Wild In Africa - bracelet Giveaway!

From the earliest memory I can re-call, I have always loved animals. I was the type of kid who was always rescuing birds that fell out of trees, bringing home stray alley cats or lost puppies to find their owners. Both of my cats are rescues, one of them we adopted from a rescue and the other we rescued ourselves when she was found on a construction site. I still enjoy helping animals in anyway I an so when I found out about Wild In Africa, I knew I had to share them with my readers.

Wild In Africa is a jewelry line started by a woman named Shannon Wild, in 2013 she moved to Africa to peruse a dream of making wildlife documentaries. Sadly, she fell ill and needed to be hospitalized for several months. During that time she needed an outlet to help her gain her strength back and stay active, which is why she started to re-design some of the bracelets she collected during her travels and shortly after that her jewelry line was born. She is still making jewelry to this day, and she has made it a mission to donate a portion of her charity line to charities she has worked with and knows makes a different. She donates 50% of the profits from the charity line! How amazing is that?

So not only are you purchasing beautiful hand crafted jewelry, you are also helping out a number of Wildlife conservations/Charities which directly benefits hundreds of animals. At the moment there are eleven different charities to select from an support all with their own uniquely designed bracelet.

You can purchase a single bracelet or opt for a stack which has anywhere from three to six bracelets. I received one of their Down to Earth stacks to use to review and host a giveaway, I will be splitting them up so that there will be more than one winner who is able to enjoy these beautiful bracelets. I am going to show you each of them by themselves with a bit of information and you can enter the giveaway down below. The stack can be purchased for $99 which breaks down to $33 per bracelet.

Bracelet #1 is made with Red Jasper which is a lovely red stone that has flecks of gray through out it. The stone is believed to help increase your motivation, and energy along with a sense of stability. It also has an adorable little honeycomb charm. This one isn't up for grabs in the giveaway as my twelve year old daughter claimed this one as hers.

Bracelet #2 is a gorgeous African Jade bracelet with a small metal charm stamped "SW". The green of this bracelet is gorgeous in natural lighting. This specific stone is believed to be for general healing and also help with your relaxation.

Bracelet #3 is made with African Turquoise, it has a small metal charm stamped "SW" and it also features two small metal charms that kind of remind me of suns. This stone is known as the "Stone of Evolution" and it believed to bring encouragement for growth, development, and positive change within yourself.

Every purchase arrives inside of a jewelry bag and comes with a mini pamphlet that has some information and stickers! I was sent two jewelry bags and sets of stickers so both winners will each receive one with their bracelet. The bracelets are light weight, and they are strung onto an elastic band to make it fit any wrist size. Additionally all of their packaging is eco-friendly and able to be recycled, plus your purchase comes with a one year replacement warranty just in case anything does happen to one.

The UPside Delivered Giveaway + Review.

The last year has been hard on many of us, being stuck inside for long periods of time can be draining. It has been difficult on adults, but it can be even harder on young children who may not understand why we've been spending more time indoors instead of out at the park, etc. I recently found a fantastic company that was helpful before Covid, but I feel like their boxes make an even bigger impact now.

The UPside Delivered is a subscription company that was the brain child of two counselors (Jenna & Kristin) who wanted to provided families with an additional set of recourses to help their children deal with stress and their emotions. Each box has a number of tools in it to help provided some stress management, tools for working with your child and information on everything provided in the box.

I was recently sent The Begin Box along with a Story of Tomorrow book and a set of Fox Feeling cards to review. I am pretty excited to share this review with you as we are all pretty impressed with this box, plus there will be a bonus giveaway at the end.

Before I get to the Begin Box, I am going to share the card set and book with you first. Let's start with "The Story of Tomorrow", this is a spiral notebook that has a calming cover that features a field of purple flowers in the forest.

This book was written and designed by Kristen who created it to help her own daughter who was dealing with anticipatory anxiety. We've all had the days when we are worried about what the following day will bring, maybe we have a big event coming up or will be doing something new and we aren't sure how it will play out. Writing in this book can help alleviate some of the worries about how your day will go, as it allows you to take a few moments to write a bit about how your day went and the main events you'll do the next day, some of the examples they give are "Tomorrow my day will start with getting up, getting dressed an having breakfast". I think this is a creative way to help your kids deal with anticipatory anxiety in an easy to understand process. You can purchase this journal for $12.99, I counted fifty nine "Tomorrows" so the journal will last you for two months.

Next up is the Clever Coping Cards, these are perfect for at home and I believe they would fit in quite well in a classroom setting. To use these cards you'll look through the stack to find your current feeling and look on the back where it will give you a number of activates you can do that relate to that feeling. Each card has four different activates or things you can do, I will give you an example of a positive feeling that makes us feel great and one that makes us kind of sad.

