Doing Good Co. Gift Boxes + Giveaway!

Doing Good Co. aims to make gift giving a breeze, whether you are looking to treat yourself or surprise a loved one with a heartfelt gift, Doing Good Co. has an assortment of pre-assembled gift boxes. They have gift boxes in assorted sizes & themes. You can send them a specific message such as "You are beautiful", "Congrats" & even "Sorry for your loss" or you can send a simple theme such as Watermelon or a seasonal themed box such as the bloom box. I was recently gifted one of their Watermelon themed boxes to check out for review, you can purchase one on their website for $34.99. There is an option during check out to include a personal note which will be displayed so the recipient will see it once they open their box. With Mother's day coming up these gift boxes would be the perfect thing to send to let your mom (or wife) know you are thinking of her. You can get 10% off your order by using code Luna10 during check out.

This gift box comes with eight different products included. You will receive a tumbler with a re-usable straw, a Pura Vida bracelet, a watermelon shelf-sitter, a seed-bearing lollipop, watermelon lip balm, two packets of watermelon cold brew, mini encouragement cards and a postcard. The lollipop is pretty neat, after you have finished your sweet treat you can plant the stick into the ground & water it. Inside of the lollipop stick are basil seeds that will start to grow, such a great way to help reduce a little waste.

I like that the bracelet is waterproof, that way you can keep it on in the shower or in the pool without worrying about it. The mini cards & postcard are a nice touch as well, since the person you gifted them too can then spread the love by sending some snail mail. I haven't tried the cold brew yet, but I am looking forward to it as it sounds quite tasty. I am going to wait until it gets just a little hotter out & have this pool side, in my new glitter cup. This was a nice "Treat yourself" box to recevie, I had a lot of fun opening it and I know I will use everything that is in it one way or another.

Depending on which gift box you are looking to purchase be sure to check out the description on each box. The store owner provides you with a list of everything that comes in the box & makes a note in case anything in the box needed to be substituted & she does a fantastic job selecting a great replacement for anything that needs it. For example the cup in this box is shown on the website as having watermelon slices on it, but it is sold out so it was replaced with this really cute purple glitter cup.

Everything is nicely packaged, the products in the gift box will be snuggly packed into some packing paper. The presentation itself looks great as well, mine came with an adorable Watermelon ribbon around the outside keeping everything together. They also offer custom orders & have singular products you can buy from scrubs to candles.

Prize Alert:

One lucky winner is going to receive a "Sending Sunshine" gift box, shown below.

Gift dad a delicious cheese assortment for Father's Day! + Giveaway!

Father's Day is coming up soon! If you are looking for a last-minute gift idea, you should look into getting a cheese bundle from Cheese Brothers. They sell a wide range of cheese flavors along with some delicious small-town goods from partners they work with to put together gift boxes. We had the pleasure of working with them to check out their Deluxe Charcuterie Pack and I get to host a giveaway for one as well.

The Deluxe Charcuterie pack comes with 6oz of Dill havarti, Fratello, and smoked gouda (two blocks each), 5oz Rhapsody & 8-Year-Aged cheddar (two blocks each), two  5.5 oz. salamis from La Quercia Meats of Norwalk, IA, One 8 oz. jar of Cherry Lavender Jam from Bushel and Peck of Beloit, Wisconsin and One 8 oz. jar of Classic artisan mustard from Mustard and Co., plus one 5 oz. package of Classic White Organic from Potter's Crackers of Madison, Wi. This gift pack can be purchased for $119.95 and includes free shipping & they have a smaller pack which includes half of the items for $65. We think both are a great value for the price given how much cheese is in each pack, and if you aren't a fan of the Charcuterie packs they have plenty of other gift options to select from or you can buy the individual cheeses by themselves.

We decided to take the goods over to my mother's house where we put together a charcuterie tray for everyone to snack on. I included the goods from this pack along with a few other things I picked up from the store for everyone to graze on including honey roasted almonds, grapes, pears and assortment of crackers. I had never put together an actual charcuterie board before & it was a lot of fun to do, I enjoyed laying everything out and looked forward to trying out the variety of cheese.

