Let's talk baby showers! When I get invited to baby showers I like to buy a combination of products from their baby registry (if they have one) and I also like picking up other great products they could use and put them together in a gift basket. Thinkbaby is a company that sells a number of baby and toddler friendly products that you can either buy separately or you can buy a gift set. Their gift sets make a great under $40 baby shower gift.

  

I received their baby care gift set that comes with an 8oz baby shampoo/body wash, a 8oz Baby lotion, a 8oz Bubble bath and a 3oz tube of SPF 50+ sunscreen. This set retails for $28.99 which can be purchased on their website or at a store near you, in my area their products are sold at CVS, Fry's, Hi-Health, and a few other shops. The products in this set are free of parabens, phthalates 1,4 dioxane,sodium lauryl sulfate and harmful chemicals. The shampoo, lotion and bubble bath all come in bottles and have pumps making it convenient to use while bathing your child, babies don't always like sitting still during bath time so the pumps help make bath time easier.

What are my thoughts on the products in this set? I really like how the Baby shampoo/Body wash smells has a tangerine scent to it that is light and airy (other have mention that it smells like orange sherbet to them) . The shampoo formula gets a great lather to it with just a small amount, you can use it on dry or wet skin and it doesn't leave the skin with a dry or oily feel. The Bubble bath has a bit of an odd scent in the bottle but once it gets put into the bath it is void of scent which is nice since some fragrances can irritate the skin and the formula used creates a lot of bubbles. I however do not like the lotion that comes in this set, I dislike the scent and it the lotion itself feels a little greasy. The Sunscreen has the same scent as the shampoo, the formula is a little thick so I suggest applying a little at a time so that it absorbs into the skin better. You will be able to see where the sunscreen is at which is nice because it helps you know where you still need to apply it. The sunscreen is water resistant for 80 minutes, it can be used on anyone and I can feel that it is working on my skin when I use it. Generally I don't like applying sunscreen to my face unless I know it won't leave my skin feeling nasty and this one makes it to where I can hardly tell it is there.

This gift set can be gifted either as is or you can take them out of their packaging and put them into a gift basket, it is great for including in a bath themed gift basket or just adding to any gift basket. Below is an example of a gift basket I put together for a friend of mine who's baby shower is coming up soon. She is doing the room Mickey themed, her bathroom is duck themed and she is having a girl so I put together several things for her that fit in with what she was wanting. As an added bonus the basket can be used to store diapers, or other products after the gifts have been removed.

Nuby Baby Spoon Reivew!

My son is growing up faster than I could have imagined, He is only five months old but he has never been in that "Newborn/Infant" stage. The first week of his life he was a sweet innocent infant then about a week after we arrived home everything changed he wanted to be independent. He has been growing fast both with height & weight he is also ahead of the game when it comes to getting around all over the living room,lifting himself up,standing & more which he has been doing since he was about three months old.

One of the things he Loves to do is eat, He loves trying new foods & will try to steal any food that you yourself are trying to eat. I am excited to share my experience with Feeding Spoons by Nuby. You might be thinking, "What's the big deal? All baby spoons are the same" that is where you would be wrong my friend. When my daughter was a baby I always hated her baby spoons they were too short & I disliked that the spoon itself was plastic covered but the handle was metal. The Feeding spoons are perfect they are long & all plastic, Each package comes in an assortment of colors. I am an odd ball but sometimes I like pairing the color of the spoon to the food that my son will be eating for that meal.

The spoons are easy for both myself & my son to hold onto, I enjoy the amount of food that can be held by this spoon because it creates the perfect bite for my son. Nuby Flip Flop Teether book Review

I am very excited to share this next review with all of you mommies out there who have children that are teething or will be teething soon. I was recently sent a Flip Flop Teether book by Nuby for a product review,This product is perfect for infants 0+ Months in age.

