Playing With Fire - Spoiler Free Movie Review!
I am always up to go see a new family friendly comedy, so when we were invited to see an early showing of the movie "Playing With Fire" we couldn't refuse. The preview for this movie is pretty cute, and the cast has several people I recognize which made me want to see the film. The lead cast is John Cena, John Leguizamo and Keegan-Micheal Key plus it also features Judy Greer.
The premise of this movie is that a fire superintendent (John Cena) and is crew rescue three siblings from their burning home, dealing with fires is almost an everyday thing for them, but what they were not prepared for was babysitting! As you can imagine it leads to a bit of a crazy adventure.
My thoughts on this movie:
The film starts off with an action packed scene as you watch the crew work to stop a fire from spreading, which gives you a good look at what they do on a daily basis and how they work as a crew together. There is a laugh or two prior to the children being rescued, but the real laughs start once the children and crew are together at the depot.
I thought all three of the kids they cast did a fantastic job, and I didn't realize the entire time I was watching the film that the oldest girl plays an X-men in Deadpool! She looks so different. Both of the younger children do quite a few silly and hilarious things during the movie some of which give you that "Oh no!" laugh seeing someone stuck in a situation, that you know you wouldn't want to be stuck in. There was a scene or two that seemed a bit cheesy, but I think most movies have parts that are like that. A little romance and heart felt scenes are also thrown in along with the comedy which helped give the film a wholesome feel. I personally don't re-call seeing anything that stood out to me as being non-child friendly, or anything that made me upset, it is definitely a film we all want to watch again.
As you can see there is an adorable dog in the promo as well! The kids really loved seeing her on the screen, she stole the screen along with one of the other crew members (Axe) that the kids talked about all afternoon after seeing the movie. It is hard to pick a favorite character or scene in the movie because there are so many great scenes, you can't pick just one! This movie is great for families or even just to watch by yourself. You'll be laughing the entire time and you will feel connected with the characters by the end. My husband sadly didn't attend with us as he had a project to work on, but after I told him about the movie and the kids excitedly told him about the movie as well, we plan on buying it once it comes out.

My Thoughts on "Second Act"
**This is not a sponsored post, through another blogger I was able to
attend an early showing of this movie and wanted to share my opinions on
the movie.**
December was a bit crazy, my son and I were both sick for what seemed like the whole month and I kept busy with holiday related activities. During that time I was able to attend an early showing event for the movie Second Act featuring Jennifer Lopez,Vanessa Hudgens and Milo Ventimiglia. I was even able to get a few Second Act goodies before the show! I will be putting together a little swag giveaway soon with some of these items plus other items from events so be on the look for that soon.
What is the premise of the movie? Here is a short description of it "Value Shop assistant manager Maya Vargas wants only one thing for her 43rd birthday -- a promotion. While her résumé may not scream upper management, her track record certainly does. Vargas is an innovator who listens to her customers and delivers results. When she loses the job to a college-educated candidate, Maya sets out to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts -- and it's never too late for a second act."
I've seen several ad's promoting this as a Romantic flick however after seeing the movie I would not put it in the "romance" section, heart warming yes but not romantic. For the ladies wanting to see this movie mainly for Milo Ventimiglia I am sorry to say he doesn't have a lot of screen time in the movie, in total I'd say he is in it for less than ten minutes (even her boss has more screen time). Aside from it not being romantic I thought it was a pretty decent movie, it gave quite a few laughs and her journey is pretty heart warming at the end. I really enjoy Vanessa Hudgens in "The Princess Switch" so I was happy to see her in this movie as well, I thought she played her character well. Jennifer Lopez did a great job as well and she looks amazing as always! Both actresses did a great job but for me I think Leah Remini stole the show for me because her character would fit in perfectly with the "Bad Moms" characters and I love both the Bad Moms movies.
There may be a few spoilers in this next part! Maya (Jennifer Lopez) goes from being a assistant manager at her local grocery store to working at a big time company after her god son creates an over the top resume for her none of which is true. Though she works hard to prove herself and goes along with the fibs with quite a bit of help along the way, she ends up learning no lasting relationship can be started off with a lie and ends up having to make a big choice towards the end of the movie. She grows a lot as a person during that time and everything works out in the end (wouldn't be a happy movie if it didn't!). If you are a fan of Jennifer Lopez or Vanessa Hudgens and are looking for a good movie that will make you laugh this is a great movie to check out, but if you are looking strictly for a romance movie I'd look elsewhere.