Most of us are fans of eating cheese, but can be a bit picky with the types of cheese we like. It was surprising just how much everyone loved all of the cheese, even my mom liked one of the stronger bold flavored cheese samples that we weren't sure she would like. Each cheese had it's own unique flavor & scent, some smell a little stronger than the others but all smell delicious. The favorite seemed to be the Fratello which is a mixture of parmesan and Asiago as it was the first to disappear, followed by Rhapsody & the gouda. I actually had to pull the cheese back out to cut some more to refill the tray because everyone enjoyed it so much. We really liked how soft some of the cheese was, I think they would go fantastic in a number of dishes as well such as mac & cheese or pasta.

I am not very good at trying to break down the flavor profile of cheese, so I am not going to attempt to break down each cheese for you. However, I will tell you that I normally don't enjoy many cheeses by themselves or I just don't like them at all, there wasn't a single cheese in this collection that I didn't enjoy. I also really loved the jam included in this box, it was good on crackers, with the cheese and on toast, the mustard was also pretty good and that is coming from someone who eats mustard very rarely. There was very little left on the snack tray after everyone had grazed before dinner, it was nice to have this put together so we could all try the Cheese Brothers. We will all be a bit sad once all the cheese is gone, so it is a given that sometime in the future we will likely order more cheese. I am also looking forward to using some of what we have left in various meals through out the week.

Father's Day Rock Star Handprint Tutorial!

Are you still looking for a gift for Father's Day? This adorable handmade gift is not only fun and easy to make but it is also quick and inexpensive. Gift shopping can sometimes be stressful if you are on a budget or unsure what to purchase, I like buying a gift but I also enjoy making something homemade for the kids to give to their dad and grandpa. I was looking for cute handmade gift ideas for father's day that would suit my father-in-law and I didn't really see any crafts I liked so I was thinking about the things he likes. He likes music and plays musical instruments so I thought why not a cute Rock Star hand print for his music room wall.

Supplies Needed:
1 Canvas - I bought mine at the Dollar Tree but Walmart and various craft stores carry them as well.
Finger Paint/Washable Paint - Can be bought at the dollar store, Walmart or a craft store.
Guitar Embellishment - Can be found at the craft store
Paint Brush
Sharpie - Optional

 Step 1:
In order to create a Rock Star or what we've been calling "Potato People", you will need to pick out a hair color and a shirt color for your Rock Star. We painted the upper half of the palm with a skin color and the lower half with the color we wanted to use as a shirt, then we only put paint on the index, middle and ring fingers to use as the hair.  The thumb and pinky will be painted later.

Fill in any spots on the face and shirt where the palm might not have come into contact with the canvas all the way. Wait for paint to dry.

Step 2:
Once the base paint has dried, you can paint on a headband, eyes and a mouth. I debated adding a nose but we all agreed it looks more adorable without a nose.

Step 3:
Use the same skin color to paint the thumb and pinky finger, the thumb will be used as the arm that holds the guitar and the pinky will be used as the other arm. You can decide which direction you'd like your potato rock star to hold it's guitar and press it down in that direction.

Step 4:
To give it a better illusion of the arm holding onto the guitar we used scissors to cut out the section where the arm goes over the guitar to hold it. Finally you can write your name, the year and anything else you'd like on the canvas using paint or a sharpie.

The Canvas I picked up was only 6" x 8" so it is the perfect size to fit one to two hand prints, my kids are five and nine so their hands were just the right size and my step-sister is ten so it worked for her hand as well or you can fit one adult hand. If you have more than two kids I'd suggest a bigger size. Otherwise this is a great handmade gift that is fun and easy to make and it doesn't take up a lot of space.

💜 Thanks for stopping by and checking out my short tutorial for a Rock Star potato person hand print craft, I hope you enjoyed it!

Shopping for gifts for men can always be a little difficult, usually during the holidays the usual things come to mind like new pajamas, shoes, etc but what I've never really thought about getting before was a watch. When Jord contacted me recently and asked if I would be interested in working with them on a review and giveaway I said yes. Jord sent me a watch for review and wants to giveaway a $100 gift card to one lucky reader. All of Jords watches are hand-crafted wood time pieces that are sure to add a lot of Bang! to your wardrobe.

