ArtWood Giveaway & Review!

One of the things I enjoy collecting is wind-chimes, I love the way they sound and the way they look. I was recently granted the opportunity to work with a great small business called Artwood and they sent me a new piece that is different from my wind-chimes but fits in perfectly. What was it? A gorgeous handmade wood moon shaped sun catcher. I keep my favorite wind-chimes inside hung up in my kitchen to prevent them from getting damaged by the weather and the sun, this sun catcher will be joining my group of favorites. Artwood offers several different sun-catcher options made from different types of wood, in different shapes and thicknesses they also offer different crystal selections so you can pick and choose. Artwood is a family run business which consists of a husband and wife team along with their three children, just by looking at their website you can tell a lot of love and great woodsman-ship goes into make these sun-catchers, it also reflects in their friendly about me and return/refund sections. Every-time someone makes a purchase from their shop they plant a new tree.

I received a medium Spalted Beech sun-catcher which is shown above. I was highly surprised at how quickly the package arrived to me in Arizona,USA considering it shipped from Ireland I was also impressed with how well packaged the sun-catcher was. It arrived inside of a gift box with dark blue package filler and they left the little tag on top which is connected to the sun-catcher string so you can pull it right out of the box without having to dig around for it.This sun-catcher is very well made, everything is sanded down and smoothed out to perfection and it is quite light-weight. The crystal was a lot larger than I had imagined it would be and I love it because it means there is a better chance for it to catch the sun and it will result in a larger rainbow. I didn't notice any scent to it, wood wise or chemical wise from the danish oil they use to give the sun catcher its sheen. As a bonus they can personalize the sun catcher by wood burning a quote or name into it which would make a wonderful wedding or baby shower gift.