Feeling Loved; You can give a hug, write or draw a poem, smile or share the love by doing something nice for someone.

Feeling Frustrated; You can ask for help or a hug, take 5 deep breaths, Play & Squeeze clay or play-doh, blow bubbles real slow.

In total there are fourteen different emotions listed on these cards and each one features an adorable fox expressing that emotion. I enjoy these cards, they are easy to access and each suggested activity is easy to do and doesn't cost anything to complete. As mentioned before I think these are great for using at home with your own children, but I can also see them fitting into a pre-school or kindergarten setting quite nicely as well since teachers often have to deal with a wide arrange of emotions from their students. Each card set can be purchased for $12.99 and the cards come on a metal key ring to make them easier to keep together and flip through.

Now we can move onto the Begin Box. I want to first state that this box isn't just for children, it can be a lot of fun for adults as well! My box had seven different products in it, each of which has it's own reason for being in the box. As you can see above the inside of the begin box has a small chart with a blurb of info on each item and why/how it is helpful.

Inside of the box I found a post card which has lesson one on it, lesson one states "Begin to understand the connection between thoughts, feelings and actions". The goal of this lesson is to help you understand that changing the way you think about a situation, helps change how you feel and one of the examples it includes is if your child states "I'm going to fail my test tomorrow" they could be feeling stressed, upset or worried about the situation so to help chance their mind set you can get them to think |"I'm going to remember this is only one test" or "I will study what I can tonight and then do my best".

This is actually something we work on with our kids, yes we try to help them strive for good grades but we also let them know that it isn't the end of the world if they don't get perfect marks on everything. We help them study, answer questions they might have and offer help when needed along with assuring them that they did their best which has been a huge help.

Now we can dive into the tools they provided to help ease stress, anxiousness and more. Inside of our box we found a mini thinking putty, the color provided is gorgeous and this putty is just the right consistency that it isn't sticky or droppy like slime, instead it is a little more like play-doh to where you can shape it and pull it without making a mess. A brain shaped stress ball is perfect for if you are feeling overwhelmed or upset, squeezing it helps take your mind off of what it is that is bugging you and helps to calm you.

The scratch art is quite useful as well, being able to just doodle or write something out and seeing the various colors is a great way to help change your mood. The bubble brand they included in this is pretty great, it produces a lot of bubbles and the formula they use doesn't pop right away so you can watch them float all the way to the ground before they pop, and if you blow them over carpet they make kind of a funny sound when they pop.

A journal called "Begin to think aloud" is included in the box as a way to help both adults and children understand the connection between their thoughts and feelings. It allows plenty of space to write and even doodle if you'd like. The two items in our box that we have used the most and will get the most use out of are the Budda Board and the flow rings. When I had first pulled the flow rings out of the box, I thought it was a set of metal bracelets to play with, so I was quite surprised when they sprang open into a neat looking sphere. Reading the blurb they provided we tested out using them on our arms, once you flatted the rings back out again you can put them on your upper arm and allow them to open onto your arm which then makes it to where they roll up and down your arm. This is quite interesting to watch it is also very calming. I took the flow rings with us over to my mothers house when we went for dinner and it had all four of us adults just standing there watching it, because it is both fun to play with and see. The Budda Board is also a lot of fun to use because you use water to paint, and then it will dry and you can keep creating over and over again. A begin box can be purchased for $49.99 plus $11 shipping, and you can purchase some of the box items by themselves such as the flow rings and budda board if you want an extra one. Four of the items in this box (stress brain, putty, flow rings and budda board) can be used over and over again.

PRIZE ALERT: One lucky winner is going to receive their own copy of "The Story of Tomorrow" and a set of coping cards.

This is open to US Residents only! Please remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your mandatory entry into the giveaway then all of your entries will be void. Horizon Group USA Review.

We recently received a surprise in the mail and it ended up giving us a good laugh because my daughter had been asking for one the week before it arrived. I received a package from Horizon Group USA that contained two products, one of them was a plasma globe. A few days before this had arrived I was actually looking one at a store I stopped at, but didn't end up buying it because the box felt way too light to have a full plasma ball in it, and then this showed up on my porch.

The size of this is perfect for a bed side table or a computer desk, there is nothing to put together because it comes in one piece and it has bonus glow in the dark stickers to decorate the base of the globes. This is so neat to watch turn on, it usually takes it a second or two but then it is bursting with light.

