Imagine 3D Mini Golf in Scottsdale,AZ.

We are always looking for fun activities to do as a family and my kids brought up wanting to play mini golf about two months ago. When they brought it up it was still pretty hot out so I didn't want to go to an outdoor course and opted to look for an indoor course instead, which is when I found a place called Imagine 3D mini golf (9180 E Talking Stick Way # F7, Scottsdale, AZ 85250) Which is a small family owned operation. It was between this and another option we were looking at, but ultimately decided to visit this location and I am glad we did.

We recently stopped by for a second visit and I decided to write about it here on my blog so other AZ families could enjoy it too. They are open all week during the afternoon/evenings, normal pricing is $10.95 for ages 10+ and $7.95 for ages 4-9, the best deal day is on Thursdays after 5pm when you mention date night you get a BOGO entry.

Both of the times we went we had two different experiences. The first time we went they were actually pretty busy and there were a bunch of different groups there, the girl who had checked us in told us we could either wait to play the next hole or feel free to play the same hole as another group. We didn't feel comfortable intruding on the group in front of us so we opted to wait our turn for the hole. Everyone there was pretty back to back, we were sandwiched in-between two large groups of visitors with more in front of and behind them and everyone being bunched up made some of the groups want to rush through their games, but everyone was mostly courteous and things worked out so everyone still had fun.

The second time around, there was no one in front of us although a large party group came in directly behind us. We are a group of four so it didn't take us forever at each hole so we stayed about two holes in front of them. Some of the kids in the group would rush through and then descend on the hole we were playing, and run back and forth and over the obstacles getting in the way. Thankfully one of the staff members had come over and asked the group to kind of stick together and not crowd other groups which was nice of them to keep an eye on things.

Everything in the facility is handmade by the owners and the staff that work there, it is hand painted and looks beautiful with or without the 3D glasses they hand out when you first enter.  We really like that each section you visit is a different theme, they have a castle theme, fantasy forest theme, under the ocean theme and more. I think my favorite is the ocean area because between the lighting and the paint it does feel like you are under water or at an aquarium.

I was always kind of in the middle with mini golf mostly because I thought I would suck at it, so I was quite happy I did way better than I had expected even getting a few holes in one or only needing two hits to get it into the hole. At the start they have a score pad if you want or you can just play for fun which is what we did. All 18 holes range in difficulty, the first two are pretty easy and they increase in there with the number of obstacles, angles and more. I am not going to lie, there is one hole that is a pain in the butt and I actually ended up skipping it both times we were there because the ball just didn't want to go in the hole.

If you get tired there are a few benches along the way so you can sit down and rest for a moment which is nice for anyone attending that needs it. Also if you keep an eye on some of the holes there are names hiding within the paintings, they are the names of the owners and staff who worked on the displays. The kids had a lot of fun seeing all of the different decorations and playing mini golf in general.

The time you spend on the holes will range, depending on the number of other groups, how many people are in your group and how quickly you are able to finish each hole you could spend anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours here playing a game. After you are finished they have two air hockey tables and a small arcade with some games (my husband won me a speaker from one of the games). Both times we had a good time and enjoyed our visit, it was nice getting out of the house and being able to do something with the kids. If you are in the area or near the area I suggest checking them out, they also have a location in Gilbert,AZ and as a bonus they give you a 20% off your next visit coupon when you are leaving.

- This isn't a sponsored post, It is just me sharing a fun local activity we did as a family.

This looks like such a cool and unique indoor golf experience, although I do hate when things like this are busy as you do feel a bit of pressure to go quickly x

What a cool place! We used to have a neat indoor glow golf place, but it went out of business. It was a lot of fun and I miss it. Wish I was closer to this one!

I agree, the first time we went it was a bit busy and we felt that way. The second time we went it was at a much better time and it went smoother.

I've never been to a 3D museum, that sounds like it would be amazing as well.

That is unfortunate! It would be nice for a few more of these to be in different states for when the weather is crappy, but you still want something fun to do.
