Story Magic Dress-Up Set Review + Giveaway!

Over the last year kids have been stuck inside more than normal which means parents are having to find more ways to keep their kids entertained. Horizon Group USA sells a wide assortment of craft sets and activities that are designed to help keep your kids focused and entertained while completing the project. Some of their products such as the one I am going to feature today can be used more than once, which is great for those of us who like to get the most out of purchase.

The Story Magic Dress-up dolls travel play set is perfect for children age 4+ everything comes in a tin so you can play with this at home or on the go. Each set comes with three different magnetic girls your child can dress up and create stories with inside of the tin. There is also a bonus doll friend inside of the tin, however she is printed onto the picture itself and can't be removed however you can place one of the other girls over her if you prefer.

Along with the three dolls you will also find an assortment of clothing and a small friendship book that comes with the set. I like the assortment that was included in the set, it ranges from princess accessories to superhero and astronauts so your child will be able to come up with a number of stories and fantasy scenes.  

The dolls and accessories are a decent size, however I wouldn't give this to anyone younger than four as some of the pieces would be easy to swallow. I like that the storage tin it comes with is magnetic, however if you are on the go you might notice that there are only two compartments inside of the tin. So to help prevent yourself a loss of magnets while allowing your child plenty of play space inside of the tin I highly recommend keeping your loose magnetic pieces in a small baggie inside of this tin to make play time easier. 

All of the magnets came off of their original magnetic sheets without any issue, sometimes with sets like these if you aren't careful you might rip one of the pieces in half. Over all this is a pretty great travel set, perfect for road trips. This set typically sells for $12.99 and can be purchased from a number of retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and more.

Colorfoldz keeping you entertained on the go!

When we travel or I know we are going somewhere that we'll have a long wait I like to make sure my kids bring a few things to do to keep them entertained. I don't always like them having just electronics so finding alternatives that are easy to take on the go always makes me happy. Colorfoldz is a product I found recently that is perfect for use at home and on the go.

Each Colorfoldz product will let you create one specific image design and has several foldz or layers to trace that will help you achieve the image shown on the front. Each image has a different number of foldz depending on the amount of details that go with the image.

All of the stencil sets come with ten sheets of paper already attached, when you run out you can either purchase refill papers (10 sheets for $0.99) or you can purchase a notebook and use the stencil foldz with that.



My kids were eager to sit down and color with these so for the review I did a quick color in of the Fairy stencil we were sent, it has three different folds to fill in and each one is numbered so you know which to use first. If you are slightly confused on which parts are which you can check the front image as a guide. The stencils are fun and easy to use, you can either trace just the image outline and color it in after everything is traced or you can shade it in as you go. I forgot to fill in a few details on the last stencil but I didn't notice until after I took photos, there should be some added details to the wings and the mushroom however you don't have to copy them down if you'd like them plain or want to add your own custom design. It is fun to add stickers to each photo as well that go with the sketches.

How much are the Colorfoldz? The three folds are $7.99 and the five folds are $9.99, they also sell extra papers, pens, pencils, markers and more to give you an even better experience. You could also use these stencils along with fabric markers to create shirts, bags and more! My kids had a blast with the stencils, they had them out and had doodles all over the living room until I asked them to straighten up their papers a bit. I had fun with the stencil sets as well and these will be added to our "to-do" and vacation lists of things to bring.