This plasma globe looks neat in the light but it is even better turning off the lights! You can use just one finger to trace the globe and watch the light chase your finger, or you can use all of your fingers and pretend like you are Thor himself.

This is plugged into the wall so you don't need to worry about batteries which is always nice. Both of of my children have a lot of fun watching this and playing with it. A plasma globe would make a fun gift for any boy or girl in your life!

The second item included in the package was a Mixy Squish lap desk. This kit comes with ten different colors of air dry clay, fourteen sculpting tools and a lap desk that has various molds for you to use.

This was a blast for my kids to use as well, however I did notice that if you didn't use all of one color that it dried up faster than expected even being inside of a sealed baggie. My kids made a lot of cute things with this set though included a purple set of dice that they made by hand.

The clay is easy to use, you can use it with the molds or you can free hand a creation of your choosing. Once your master piece dries it is fairly sturdy, I think it would be really cute to use this clay to create an assortment of fridge magnets. Each of the clays have speckles of glitter sprinkled within the clay to add a little extra flare to your artwork.

The lap desk doubles as a storage container for the clay and all of your sculpting tools, plus the lid also has several different textured areas to give your clay the same look. While both products are entertaining, I think in the long run we will get the most use out of the plasma globe.

Which of the two products is most interesting to you? What would you want to create with your air dry clay?

HoKENA LED safety flare Reivew + Giveaway!

Are you prepared for accidents to happen while driving in your vehicle? If you were to get hit, break down or have a tire pop while driving at night the last thing you'd want is for someone to end up hitting you because they didn't see your car pulled over onto the side of the road. Some roadside assistance kits come with road flairs, but they are generally a one time use item.

I recently found out about a company called HoKENA, who produces LED flares that last a lifetime. It isn't just the flare that sets this company apart, but also the amount of care and thought that goes into each package. They sell their flares in a set of three for $34.99 and they arrive in a bright orange carrying case or if three flares isn't enough they also sell them in a five pack. As you can see the carrying case is significantly smaller than the box it is package in, why is that?

The three flares aren't the only thing you receive when you purchase this safety set. They also include a whistle, two screw drivers to make changing the batteries a breeze, two emergency thermal blankets and a window breaker/seat belt cutter. Every item in this pack is extremely helpful in a emergency situation and can be used for non-car type emergencies as well.

Each flare is slightly larger than the palm of your hand and the design allows for a comfortable hold on the light when turning it on/off. You can place these on the ground around your car or you can use it's other two nifty features. The first is that it is magnetic and will stick to the side of your car, removing it is easy and it won't ruing the paint on your car. The second option is it has a plastic hook on the back of the flares that can be popped up so you can hang it on a branch, or even in your tent if you are camping because it has a solid white light that can be used as a flashlight. They are also water proof and will float in water so they are great to have on your boat as well.

The flares have nine different light modes, some of them blink in different patterns while others are solid. The mode that I thought was pretty neat is the Morse code setting that blinks out a SOS code. These are battery operated and each mode has it's own specific run time for if you were to leave it on, the longest is the solid red on low which will last for 35 hours! In most cases you'll only need these for less than 4-6 hours while you wait for a tow truck, fix a flat tire, etc. I like how compact they are because it doesn't take up a lot of space in my trunk or in my car if I prefer to have them up front. Looking at them you might think they are heavy, but they are actually pretty light weight so you can take them camping or hiking without them weighing you down..

The lights are BRIGHT, they are meant to be seen from a long distance away. I will be uploading a short reel on my IG page showing the lights and some of their settings if you are interested in checking that out. I am a big fan of these flares, My husband and I always like being prepared and these grabbed my attention due to being re-usable. The bright orange they used for these products is also an eye catcher and will help you know where your tools are at all times.

The bonus safety items that came in this are pretty useful as well. It came with a tool that is specifically made to help you escape your car if you were to become trapped due to an accident. One end has a window breaker, this is extremely helpful if your door becomes stuck shut because then you'll still have a way out and the other end has a very sharp blade designed cut cutting your seat belt off if it won't come unlatched on it's own. The tool came with a black holder which can be mounted inside of your car, and it is compact enough you can even stash it under your dashboard.

Additionally there are two emergency thermal blankets that will help keep you warm/dry, a whistle that can be used to signal for help and two small screwdrivers to change the batteries on the flares or for another job you might need. The flares come with batteries so you won't need to worry about buying the first set. I need to pick another set of these up to have in my husbands car. If these LED flares sound like something you'd like to have in your emergency kit as well, head over to check out their website and also enter below to win a three pack.

PRIZE ALERT: One lucky winner is going to receive a  three set of LED safety flares.

Cat Lady Box Review!