Nuby Brites pacifier review

 I have a ten week old son who is quite picky about his pacifier, It has been a challenge to find the "right" one which means a lot of pacifier Testing. The company Nuby makes & sells a number of pacifiers,being part of the Nuby Mommy Bloggers team I was recently sent a set of their "Brites Pacifier and Pacifinder"

"The Brites pacifier features a classic oval baglet with symmetrical shield design ensures that the pacifier always fits in your baby’s mouth. Nuby’s air system allows air to circulate between baby’s delicate skin & pacifier. The pacifiers come in various fun bright colors and designs!" I admit this doesn't replace his favorite pacifier but he does enjoy the shape & texture of this pacifier. I enjoy the fact that the pacifier is slightly curved fitting my sons mouth/cheek area better than most pacifiers would preventing him from getting milk caught there or leaving a red mark. The Brites come in an assortment of Bight colors & fun designs they also come with an included pacifinder which allows you to attach the pacifier to a stroller,a car seat or your child so if they drop the pacifier it won't end up on the ground. Out of the pacifier brands I have tried with my son I would rate this in the top five & would suggest this for parents who are having or have recently had a baby.

Nuby Funshine Mirror Toy Review

I am excited to be able to start buying my son toys he is now fully aware of his surroundings & stays awake longer during the day. Being a Nuby Mommy Blogger means I am able to review their wonderful toys & baby products with my son. My son is currently nine weeks old & being more active everyday so I have been looking around for age appropriate toys. I was recently sent a toy called the Funshine Mirror Toy which is perfect for ages 0+.

Here is the description from the Nuby website "This musical Funshine toy by Nûby is another innovative toy that combines exercises for young hands while providing visual and musical stimulation for your baby. By simply pressing the sun's textured nose, the character lights up and sings "You are My Sunshine." On the reverse, a mirror provides additional visual stimulation for your baby."

My son loves this toy,it helps keep him calm and happy while on long car rides. When you press the nose the two small lights on the cheeks start to flash while "You are My Sunshine plays,I like that the lights aren't bright enough to hurt his eyes. The bright colors of the sun shaped toy keeps his attention even when the sound & lights are off,the Mirror on the back makes the toy triple the fun. Once my son starts teething he will be able to chew on the "rays" on the sun if he chooses & I won't have to worry about one popping off because this is a very sturdy toy. The sun comes with a ribbon attached to a hook making it easy to hook onto the stroller,or car seat. The Funshine Mirror Toy can be purchased at Babies R US,Khols or Diapers.com. This is a toy I would highly suggest for anyone who has a infant looking for a reliable & stimulating toy,I wish I had this when my daughter was younger.

Nuby Tickle Toes Review

When you are a parent you are always on the look out for age appropriate toys your children might like. Before becoming a Nuby Mommy Blogger I wasn't aware they sold toys it was my understanding that they only sold. teethers and bottles/cups. Taking a look through their toy & teething toy collection I found that I loved everything they have to offer, I was recently sent a Tickle Toes Bear for a review.

"Hilariously funny, the Nuby Tickle Toes are soft, adorable and make the perfect playmate for your child. A gentle squeeze of the foot makes the character giggle and chuckle and is guaranteed to have you and your child do the same." When our bear arrived I am unsure exactly what I was expecting something that sounded similar to a animal sound made to sound like it was laughing? The bear has a bit of a high pitched child's laughter when you squeeze the foot,a little shocking at first but then you get used to it. The bear itself is very soft and perfectly for cuddling,since there are no hard parts he is great for kids of any age. My son is still a bit young to realize he needs to push the foot in order to hear the laughter but he enjoys having the bear next to him while he sleeps. Family Bedrock Review

I am always on the hunt for fun new baby products for my son who is due in Feb. On my search I happened to find a company called Family Bedrock who offers a fun range of baby items including Crazy Creatures Designs Bibs & Pacifiers.