As soon as I opened the package from Jord I was highly impressed and I had not seen the watch at that point. So what was impressive about just opening the package? The watch arrived in a beautiful wooden box that smelled fantastic, it also came with bonus goodies like a brush on preserver for the watch wood. The wooden box it arrived in is the box you can store your watch it, it has a slotted middle and under it is a small baggie that helps control the humidity in the wood and it has a magnetic top. The watch itself is absolutely gorgeous, fits well and looks great with almost any outfit. Their Men's Watch selection is packed full of unique and beautiful watches.

The clasp is very easy to do one handed, it snaps together flawlessly and pops back open without any issues when you squeeze the release buttons. The watch requires no battery, it is self-winding which is pretty neat and crazy, it doesn't seem possible but you can see it moving all by itself. Size wise the watch isn't too bad bulk wise, and it is definitely and eye catching piece. The piece is doesn't move around a lot it likes to sit right on your wrist which means you won't have to fidget with it when you go to check the time.

Mantry Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Mantry for the review  free of charge.****

Some guys can be a real pain in the butt to shop for especially if you don't know them well, but one thing almost everyone can agree on that they like is food. So why not purchase them a box from Mantry which is a men's inspired food subscription box. What I like about this box that sets it apart from other "snack" type subscription's is that this isn't a snack box, yes from time to time it does come with what would be considered a snack item but it also comes with products that you can use while cooking.

Each box comes inside a small wooden crate with packing filler to keep everything in place and prevent any glass products from breaking. I like that the package is nice to either reuse for another purpose or you can easily take it apart to dispose of it. I haven't quite figured out what I would like to use it for yet, but I will think of something. So let's get down to the meat of the review shall we? The box we received for my fiance to review came with the following products: Pink House Alchemy Sarsparilla syrup, Granola Jones spice-a-delic granola, Fox point farm goat milk caramels, a Raaka chocolate bourbon cask aged chocolate bar,Red Clay hot sauce bourbon barrel aged verde hot sauce, and Parma sausage dry cured pepperoni. The theme for this box was "South in your mouth" and it sure did deliver! Every item included was packed full of flavor, and there was nothing in this box that we've tried before so it was nice to get a box that was completely new to us.

I do have to admit though that I myself didn't really enjoy the goat milk caramels or the bourbon chocolate mainly just because I don't like any hint of alcohol in my foods because I've never really been a drink it makes me sick to my stomach and when they say it is bourbon chocolate you really can taste the bourbon. However on the same note the verde hot sauce I couldn't really taste the bourbon flavor in so it was pretty good, the dry cured pepperoni was also quite delicious. I feel like they did a good job at selecting the products that went into this crate and I love that they provide you with an information sheet that shows you where the products comes from along with information on it. If you would like to subscribe to Mantry they deliver one box that contains six full size products bi-monthly and subscriptions start at $59 for a single box so you are looking at an average value of $10 per item included in the box. Mantry donates 1% of sales to City Harvest, helping rescue over 20 tons of food and redistributing it to families in need of good, fresh food.

Karma Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Karma for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

It always makes me happy when I am able to find products that are not only adorable but are useful and functional as well and Karma offers a wide range of useful gifts in various fun designs and colors. They sell tote bags, coin purses, coffee cups, headbands and more all at an affordable price. Karma is a brand of the Stephen Joseph brand which originally started out in the owners garage and has now grown into a company with 125 employees and a 90k square foot foot factory, their products will show you exactly why they were able to grow so much because everything is well made with the customer in mind.

I was able to look through the site and pick out a few fun products I wanted to try out for review, It was a hard choice to make but I was able to narrow my selections down to four great products. I received the Black and white fox zip coin purse, a large butterfly tote bag, a modern folkloric button mirror with a doe on it and a grey global color lace willow headband. The zipped pouch and the tote are made from a woven plastic and are not only very sturdy but very easy to keep clean because they are water resistant and if you get dirt on it all you need to do is wipe it off no washing machine needed. The tote bag is very large and would make an awesome beach/river/lake bag because the sand won't be a match for the materials this is made from, just wash it out and leave it to dry.