My cats are like my kids, I like to randomly pick up a toy or a fun treat for them when I am at the store so when I found out about the Cat Lady Box, it sounded like something I had to check out. There are plenty of subscription boxes out there that are either for a human or specifically for a pet, what sets this subscription apart is it is for both! Each month you'll receive a few adorable cat themed gifts for yourself plus a few toys or treats for your cats.

I managed to get the box open and remove one item from it before Bones came over and wanted to check out what I was doing. She spotted the small stuffed penguin and went right for it! It made me laugh when I saw the penguin inside of the box because she actually has another small stuffed animal she stole from one of my kids that is a penguin as well.

There are two different subscription options you can select from, the first is the CRAZY Cat Lady box which is the box I described above it comes with 3-4 items for yourself and two items for your cat OR the second option is a Cat Lady box which has 3-4 products just for you (nothing for your cats). A Crazy box is $39.99 a month and the Cat Lady box is $34.99 a month. You can purchase a single box or you can let it renew every month and keep getting purrfect cat themed items.

So what was in the January box and was it worth the $40 price tag? Let's get into the details of what was in the box:

Brilliant Cat Glasses (Retail Value $29.99) - This was a cute set of two glasses that feature cat faces and a star pattern. They kind of remind me of whisky glasses due to their size and shape, they are great for really any type of drink. I think these would be perfect for when we have cookies and milk! The design is cute and they seem to be pretty sturdy, they are easy to wash and they dry quickly.

Mew Year 2021 Shirt (Retail Value $19.99) - How cute is the design on this shirt! It is a great way to welcome the new year and show off your love for kitties at the same time. The shirt fits well and it is quite comfortable, I think this will be a shirt I will end up wearing often. I like that it didn't have a funky smell when it arrived, I always hate ordering shirts online and they show up smelling like hot plastic.

Fluffy Snowball Cat Pen (Retail Value $5.99) - Pens are one of the office supplies I have the most of, I always like getting new pens and I have them literally all over my house because you never know when you might need a pen. This pen is great for a child or an adult, it adds a little extra pizzazz to your office supplies.

Petie the Penguin Catnip Toy (Retail $5.99) - When Bones had first come over and tried taking off with this I thought it was because it reminded her of her other toy, or because she loved stuffed animals. I didn't realize at the time it was a catnip toy, but now I can see why she was so excited about it. Along with being just the right size for your cat to drag around the house, the flippers have some crinkle paper in them so they make noise when your cat is playing with it. This is well made and feels like it will last for quite some time especially since Bones never tears her toys apart, she just likes flinging them around and hiding them various places.

Flurry Snowballs Cat Toy (Retail Value $6.99) - Another great cat toy! Both of my cats enjoy chasing this around the house, and the kids love it because it is one of the only types of toys both cats love playing with. The kids can be a little rough on this type of cat toy because the strings that attach the toys to the stick are usually pretty thin, but I have a feeling this toy will last a lot longer than the others.

Cardboard Box (Priceless) - If your cats are anything like mine then the box itself is a present to them, because of the catnip being inside of the penguin my big cat went nuts rolling around in the box and having fun jumping in and out  of it.

The box also came with a post card that features a Cat Lady Artist, and a Cat Lady sticker! I may be more inclined to like this particular kitty postcard because it kind of looks like my cat Aleister. So as you can see the total retail value of the box is $68.95 which is almost double the price you paid for the box. I personally loved all of the items that came in this box and so did my cats so it was a win-win situation for me.

I think that this is over all a fantastic idea for a subscription box, What animal owner doesn't like buying special treats for your pet? And as a bonus you get gifts too, heck yes! This time around I also took some clips of my cats helping me do an unboxing of this and I will be uploading a few clips into one or two reels over on my Instagram page.

😻 What do you think of this subscription box? Do you have any pets, if you do leave me a comment letting me know what type of pets you have.

My name is Luna, I am a mother to two children and two fur babies, I am married, and I work full time along with blogging and doing various hobbies.I am a gamer/geek and I write product reviews, host giveaways, and write posts about everyday life such as traveling, craft ideas and more.

Each month I try to host a monthly "Beauty & The Book Giveaway" which is where I will give away a copy of a book along with a number of beauty or skincare goods. The name was inspired by three of the things I love; Makeup, Books and Disney's Beauty & The Beast. If you haven't entered the January giveaway there is still time to enter that as well (ends 02/10) and you can enter by visiting the post HERE. This year I will be working on brining you more fun and exciting content, so please follow my social media pages your support is appreciated!

However I know you didn't come to this post looking for a long drawn out story, so let's get down to business (to defeat the Huns! 😄 sorry I had to, I listened to a metal version of the song yesterday and it has been stuck in my head.).

