Spooky Baskets + Christmas gifts for each other since we live in two different states it is easier for us so a few of the extra goods I bought are headed to her and I also have a few things for two lucky readers. 👻

It helps make it to where I can bring you more great reviews and of course giveaways! Plus I know it is a bummer to miss out on some of the cute Halloween decor out there. ArtWood Giveaway & Review!

One of the things I enjoy collecting is wind-chimes, I love the way they sound and the way they look. I was recently granted the opportunity to work with a great small business called Artwood and they sent me a new piece that is different from my wind-chimes but fits in perfectly. What was it? A gorgeous handmade wood moon shaped sun catcher. I keep my favorite wind-chimes inside hung up in my kitchen to prevent them from getting damaged by the weather and the sun, this sun catcher will be joining my group of favorites. Artwood offers several different sun-catcher options made from different types of wood, in different shapes and thicknesses they also offer different crystal selections so you can pick and choose. Artwood is a family run business which consists of a husband and wife team along with their three children, just by looking at their website you can tell a lot of love and great woodsman-ship goes into make these sun-catchers, it also reflects in their friendly about me and return/refund sections. Every-time someone makes a purchase from their shop they plant a new tree.

I received a medium Spalted Beech sun-catcher which is shown above. I was highly surprised at how quickly the package arrived to me in Arizona,USA considering it shipped from Ireland I was also impressed with how well packaged the sun-catcher was. It arrived inside of a gift box with dark blue package filler and they left the little tag on top which is connected to the sun-catcher string so you can pull it right out of the box without having to dig around for it.This sun-catcher is very well made, everything is sanded down and smoothed out to perfection and it is quite light-weight. The crystal was a lot larger than I had imagined it would be and I love it because it means there is a better chance for it to catch the sun and it will result in a larger rainbow. I didn't notice any scent to it, wood wise or chemical wise from the danish oil they use to give the sun catcher its sheen. As a bonus they can personalize the sun catcher by wood burning a quote or name into it which would make a wonderful wedding or baby shower gift. Christmas Forest Review & Giveaway!

I don't know if you've noticed or not, but the Holidays are coming! I am counting down the days until I can officially start decorating, my fiance and I agreed (or I should say I gave in and agreed with him) that we wouldn't put up the tree or Christmas decorations until a few days after Thanksgiving. However I was given a cheat pass to put up this beautiful Christmas wreath from Christmas Forest.





I received the 20" Jingle Bells Christmas Wreath which features lights, bells and colored ornaments along with a lovely red bow.The wreaths sold on their site are fresh wreaths meaning they use real tree branches, pin cones, etc. and yes eventually after a while will start to dry up but you can help it stay fresh and looking nice longer by giving it a little spritz of water every day. I wish you could smell the wreath through the screen because it smells amazing, it reminds me of being out camping when the weather is cool out. We live in Phoenix which is mostly just desert and cactus so being surrounded by the smell of the woods isn't something that is normal in my home so my cats have been freaking out trying to figure out what the smell is.



My wreath arrived quickly and was packed in a thin plastic bag to keep the moisture in and ensure it was looking and smelling it's best when it arrived, the bow and an extra set of batteries were in a separate bag to protect them. As you can see from the photos above my balls were a little sticky, but it wiped off easily without any issues. I was surprised to see that not only did my wreath come with an extra set of batteries for the lights that are in them but when I went to put them in I realize there was already a set in the pack! This wreath is gorgeous and it is light enough it doesn't take a very large hook but it is heavy enough it won't blow off of your door. I love the bow but I also love it without the bow so it makes it hard to decide which way I would like to hang it up, I can't wait to show this off to my house guests. Each wreath is handmade and as you can see from above they include a little tag letting you know who created your wreath, since these are handmade and made from fresh forest products they may not all be exactly the same but they will all be beautiful and smell wonderful.
