Sometimes it can be hard for families who are low income to go out & have a fun time with the family simply because of ticket prices, so knowing about awesome programs like Museums for All can be extremely helpful to know. What is Museums for All? It is a program that hundreds of museums across the United States participates in to help provide families on SNAP/EBT benefits with free or reduced prices for museums in their area.
Every state will have a different number of museums that are participating so they have made it easy for you to locate which museums in your area are included. You simply need to visit their website & select your home state to see a complete list of participating museums. For example Arizona has eleven different museums that participate in different areas of the state. A few of our favorite spots to visit are on the list along with some other options we haven't visited yet. In order to receive the discount, you'll need to show your SNAP card + ID that matches the name on the card at the box office where you purchase tickets at each museum.
Once you've located a museum you'd like to visit you can then check out that museums website for official information on the discount through Museums for All. For example, the Arizona Science Center provides tickets for $3 per person for SNAP card holders. Normally tickets are almost $22 for adults & $16 for children so using this discount is huge, especially for families that have more than one child or adult who will be visiting at one time. These savings can then be put towards visiting another museum during the summer, towards weekly expenses or getting to go out to lunch.
Some museums also offer certain days during the month where it is free to visit for the general public, which is a great option but it can get a little crowded, so Museums for all may be a better option if you want to avoid more people than usual.
Even if you don't see your local museum or even zoo on the list provided by Museums for All, I highly suggest looking around their website anyways for any discounts they offer. There are many zoos and more that offer the same type of discounts for SNAP card holders that you can take advantage of. If you know someone who could benefit from this program that might not have heard of it I encourage you to pass this post along to them.

Informative post. Museums for All is a great program for families. I'll check out the "Things to do in Arizona" for sure. I'd like to visit Arizona one day soon. Maybe after my Chicago visit 🙂
Thanks for the advice on visiting museums. I took the family to a sculpture garden last weekend - it was $80 for 4 of us! Will be checking out deals as you suggest. Stephanie
The Museums for all programme does sound like it would be useful, especially for low income families. It does seem to offer some great savings which can really help why you're trying to keep kids entertained.
Museums for all sounds great. You're right, it can be difficult for fams to enjoy certain places because tix prices can be exorbitant, esp for bigger families. I should know!
Here in the PH, there are weekends when the museums all come together and announce that entries are free. We take advantage of these dates
This is such a great idea as days out can be too expensive sometimes with kids. We are lucky in the UK that a lot of the museums are free to enter.
The "Museums for All" program sounds like an amazing initiative that not only provides access to museums at a discounted rate but also promotes inclusivity and diversity.
I'll be poking around for discounts, for sure. Happy to learn about the site.
Thanks for all the information. I love reading all this. I will check, Things to do in Arizona later.
We love visiting museums but it can be expensive. We are always a look out for discounts.
Its great to visit museums and explore at the same time saving money! Thank you
Museums for All sounds like a fabulous initiative. Sometimes going to a museum can be cost prohibitive so this is great.
I think museums are such a wonderful way to spend time together as a family. Taking the opportunity to turn any moment into a learning experiencing is invaluable!
The program's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity is inspiring, and your detailed explanation has motivated me to take advantage of these opportunities.
Hhhhmmm...I love this initiative! Visiting the museum can be very expensive, especially for large groups of people. Using Museums for all will get us in there.
Looks like a good place to spend time with my family. My kids will love it.
Thank you for sharing this helpful information! It's always worth checking out the websites of local museums and zoos to see if they offer any discounts or programs for SNAP card holders. It's great to know that Museums for All isn't the only option out there. And I completely agree - if you know someone who could benefit from these discounts, please do share this post with them!
I can just imagine how much fun the whole family would have visiting this museum! Thanks for sharing