For a recent review I was sent a Crocodile Pacifier & Flame Pacifier,I think these pacifiers are so much fun because they make your child appear to have Crocodile teeth,A clowns mouth/smile and more. They each have a unique and fun design which is sure to please the eye. Here is a little bit about the Pacifiers: "They are BPA and DEHP free!!, They have been been tested and meet strict USA, Australian and international standards. They are made from high quality food grade silicone,and come in three sizes (Newborn, 6-12 months, 12+ months) so there is something for everyone." I personally enjoy the shape and size of this Pacifier it is one of the better pacifiers I have seen or have owned. For a recent review I was sent The Daddy Diaper Pack, It comes in basic black & is the ultimate backpack for Dads with full straps and clips to lock it down, and to take it off quickly and easily.The custom design allows less fumbling through deep pockets and eliminates struggling to take off the pack while holding baby. The side pockets are great for water bottles, baby bottles, and sippy cups. There’s a big pouch for diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes (and of course a small one for the “dirty stuff”). Since our son isn't quite here yet my husband tested out this pack by carrying around some of his things for the week,He loves the pack & keeps finding new things he loves about the back pack. My husband enjoys that fact it is easy to put on & take off,it holds plenty of things & has a variety of pocket sizes so you can bring everything you need for baby. I also plan on using this when our little man comes because this is better than the diaper bag we had for our daughter it is much bigger & easier to find/access the items you are in need of. The bag costs a little bit more than I would pay for a pack but it is worth the price and is sure to last a long time,The pack retails for $69.95. Now that I am further along in my pregnancy [Due in Feb] my belly has gotten quite a bit bigger than it did when I had my daughter which has made most of my shirts "shrink" the bottom of my baby belly starts to pop out the bottom so I knew it was time to look for some new shirts. For a recent review I was sent a Pleated Long Sleeve Top in Black, I have to say I absolutely love this shirt it is my favorite Maternity shirt I have ever worn I like it a lot better than most of my normal every day shirts as well. The shirt has a silky feel to it & just feels great to wear the shirt is long enough that I can pull it down to just passed my butt & it stays in place because it has a stretchy spandex bottom that keeps the shirt in place. This is a breast feeding shirt & gives you easy access to feed your child,the only issue I have had is depending on how I lay down or sit on the cough I have an issue with my chest showing through the shirt because the opening comes open but I have a plan to fix this with a little bit of Velcro. The shirt has a retail price of $49 which is more than I would pay for a maternity/breast feeding shirt but having tested out this product I think it is worth the price because it is comfortable,fits well & looks great I have been wearing this shirt almost every night it is very comfy to sleep in. Dollar General Review

Quite a few of you many live near or have been to a Dollar General store,but did you know they have their own store brand diapers that are much cheaper compared to competitor prices? I was recently invited to review their new line of affordable diapers along with a coupon booklet.

Want to know how the prices compare? A pack of DG Baby Diapers - 86ct costs $13 while a pack of Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers - 86ct costs $19.65 Saving you almost $7 on a pack of diapers you could buy you extra wipes or other needed baby items with the money you would save. Yes the price is great but how do they stand up to name brands such as Huggies? Since my son hasn't arrived yet and my daughter doesn't use diapers I tested this diaper out by holding it under a running faucet to see how much water it could hold, Surprisingly it held together better than I thought like many others I was a little wary of how the dollar generals diapers would hold,but they held a large amount of water without any leaks or tearing of the diaper. Once I poured out the excess water I poured into the diaper I shook it above the sink to see if it would leak/drip it has a drip or two come off but over all the diaper held the moisture, My husband suggested that I try to "rip" the diaper when wet to see if it would fall apart from them running around,getting changed ect but I was unable to tear the diaper in two. I think these diapers are wonderful & the prices are even better design wise the diapers have pictures of adorable baby animals which would make any child smile, If you haven't been to a Dollar General yet I suggest heading to their website to see if there is one near you, You never know what you might find by visiting the store.****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used.