The Grinch Movie Review!
**This is not a sponsored post, through another blogger I was able to
attend an early showing of this movie and wanted to share my opinions on
the movie.**
The Grinch is a holiday classic that many both young and old have grown to love since the book originally came out in 1957 (Holy cow! 61 years ago), this year the Grinch has been re-imagined by Illumination and Universal Picture. The main three voices in this film are voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch as the Grinch, Rashida Jones as Donna Lou Who and Cameron Seelyas Cindy Lou Who.
You might be thinking if it has been re-imagined how is it still the Grinch? The basic plot of the story was kept, it is still the story about how a grumpy old Grinch had a heart two sizes two small and how he came to love Christmas instead of hate it. The new changes are intertwined quite well with the classic, so what should you expect? Expect new characters you will surely love, new tweaks to the story such as Cindy Lou being raised by just her mother and the Grinch having a reindeer friend as shown in the previews.
What are our thoughts? Prior to the movie I had only seen one short preview so I wasn't sure what to expect, I thought it would just be the same story just with updated graphics but I was wrong. The kids and I really enjoyed the additional characters, story line and background on why the Grinch is how he is, that they provided during the film. They managed to give the movie a more present day feel while keeping the traditional story and film in tact, it is a bit difficult to fully describe but you'll understand once you see the movie. I always felt bad for Max because the Grinch seemed to make him do so much, and though I still feel bad for him this movie helps show how much the Grinch actually does care for his pup. I also really loved the flash backs to when the Grinch was a kid not because of the story but because he was so adorable!
We all enjoyed plenty of laughs, excitement and joy while watching this and we look forward to adding it to our yearly Christmas movie list. This movie is worth watching, I suggest heading to see it in theaters as a special holiday treat. The Grinch will be released on Friday November 9th,2018.

Small Foot Movie Review!
**This is not a sponsored post, through another blogger I was able to attend an early showing of this movie and wanted to share my opinions on the movie.**
You may have seen a recent movie preview for Small Foot which comes out this Friday September 28th. The cast is composed of several familiar voices such as Channing Tatum & Zendaya. As you can tell from the preview the movie is set in a Yeti village which I think is a fun take on the traditional story of a human stumbling on a rare Yeti/Sasquatch/Abdominal Snowman.
This movie gave us a lot of good laughs and it had a pretty great story from start to finish, my youngest can get a bit bored when watching a movie and starts to become restless but Small Foot kept all of us entertained the entire time. A lot of kids movies have a scene or two that parents may not completely approve of whether it is a dirty adult joke or the use of a bad word, however I didn't notice any of this during Small Foot and neither did my mom who attended the movie with the kids and I. The only thing I could think of that may bother someone is the Yeti's thinking they fell out of a Yaks butt or making a joke about "crap" due to a roll of toilet paper though I think both lines are harmless.
Small Foot is packed with a strong character base that everyone is sure to enjoy and connect with. There is a bit of singing through out the movie which my daughter said she found annoying however I think that was due to the fact that for about fifteen to twenty minutes before the start of the movie they had played the songs over and over again otherwise I don't think she would have minded as much. I thought the songs were cute and well sung, one of the main songs was even done by Zendaya herself! The graphics were wonderful, I love how they created each Yeti you could really see all of the detail that went into everything.
I don't want to give away too much of the story line so the movie isn't ruined for you but I will say this is a movie worth seeing in the theaters, my kids are already asking if we can go see it again. If you want to print some coloring pages ahead of seeing the movie or if you want to hear some of the sound track for the movie you can check out the Small Foot website which has a lot of fun and free stuff.
