FabFitFun Starter Box #30 Review

I've both seen and heard several people talking about the FabFitFun subscription in the past, and reviews seem to be mixed on it. I was recently sent a Starter box code from a friend of a friend so I could get one of their trial boxes and see if I liked the subscription or not. If you are unsure what a starter box is, it is a one time code you can use for a Free sample FabFitFun box, however you do need to pay shipping which is $5.

This post isn't sponsored by FFF, I personally purchased this starter box and just wanted to share what was in it with everyone. Box #30 is their newest batch of starter boxes that are currently being shipped out.

FabFitFun Starter Box #30

The starter boxes contain items they have an overstock of from previous subscription boxes, it is a way for them to get rid of some extra stock while also making a little cash back and possibly gaining some new subscribers. Each box contains four items from previous boxes, and boxes can vary. They usually do the boxes in batches and you can usually find spoilers online if you want to see what you are getting ahead of time. How do you know which starter box you are getting? When you are sent your tracking number you will see a spot that shows the items in the shipment, the last three digits of the item code will tell you which box you are receiving, in my case I received Starter box #30.

Let's get into what is in the box! In total it shows the value of this box is $133 which is amazing considering it was only $5 to purchase.

Tarte SEA drink of H20 hydrating boost moisturizer (Retail $39) - I actually have one of these in my makeup drawer that I use as part of my weekly skincare, it is a great product and it has a nice light scent to it. This product packaging is a bit different from the one I have, however I don't believe there is any difference between the two. A little goes a long way with this product so I will most likely be giving this away in one of my next two monthly Beauty & The Book Giveaways so keep an eye out for that.

Summer & Rose Celine Crossbody bag (Retail $58) - This is the item that adds the most value to this starter box. It is a vegan leather crossbody bag that is silver in color. I am personally not a person who is big into hand bags, I have a favorite that I use so I wasn't really excited about this product since it doesn't fit my style. This will be another item I will include in an upcoming Beauty & The Book giveaway.

MakeUp Eraser (Retail $20) - I was pretty excited about finding this product in my starter box, I've heard a lot of great things about this brand. I have been wanting to test this out and even ordered a mini sample sized version of this from their website, however it never arrived so now I have a chance to test it out.

Nails Inc. Thirsty hands mask duo (Retail $16) - This is another product I am familiar with, my daughter and I tested these out a month or two ago because I wanted to see how well they worked. They do help your hands feel more moisturized for about a day, otherwise they don't really last longer than that. They are fun to use, and they smell pretty amazing with a floral rose scent plus your hands will feel silky smooth for several hours after use. It is best to use these before bedtime.

I was very happy with this starter box, now the question is would I purchase a full sized box for $49.99? For me I am leaning more towards a no, they do offer several great beauty items in each box but the boxes also often come with a lot of random accessories and household goods, many of which don't really fit my style or are items I wouldn't be able to use. For example many of the boxes come with scarves, purses, water bottles, and other items. For many this subscription box is perfect, but for me I will stick with more beauty/makeup focused boxes.

Have you ever received a FFF Starter or full sized box? What was your favorite or least favorite product from the box? and what type of subscription boxes do you usually like?