The coin purse is large enough to use as a makeup bag, small carry all or just a coin purse. It features two separate zippered sections where you can store your goods, the outside features a black and white fox along with the quote "Embrace the journey" this is a cute and fun coin purse that will always be easy to clean. The headband is quite lovely and well made, I love the color and find that it is comfortable to wear and doesn't pull my hair or sit too tightly on my head. The mirror is not only one of the sweetest designs I've seen on a pocket mirror but it also comes with a carry sleeve to keep the mirror protected and clean, the mirror has a fabric backing and the carry sleeve is made from felt.

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky winner will win the same gift set I received.

This is open to US Residents only! Starlight Wraps Review & Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Starlight Wraps for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

I generally don't wear a lot of jewelry I am very selective in what I will wear, but I've been wanting a bracelet for a while something that isn't too large, doesn't make noise and isn't going to catch on my clothing. While on my hunt for a new bracelet I found a company called Starlight Wraps who sells wrap bracelets in an assortment of colors. The company owner Rexann was kind enough to provide a little background on how her company came to be: " She is also the owner of a small clothing boutique in Estes Park, Colorado and in September of 2013 they were hit by a devastating flood and were virtually closed for almost 3 months.  She had always enjoyed jewelry design as a hobby prior, but with some extra time on her hands while the roads were being repaired in her city, she decided to create Starlight Wraps.  It has been a wonderful whirlwind for her since the beginning and she is so excited about the future of Starlight Wraps and hopes it continues to grow! Each piece in her collection is designed and handmade with great attention to detail.  Starlight Wraps is also dedicated to supporting various children's charities around the world by donating 20% of her net proceeds each year. They believe in striving to make a difference in the lives of children everywhere."

For my review I received a Stella wrap which is a gorgeous 3 Wrap Bracelet with black iridescent and dark purple beading. If you are indoors the purple beads appear more black but once you are out in the sunlight they shine a deep purple which looks quite beautiful. My bracelet arrived quickly and was sent in a cute draw string back which I will keep for future gifting. The bracelet seems like it could weight a bit however it feels almost weight less I sometimes forget I am wearing it, I typically don't sleep with it on because I don't want to risk it becoming lost in my sheets if it were to come off. Breakage wise I don't think it is likely it will break unless someone where to take a pair of scissors or a knife to your bracelet, My one and a half year old was trying his best to try and get the bracelet off my wrist and it didn't budge. It is easy to put on and take off with just one hand so you won't need anyone to assist you and it has three different lengths you can adjust it to depending on how tight you would like to wear it, I wear mine on the second loop. I have enjoyed working with Starlight Wraps and think you should head over to check out all of the beautiful wraps she has to offer.

Prize Alert:
One lucky winner will win the 5 wrap Cassiopeia, the retail value is $35 shown in the last image above.

eGardenStudio Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by eGardenStudio for the review free of charge.****

I live in an apartment that has two large windows in the living room which should let in quite a bit of light but instead there is a large tree that mostly covers both windows so we don't get as much light as we should which makes keeping plants alive in my apartment impossible. I have finally come into possession of an easy to care for indoor plant that won't die on me, I was recently sent an Air Plant in a Bubble from eGardenStudio a wonderful plant shop on etsy.

This air plant comes in a small glass orb vase with a diameter of about 3 inches, and three little feet at the bottom. The orb vase fits right into my hand and sits perfectly on my computer desk, as a bonus the opening of the vase is about the size of my finger tip which means my cat can't get into the vase to eat my plant as he is known to do. This plant is very low maintenance you simply need to spray it 1-2 times a week making sure there is no excess water hanging out in the vase, I have been turning mine upside down on a paper towel for a few minutes to make sure all the extra water if there is any drains out. It requires bright, indirect light, no direct sun is recommended. You can put them near a window at home, or put them in your office, since fluorescent office lighting also works well for them. Both the light watering and indirect light make this plant a perfect gift for someone who doesn't get a lot of light in their home or for an office to spruce it up a little. Looks wise I think this vase and small air plant are adorable it adds a little bit of nature into what ever space you place it in. The exact model I received retails for $16 plus shipping.