This month's book is called "This Adventure Ends", I can be drawn to book covers especially if it has something fantasy related or has my favorite color (blue) which is why I was drawn to this first. However after reading the blub and seeing lots of great reviews for this book I decided to pick it up for this month's giveaway. This book is about a girl and her group of friends, here is a short description from the summary "Filled with intense and important friendships, a wonderful warts-and-all family, shiveringly good romantic developments, and sharp, witty dialogue, this story is about finding the people you never knew you needed."

Included in this month's giveaway is the makeup bag featured in the December 2020 Ipsy, it is fluffy, light pink and has a maroon zipper. The makeup items in this month's bundle include a Wet 'N Wild makeup brush, E.L.F Highlighter pearl paint , Bolero face mask, Better Not Younger samples, Vasanti Matte crush lipstick crayon in Berry, a Oryza quad eyeshadow palette and a Urban Decay eyeshadow single.

Also included in this giveaway is a bath set  in the scent "Bloom" which is very similar to Cherry Blossom. I personally love this set! I found these in the clearance area earlier this month and I ended up buying five of them, I bought two to keep and three to gift so one of you will be getting one as well. It has a body wash, body lotion, a small adorable candle and a gold bath bomb. The smell is fantastic, I wish the candle was larger.

As you can see I went with a theme of purple/pink/gold to suit the Valentines vibe for the month. This giveaway is not affiliated with any of the brands mentioned above, I buy and ship all of the products for this giveaway which is why I appreciate your love and support on my pages 💗

This is open World Wide! Please remember if you DO NOT leave a comment on this blog post as your mandatory entry into the giveaway then all of your entries will be void. Doing the Daily entries will increase your chance of winning. Winners have 72 hours to respond to the notification email! January 2021 Ipsy Review - A happy whoops!

If you haven't ordered an Ipsy bag before, Ipsy is a monthly makeup subscription that sends you an assortment of goods based upon a survey you take. They have a $12 option that comes with a makeup bag and five sample/deluxe sample products, and a bigger bag that comes with full sized items.

From time to time I like to get a Ipsy bag just to see what I might end up with, it is a great way to find new products to try and also a great way to add products to my monthly Beauty & The Book Giveaways. I meant to cancel my subscription for the time being until I can use some of the samples I already have on hand, however I forgot until I received a notice that my January bag had been shipped.

Whoops! That was on me, however I am actually happy that it did happen. I was pretty pleased with the products I received this month, in fact I plan on keeping and using everything I received aside from the bag. The bag itself isn't bad, it is actually pretty cute and I like the closure ring it comes with, but I have too many bags as is so I won't be keeping it.

What was in my bag? I received:

- IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-aging concealer in 10.0 light fair; This product has already come in handy! I haven't used it for my under eyes but I did use it to help hide two unsightly blemishes I had on my face recently. It blends with my skin well and I can still add a powdered foundation over it without it looking caked on, it covers quite a bit of skin using only a small amount of product. It lasted all day even with my use of a face mask and face shield for work.

- Kinship Naked Papaya gentle enzyme face cleaner; It made me pretty excited to see this in my bag. After experiencing a papaya enzyme facial cleaners during a facial I purchased I've been wanting to find one similar to it. I haven't tried this yet, however I am looking forward to using it.

- Laruce Beauty LR005 tapered blending brush; It is almost silly how much I love getting new makeup brushes, even though I have plenty of them I always want more. I like the handle on this brush, the slight texture looks neat and makes it easier to hold onto. The brush bristles feel soft and I like the white/light gray color combination.

- YC collection 'let Me First" Primer; This is another product I won't use right away as I have other primers to use up first, but this is a pretty decent sized sample so I know it will last me a while. I like using primers to help my colorful makeup "pop".

- Sugar Cosmetics Matte as Hell lip crayon in Stephanie Plum; The color of this lip crayon is gorgeous! It reminds me of a light wine shade, it goes well with my skin tone and I think it looks great by itself to add a little extra color to your face without having to apply all of your makeup.

All of the samples I received this month were actually a pretty decent size compared to some of the teeny samples they've sent in the past. The smallest sample in this month's bag was the IT cosmetics concealer, but with how much coverage you are able to get even this sample will last me at least or month or two since I don't use it on a daily basis. Over all for just over $13 (because of taxes) this month's bag was a pretty excellent deal.

Do you subscribe to any subscription companies? If you do, which company do you use and what types of products do they send out?

* This isn't a sponsored post, I personally purchase this for myself and like sharing what I receive in my bags.