Shipping wise the package arrived fast and was securely packaged to keep the glass and plant from being ruined during shipping, since there was no dirt or rocks in the vase I didn't have to worry about there being loose soil/dirt in the box. eGardenStudio ships world wide, depending on where you live and how your postal service is it may take a few weeks to receive your plant in you are outside of the US. After taking care of this plant for the last two weeks and seeing that it is still healthy and very much alive I would 100% purchase more plants from eGardenStudio not only for my home but for my work desk and friends as well. All the prices are very reasonable and range depending on the plant, vase size and any extras that may come with it. Customer service is wonderful and they are always friendly. Want to check out everything they have to offer including their color moss? Head over to their shop to view what they have in stock.

Mortimer Snodgrass Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Mortimer Snodgrass for the review free of charge.****

I always love finding fun & unique products not only for myself but for gifting purposes, A company called Mortimer Snodgrass offers a wide selection of fun gift and gag items for all ages and even for the pets. I recently received the chance to receive a gift card to their online website for review purposes, there were a lot of neat products so it was hard to make a final decision. I finally decided on the Naughty Box & MimoMicro Drive- Chewbacca.

The Naughty box had a small collection of items from their Slightly Inappropriate line it had products such as the Cuss Cards a game where you get to translate swear words into other languages, Underwear Bandages, Maybe you touched yourself hand sanitizer & more. The box was on sale for $25 checking their website it looks like they are no longer carrying that box or the other similar boxes so I received mine just in time. Being shipped from Canada my packaged arrived within three weeks and was packaged well. How ever the only thing I didn't like was the check out process it may have just been for that day I am unsure as I wasn't told what the issue was, The checkout process has a page which should normally ask if you want your packaged shipped or if you wanted to pick it up in store. During my check out process there was no 'Shipping' option only a box for in store pick up which it wouldn't let me pass until I clicked it so I made a note about it and sent them an email to let them know. The website never said anything about a shipping cost and didn't have the shipping page so I was unsure until two days later I received an email saying that the shipping was almost $20. If you were buying from the site and had some technically issues like I had it would be a shock to find out how much shipping actually is/was so if I did it all over again I would have wanted that page fixed. Otherwise I enjoyed my experience with the website & they have a ton of fun and really cute items that I would love to own and would make great gifts. If you are in Canada and live near their store but have never been there I suggest checking it out.

Flatten Me Giveaway & Review

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others.Products were Provided by Flatten Me for the Review free of charge****

Growing up with a unique name I was always bummed out when I went to the "Name plate" section & knew I would never find my name, times have changed & you can get almost anything personalized now. Since my kids have unique names as well I enjoy getting them custom products with their names on them, so when I was offered a change to work with a company called Flatten Me on a review & giveaway I said yes right away.

For my review I received their "OWL Always Love You" hard cover book which can be customized with your child's name & a dedication page. Here is a little bit of information about the book from the Flatten Me website "Unlike traditional bedtime tales, the Owl Always Love You personalized storybook makes your child the star of the story by repeating his name in the narrative. Your little one will be drawn in by the beautiful illustrations of fuzzy (and sometimes silly) owls settling down for a good night’s sleep, and he/she will love the ethereal images of soaring kites and starlit skies."

I personally love this book the illustrations are simply beautiful they are whimsical yet life like at the same time, each page features an adorable fuzzy owl that goes with the theme for that page. My favorite page from the book says "Owl Always Love you "K" like the sun loves the moon. Owl Always Love you like a song loves a tune." I had a fun time reading this to my son and will continue to read it to him at bedtime, He is a bit young to fully understand the book aside from looking at pretty pictures but I know he will enjoy this book more as he gets older. Flatten Me also offers books that can be customized with photos, T-shirts, Wall art, Cards & Water bottles. The "OWL Always love you" book is $29.95 for paperback or $39.95 for hardcover plus S/H, I think these books would make great Birthday,Christmas or anytime gifts for the people you love most. If you would like to purchase a product from their website you can use the code "Owl_fall15" for 15% OFF your purchase, this code is good until October 15th,2013.

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky Burning Moon reader will win a copy of "OWL Always Love You", This giveaway is open to US & Canadian Residents only. The winner will need to pay S&H but the book is provided for free [Hard cover].
